It will be nervous if they score the first. Hopefully we score earlier and put the tie to bed.

True. Hopefully we can put the tie to bed before HT and get Ibra, Carrick and Pogba off.

Luckily, TFM and Shaw are on the bench and can get some minutes under their belts.

Yeah, I hope to see those two for the last 20 or so if we are comfortable.

The fixation here with rotation is baffling. Wigan coming to town on the weekend so if someone needs a rest then there's the opportunity. Mourinho will know who needs it, and has never been one to rotate just for the sake of it.

The people overreacting about Martial are the same ones that claimed Mourinho didn't rate Mhiki back in October.

How can you possibly compare the two?

We have no idea if Mourinho's treatment of Martial will have the same positive impact that it did with Mkhitaryan.

They're two completely different people. Only time will tell.

Apparently Hull's keeper for today Marshall isn't rated highly by their fans. Watch us make him MOTM.

Congrats to Ander who makes his 100th appearance for United tonight.

Great. Expect Ander to have a 'mare of a game...

We should be beating that Hull side. They're average at best.

Oh no Jose has a dodgy hair cut again!

mou is doing fantastically well with the guys imo. Martial will come backs strong, our season could be very long and mou is keeping the squad fresh

United's squad overhaul in sharp focus
The overhaul of United’s squad over the last three years is evidenced by the fact that only David de Gea, Chris Smalling and Michael Carrick from the XI who started the Reds last League Cup semi second leg vs Sunderland in 2014 are in the side tonight.

The likes of Alex Buttner, Chicharito, Welbeck Januzaj and Kagawa played for David Moyes that January.

    A surprise in Jose's team
Biggest surprise for me with United XI is that Ibrahimovic is playing and Rooney is on the bench. Would have thought after record breaking goal vs Stoke Rooney’s confidence would be sky high and itching for more. Conversely Ibrahimovic hasn’t been brilliant of late. But another clear indication of the pecking order now up front.

Yup. One of the two I got wrong in line-up. Don't know why Zlatan needs to play tonight.

And what a car crash of a semi final that was.

Sick and tired of seeing us play Hull  just get the job done today and get to Wembley unlike some chaps...

Perfect opportunity today and vs Reading not to get out of 2nd gear and still win/proceed to the next round. Then go again full blast in the league.

One of the most embarrassing United games ever.

Cant wait for him to run inside with the ball, pass it square then leg it off in a random direction. Rinse and repeate. Sick of it as well, even playing against these lot.
 This is hands down nail on the head when it comes to lingard.
    "But he brings energy"
Great but he doesn't apply it in an effective way

Seeing Lingard in there again makes me feel ill.

    He's so average it's unbelievable

I hear ya. It's come to the point where I hope he doesn't get an assist or a goal, because then we'll be stuck with him for another two months of ridiculous decision-making, backwards passing and missing sitters. That WBA assist basically killed our attacking fluency and finishing for half a dozen games afterwards. If only Martial got the opportunities Lingard gets after an average performance..

Also echoing what's been said of TFM and Shaw. Sincerely hope we've killed it at half-time and can bring them on as soon as possible.

United have never had 22 world class players. Football doesn't work like that.
why do we need to go straight from not good to world class?
Are those the only two options available.
Can we not have good squad players? Is that too much to ask

Mourinho has got the lineup wrong. Four of our most defensive defenders in there, it lacks creativity and our midfield is stretched as it is with the amount of games and yet we start with the three strongest midfielders who will need to often go wide since there is a lack of width from our fullbacks.

Sure, Rashford, Pogba and Zlatan could score goals and make this entertaining but I am not holding my breath. At best we're going to win 1-0.

He isn't being played for a reason. Something is going on behind closed doors. Mourinho is the manager and I am glad he is not taking any shite from any of our so called stars.

So if it's 2-2 on aggregate and Lingard scores the winner, you'll be fed up?

The state of some of you here :wenger:

Jesse Lingard is a good squad player. That's my point.
The vast majority of games he's started we've been drawing or behind when he was brought off.
His impact is minimal, that is not what a good squad player is.

Having said all this, I genuinely hope in my heart of hearts he has a stormer and I get slayed at full time ha

Precisely. With no clue of what's going on in training sessions or what's being said behind the scenes, how can anyone be in a position to state that Mourinho's making a mistake or that "Martial's fecked"? My point was that the kneejerk reactions are unwarranted, not that Mourinho's 'tactic' was certain to be successful. Although, I really doubt that, at 21 years of age, Martial would be of the mind that he's above the coach and completely disregard whatever Jose wants from him, so I don't see the reason for the meltdown.

2-0 up and he plays his most defensive defenders haha
I think you'll find he has it spot on
