I expect LASK to have a go early doors. We can be a bit slow to start, last few games have shown that so you'd think we'd be prepared for a fast and frantic start.

If we stay on top of that, settle in well and start to move the ball like we have of late we will be sound.

Just got to avoid the kind of start we had against Brugge.

Fred, Martial, AWB and Shaw need a rest.
    -------------------Romero
    Dalot----Bailly----Lindelof---Williams
    --------McTominay---Pereira
    Greenwood----Mata--------Lingard
    ---------------------Ighalo

A draw would be a decent result before the return game.

We should be good for a score draw at minimum, but with our admirable defensive stability a low scoring win should be attainable even if the performance itself is probably not going to be great.

It will be a tough LASK to win, perhabsburg we should start with Igalho to give Martial a rest. Linzgard could return to the squad however starting him wouldn't be the reich choice.
Starting him is never the reich choice.

Can be quite difficult to go from the high energy, high pressure game we had yesterday to a low key match like this. Doubly so since we have the home game to come. Lets be honest, we could probably lose this game 2-0 and still be confident we could turn it round at home. A 1-0 win in a dull game with no injuries would be fine.

Beat Brunos Sporting 3-0 and PSV 4-1 at home. Won the group. 6 points clear of Red Bull Salzburg (who looked very impressive i CL) in the league. Seems to be a decent team, so hope we line up a pretty strong 11.

Irrelevant really. RBS were ahead until they sold Haaland and Minamino. They got schooled in the previous EL round.

I must admit to knowing nothing about these guys. From what I've read, we're dealing with a decent side who are no mugs, but we do need to rest some players.

    -----------------------------------Romero-------------------------------------
    AWB-------------Bailly--------------------Lindelöf---------------Shaw
    ---------------------Fred----------------------McTominay----------------
    ---------------------------------Fernandes-----------------------------------
    Greenwood------------------Ighalo-----------------------------James

SUBS - Dalot (AWB), Williams (Shaw), Lingard (Greenwood)

    LASK 1 - 1 Man United
    Fernandes (pen).

    - Given the Spurs game on Sunday
    - A lot of player shave played a lot of game so far this season
    - One of the last times this season we'll have an opponent we can rest players for
    - Resting key players would mean they don't have to travel either
    - The insurance policy of a 2nd leg at Old Trafford.

I'd fully rest for this game, even our rested side should still come away with an away goal and a draw minimum, worst case scenario for me is 1-0 defeat in which we can still comfortable expect to overcome in 2nd leg. It may sound disrespectful towards LASK but the points above outweigh the mindset of play a strong side and win the 1st leg away very comfortably, when we could be smarter about team selection and fixture management.

    My 11 would be 4-2-3-1

    Romero

    Dalot
    Bailly
    Tuanzebe
    Williams

McTominay (returning from injury needs minutes, didnt start vs Man City)
    Pereira

    Lingard
    Mata
    Greenwood

    Ighalo

Subs: De Gea, Lindelof, Garner, Matic, Chong, Gomes, James. - Garner, Chong + Gomes subbed on if result is positive at the time

Of Course could blow up in my face but id still fancy us to go throw without too much bother as well as giving key players a rest ahead of the run-in

It seems they will be missing some of their most important players. They don’t have the squad to compete in all competitions.
However, we should not underestimate how such European nights can end against all odds.

Fred, Martial, AWB and Shaw need a rest.
    -------------------Romero
    Dalot----Bailly----Lindelof---Williams
    --------McTominay---Pereira
    Greenwood----Mata--------Lingard
    ---------------------Ighalo

A draw would be a decent result before the return game.
These guys score loads of goals in their home games. Big mistake to take them for granted.

I reckon keep Bruno in for this one. He looks perfectly sharp and not at all tired, and the game to rest him would be Norwich. Let him keep his momentum. With two goal hungry strikers ahead of him in Ighalo and Greenwood, he has every chance of racking up some more assists.

    Romero
    Dalot Bailly Lindelof Williams
    McTominay Pereira
    Bruno
    Mata Ighalo Greenwood
Admittedly that back line looks vulnerable, but what can you do? Maguire won't get another chance to be rested, and both Shaw and AWB bust a gut against City for 90+ minutes.

