We should refuse to play. Not worth the risk of our players getting infected.

Does it matter if it is off after this anyway? Can't see us playing all the way to the final this season. No idea what they are doing and how they declare the winner and participants for next season if that one goes ahead.
It matters to me if its the last match I will see us play for the foreseeable future. But in terms of finishing out the comp, then its completely pointless, it will definitely be suspended.
A few theories going around about that, better to wait for official info as its all hopes and dreams.

Considering we've only conceded like 1 goal in the whole competition, I think it's only fair we get declared the overall winners and start in the CL next season, with a nice new trophy.

I imagine the 90 minutes they are on the pitch will be the safest period of time they are out of the house and near anybody else for the next few months. Low risk doesn't begin to describe it.

Literally more chance of a getting a career ending injury than anything bad from the virus.

Watched the PSG V Dortmund game last night and you could.

Tbf it just sounded like any old amateur match you'd see down the local club.

Same. You can't cover it the way you do a normal match. My initial instinct is that the TV companies should either:

    1. Mic the field more so we can hear the players and coaches much better (lots of coach yelling since they can be heard, which is cool). Downside here is you'd need a few second delay and a smart team able to cut out all the cursing I would imagine?

    2. Basically go with more of a Podcast style booth, like try to bring in someone like Pleat or the Zonal Marking guy or Jonathan Wilson who are obsessed with tactics. Really try to explain what the teams/managers are trying to do. Liverpool are maybe the best team in Europe and I still haven't seen a proper explanation of how the traps they set in their Gegenpressing thing actually work.

Discuss the players a bit more, as in encourage the announcers to be a little less polite and a little more opinionated and discuss things like (for example last night) why Di Maria has been such a great big game player or Cavani seems to miss all his big chances a la Higuain or if Thorgen Hazard was a mistake to start or if they think Hakimi will be a great right back.

    Strong team - happy days

Strong side I like it, might well be our last game this season

Christ, Maguire playing, would it have not been wise to rest him after barely passing fit for the last game, dont need a repeat of the pogba and rashford injury situation.

He shouldn't have nearly as much to do today, and it's likely there won't be another game for a month or more.

Fergie spoke of certain players (Rooney) needing to play every game in order to stay fit and sharp otherwise they get rusty really fast. Perhaps he fits the criteria?

I think we'll be declared winners anyway because UEFA rules decree that in the event of a cancellation the title goes to the highest ranking side remaining in the competition which is United as it stands. At least that's what someone posted earlier.

Hasn't it just been stated today that the PL will go on? So where is all this last match for a while thing coming from? The EL maybe suspended but there's no concrete news to say the PL is going to be suspended.

So we would play in the CL next season?

United get crowned champions of Europe, and Liverpool get their league win taken away?

    If Carlsberg did football seasons....

Surprised that Maguire is playing but resting Matic and AWB is good just in case the world doesn't end in the next month or so. Good to see Williams get a run out at RB and I get Greenwood isn't playing because Ole wants that Mata/Bruno link-up and that means Mata off the right where Mason goes. Not sure why James is playing instead of Chong though.

We're going to try to put big numbers on the board to make the return leg obsolete.
I think looks like some pretty good rotation. Resting 6 players that started against City so they can be ready for the game this weekend.

I love Fergie, but i think being the old school he was, he didn't fully understand modern sports science.

The body needs rest once in a while and every opportunity where we cam rest a player we should. Its now seen as normal or because players get paid amazingly well that we think they are made of superhuman strength.

The idea is to have your best for the whole season and affording your best a chance to catch a breather 5/6 a season is better than fielding them at 90% for all available games in a season

Hope we win, but I think we will not play the second leg anyway.

Feels like everything will be off soon anyway. League position is mostly key then as that might still matter.

Going to be a tough watch this, it’s hard watching a game with no atmosphere.

Fergie was the first manager to successfully implement squad rotation. He was renowned for it.
