    Pogba gets his wish
Paul Pogba gets his wish - except he is not playing! United look set to go with a three-man midfield with Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez on the flanks.

There is not a whole lot of creativity there in the middle of the park, but Jose Mourinho knows his side are in for a battle this afternoon.

Huddersfield will hack and harry at will – roared on by a boisterous home support – and the towering Philip Billing will be eager to make another impression in the middle of the park. Having very nearly been sent off when these teams last met each other just a fortnight ago.

Elsewhere, it is great to see both Angel Gomes and Ethan Hamilton make the bench and Eric Bailly return to the match day squad. Hopefully all three will get on at some point but Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard are there if United need to change the game.

Martial scored 3 in 3 from the left wing before Sanchez signed. Since then, he has either shafted to the right wing or been on the bench.

Look at the state of these scruffy herberts. If I was a superstar footballer, I'd wear a crown & a cape n' stuff. Twits...

That midfield is very one paced, Carrick and Matic together seems like overkill, with Pogba out I don't know why he didn't just play his beloved 4-2-3-1 with Lingard in behind Lukaku.
Lingard had an awful game at Newcastle, for sure, but I think he's dead sure to start against Sevilla so I'm guessing he's being rested.

Personally, I'd have liked to see McTominay continue as a 6 in a double pivot. Really impressed me against Huddersfield in the league, but I guess Jose wants to see him further up today. Also shows how versatile he is.

I was looking forward to the game until I saw the line ..meh

On paper that team is vile. I'm curious to see how they actually play.:D

Midfield three with no Pogba (or Herrera or Fellaini). Not looking forward to this.

Is Rojo injured? Why does Smalling keep getting starts?

As he's fantastic in the air, Hudderfield will be playing a lot of long ball stuff, he's our best defender to counter that. I honestly wonder what people watch at times, as they've no idea of what our players strengths are, they simply join to flock having a go at them...

Sometimes I look at the United team and think, shit me, that's weak as feck on paper, aside from a scattering of a few names that may or may not be shite too. + Sanchez though. Bet he gets a goal tonight.

Gomes, Hamilton? Given how bad they were against Chelsea last night Jose mustn't want Conte getting plaudits for playing all those kids yesterday.
Didn't watch last night but being fair to Hamilton he's been like a one man midfield at times.

Remember that Newcastle player a while back who turned up for his debut in a full tux?

Your logic is fine. But then Lindelöf, who's awful at precisely the same thing, gets a start.

    Whats wrong with it exactly?

You don't need me for that, just look at it and remember that we are at the moment the second best team in the PL. Now like I said that's only on paper and football isn't played on paper.

Is that the lad ripping it up for Marseille now. Thauvin?
He's the one I remembered, yep. Apparently there's been a few of them do it, kind of like it to be honest. Does look out of place when you've got one player in a tux and the next guy in a hoodie and baseball cap though

I think it could be one of the reasons. I would include Lingard there to.

One player or two don't ruin the cohesiveness of the team. Lingard is 25, hardly a youngster. Martial is the only youngster in the team, even then, he's quite experienced for his age and he has been very productive, I don't buy it

Jose saying he only found out Pogba was sick this morning.
