First response, best response.Ruben's first real test.
I’d have Mazraoui where dalot is. Then Garnacho on the other wingback role as an attacking wingback. And Højlund in for Zirkzee. The team I'd love to see, fitness permitting.

For that set up I'm playing Dalot as the more defensive wingback, to give more protection to Yoro as well as having another builder of play on that side. Also his crossing from the right is highly underrated. And I like Maz's crossing from the left more.I’d have Mazraoui where dalot is. Rasmus suits his formation more than Zirkzee though. Garnacho is neither better defensively than the above two, nor is he a better passer. Zirkzee is better technically than Rasmus, links up better with Amad, and with Bruno as part of my attack I'd need to limit technical errors and hold onto attacks with the others. Goals would come if we are a better attacking unit.
Zirkzee is better in getting himself in chance and much better in air. Hojlund is better finisher. It is quantity vs quality.Rasmus suits his formation more than Zirkzee though. As an out and out striker
I just hope we’ll win and players will show hunger to impress the new coach.People are expecting miracles for the new manager's first game.
I suggest you give him time to adapt to the EPL and manage your expectations for the first few months.
I am all for raising expectations, but to expect a big win for his first game in charge, in a league he has never managed in - I don't think this is reasonable.
Agreed, he could do with being rotated a bit more than he has been though, I think his inconsistency this season has largely been due to overplaying. Interesting thought about Mazraoui, he'd probably look good as wide CB.People are underestimating Dalot because he’s been up and down this season. I think Amorim will love him and have him as a key player almost immediately. Hes the only fullback we have with the right energy levels to play wingback to a high level. I think Mazroui could end up being a surprise CB long term in this system.
Dalot hasn't been up and down this season, he has consistently been down... can't remember one good match from him this season. He needs a rest and will probably come back in better form.People are underestimating Dalot because he’s been up and down this season. Nahh it's not, it would be a total waste of his talents. Garnacho on the other hand...Amad as an attacking wingback is interesting. He's need to bulk up. Dalot has been poor recently but he's ridiculously fit and strong.
I'm not sure where this idea of "bulking up" originated, but players need to be athletes, not bodybuilders.Amad as an attacking wingback is interesting. He's need to bulk up.
Nah just one of the best players in the world for a few odd yearsI'm not sure where this idea of "bulking up" originated, but players need to be athletes, not bodybuilders.
Rashford is heavier now than he was when he was younger. He was better when he was younger and lighter.
Martial was better when he was lighter/younger. As he got heavier, he got worse.
Generally speaking, when MCFC buy a player they ask that player to lose weight....not gain weight. And MCFC are the best team in the league.
David Beckham moved to Real Madrid and I think it was in his 2nd season that he bulked up. In an interview he stated that the reason why his performance had declined was because he got heavier....so he lost weight and improved his performance.
Romelu Lukaku joined us and got heavier and heavier, to the point where his performances suffered badly. He moved to Inter, immediately lost weight and his performances improved.
I could go on, but you get the drift.
I can't think of a single player who has improved after "bulking up".
Yes, agreed. Amorim will love Dalot. I believe he will play right wingback and Maz will dovetail as the rcb. This will infuriate the many Dalot haters on this forumPeople are underestimating Dalot because he’s been up and down this season. No, he doesn't. He's already strong for his frame and has great balance. I really don't understand the obsession on here about having a squad full of meatheads. This isn't the 80s. Pitches are perfect, players no longer have to power through the mud. The game is also a lot softer now. Players lose agility when they gain weight. Mason Mount is good example of a player who was much better a couple of years ago when he was slimmerAmad as an attacking wingback is interesting. He's need to bulk up. football is not about how fast you run or how high you climb but how well you bounce.Hoping the new manager bounce builds on the interim bounce to make it a huge bounce that stays high.
Must win game .
Unbeaten in Europe, into the quarter final of the league cup and only 4 points off 3rd place in Premier League. Trust the process of a season?See, this is the problem now. The guy takes over a shitshow of a season, first game as manager (or "head coach") in English football, and already it's "must win".
Are we gonna give this guy time to figure out his best players and best formation, who he needs to keep and who he needs to get rid of? The chances are, if he's given the freedom to do that, the results are going to be up and down for the remainder of the season.