I reckon keep Bruno in for this one. He looks perfectly sharp and not at all tired, and the game to rest him would be Norwich. Let him keep his momentum.

I'd much rather rest him here. Norwich is a knockout game and the final game before the international break. Pointless resting him for that one.

I know absolutely nothing about LASK, but we should rotate heavily and still be able to get a good result. I would go for:

    Romero
    Dalot - Bailly - Lindelof - Williams
    McTominator - Pereira
    Greenwood - Mata - James
    Ighalo

Potentially bring in Fred instead of Pereira, but would like to see him get a rest.

    This should do fine, agree

Ighalo, Greenwood, Bailly, Dalot, McTominay, Mata and Tuanzebe should all start.

Get a away goal, thats good enough.

Rest players who need it. Take home an away goal and finish them off at OT.

    European away..
play for a 0-0.. look to steal a win.
    4-5-1

    classic.

    Romero
    Dalot Bailly Lindelöf Williams
    McT Matic
    Greenwood Mata James
    Ighalo

AWB, Maguire, Shaw, Fred, Bruno and Martial all get a rest before spurs, still a pretty strong lineup not featuring Lingard or pereira, should be enough for a decent result.

We shouldn’t risk the XI players that played against City, as we have a big game coming at Spurs on Sunday where we really need to put a performance.

I’d like to see a second team playing and having at least a draw away from home. Even if our “second players” are enough normally to beat them.

    4-2-3-1

    Romero

    Dalot
    Lindelof
    Bailly
    Williams

    Mc Tominay
    Pereira

    Lingard
    Mata
    Greenwood

    Ighalo

    I'd make 10 changes.

    Romero - Dalot - Tuanzebe - Bailly - Williams - McTominay - Mata - Pereira - Greenwood - Lingard - Ighalo

I expect it'll be as above but Maguire instead of Axel

These guys score loads of goals in their home games. Big mistake to take them for granted.
Sure but we need to win against Spurs. At least here we have another go. It's a difficult one. Shows our lack of depth.

Wonder if he might stick with the 5-3-2... keep it tight and try get a 1-0 win.

Could go with Igahlo and Greenwood up top and McT, Mata and Andreas behind them.

    ————————-Romero——————————-

    Romero

    Dalot Tuanzabe Bailley Wiliams

    Mctominay Garner

    Greenwood Bruno Martial

    Ighalo

Bruno Mctominay and Martial for 60 mins max. Enough to wrap the game up in that time

Just for the love of God don't feck this up. My workplace would be unbearable otherwise.

Buzzing for this game. Hopefully we can rest martial Matic maguire and Bruno and still a get a result

Can we play lingard or periera as DM? Just a thought...

Bruno, Fred, Maguire, James, and Martial shouldn't set foot on that pitch.

    Romero
    Dalot - Bailly - Tuanzebe - Shaw
    McTominay - Matic
    Greenwood - Fred - Mata
    Ighalo

Subs: Fernandes - Lingard - Pogba

    LASK 0 - 1 MUFC

Smash them in the home return leg.

    Romero
    Dalot Bailly Lindelof Williams
    Lingard Garner McT Gomes
    Mata
    Ighalo

Would be my pick but I'd happily bet a tenner or more that Garner and Gomes don't start. I'm just fed up of seeing Pereira though, nothing against the lad, he's just terribly middling and in CM he's a mess.

I would rest some players here. It is a risk but we're away to Spurs on Sunday. Just try not to lose.

    Romero
    Dalot--Bailly--Lindelof--Williams
    McTominay--Fred
    Greenwood--Mata--Lingard
    Ighalo

Subs: De Gea; Maguire, AWB; Matic, Pereira, Bruno; Martial

if Pogba is fit enough for the bench then have him there instead of James.
I'm down with this, ahtough i'd leave Bruno at home if Pogz is bench-ready.

I'd go for this but I think Lingard and Greenwood will start over Bruno and Axel.

Think that setup will be overrum unfortunately. As much as I’d like them getting time.
