If we can keep 11 players on the pitch all the way to the end, then I think we have a fair chance of winning this one.
I feel like this has been overlooked by a lot of our fans. We'd be a minimum 4 points better off than we are now if it weren't for two red cards that changed the two games.

Going off the reverse fixture, Galatasaray aren't all that. With Onana back in form and the likes of Shaw and Mainoo offering composure on the ball, I fancy us to win by more than 1 goal.

Agreed it's been overlooked. Played an hour against Copenhagen with 10 men and were cruising it before the sending off. Against Galatasaray lost all shape when Casemiro went off. Could be up to 8 changes to the starting 11 on Wednesday to what started at home to Galatasary.

Completely forgot that Rashford is suspended for this. With that in mind, I guess I'm hoping for:

    -------------------------Højlund--------------------------
    Martial------------------------------------------Nacho
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    ---------------------------Bruno----------------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    -----------------McSauce-----Mainoo---------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    Shaw------------------------------------------------AWB
    -------------------Lindelöf---Varane------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    ---------------------------Onana---------------------------

I don't realistically think that he'll pick Varane over Maguire, though.

    Onana
    AWB Varane Maguire Shaw
    Mainoo Amrabat
    Bruno
    Pellistri Martial Garnacho

I like Dalot but I think he would struggle against Zaha so I would bring the spider in. I feel Varane's CL experience will be required in this ground. I can't stand watching McTominay avoiding the ball and passing backwards so I'm going for Amrabat, who I think could still turn out to be a decent signing for us. Pellistri in for the suspended Rashford as the Uruguayan is a natural right winger. Hoijlund and Antony to come off the bench.

The midfield needs to be changed, we can't have a repeat of the first half against Everton, mainoo yes but mctominay partnering him again whilst bruno plays further forward is a cause for concern

    Strangely confident for this one.

Nothing to lose here. We are most definitely going to Europa. Might as well go all gung ho. Win,, we have to beat Bayern,(unlikely)...Lose let's go to Europa.

We can easily end up out of Europe completely.

Why? Bayern is already qualified at that point most likely.

I'd like to be optimistic like I see many are but I think going away to Galatasaray in a must-win game is being underestimated quite a bit. It's one of, if not the most hostile atmosphere there is in Europe (we've had a mare with it before, when we were actually good and playing under SAF), they're in great form and our confidence is still brittle.

I'm not expecting a win, let alone by two or more goals, even if we performed much better than them early on (at home).

However, if we somehow manage to win our biggest game of the season so far in those conditions I would appreciate if the moaners took a 24 hour break on the Caf.

Based on this line of thinking, Bayern can just decide to lose the game against Copenhagen which makes it even more difficult for us to get through since Copenhagen would play their final game against Galatasaray at home.

In another word, we need Bayern to stay motivated enough. And when they're close to perfect 6 win in the group, it would be difficult for us to get result against them.

So in this mess, overall we're on the rough end of the stick.

Really don’t want Thursday night Europa league football so it’s win or bust here. Hopefully we can get a good result to be in control for the final round of games.

    Onana

    AWB - Lindelof - Maguire - Shaw

    McTominay - Mainoo

    Antony - B.Fernandes - Garnacho

    Højlund

Bayindir, Heaton, Dalot, Varane, Reguilon, Amrabat, Gore, Hannibal, Pellistri, Hugill, Martial

    Galatasaray 1-2 Manchester United

With Mainoo in the middle I think we will have more of the ball. It’s up to the attackers to really produce the goods. We are going to concede so the attackers need to be at it.

I would go Garnacho and Rasmus behind Martial. Pellistri is a really good option to bring on against tired legs. We are hitting some kind of form so hopefully it holds up. I think we are too good for them if we play to our potential.

    Rashfor is out.

Bayern can just decide to lose the game against Copenhagen
That not gonna happen mate. Bayern have their own pride. They're probably not extremely motivated but I'm sure they'd want and play to win. And it's not like we're such a force to be reckon with so they'd deliberately lose just to get rid of us.

The thing is we should be focused on ourselves. Whatever the result between Bayern and Copenhagen would mean feck all if we can't win.

we beat Galata 2-1, Bayern beat Copenhagen 1-0, two draws in final games in the group, cushty.

    Bayern 16 pts
    United 7 pts
    Copenhagen 5 pts
    Galatasaray 5 pts

If Ten Hag doesn't change his tactics, and has Mc Tominay as his second number 10, we'll be dead.

We have absolutely no protection in this team, and we are two weak technically to conserve the ball so for sure there will be holes in midfield (where they killed us in the first game).

We need to be more conservative. We were better than them for 80min or so but somehow lost the game, they will wait us, try to counter us and throw long balls to Zaha and Icardi, with trying to be aggressive in midfield. We'll have spaces and hopefully we can exploit this.

Nervetheless, I am not confident at all.

    Most likely

    We lose tonight

    Bayern 15 pts
    Galata 7 pts
    Copenhagen 4 pts
    United 3 pts

    Then last day

We lose again at home against a second Bayern team

    Bayern 18 pts
    Galata 8 pts
    Copenhagen 5 pts
    United 3 pts

Some proper weird people on here

Backing a solid 3-0 win to kickstart our European season. Hojlund to add to his tally twice on his inevitable charge to the CL golden boot.

I would like to see this defence tbh, very doubful though.

ETH will have Antony back IMO.

Martial if Hojland isnt fit to start.

I’m gonna engage optimist mode and predict that it all clicks tonight and the team beats Gala comprehensively.

in 99, the last group game was so obviously played for a draw to get us both through, and look how that bit them in the arse.

Agreed - if they don't play to knock us out tonight the treble looms large again.

Ten Hag only has 4 away victories against top 14 PL and in Europe in his time here, (Fulham, Wolves, Sociedad and Betis) all by one goal.

Would be his best result yet if he gets a win here.

I think we'll start well and even score a goal. But like in all our games in europe this season, we will eventually crumble and it will be ta ta bye bye to the CL :(

    2-1 gala.

I’ll take solace with our improved league form and expect a loss here. Just can’t see us getting anything, let alone a win. But with our insane injuries I hope to feck if we lose this we don’t end up in the Europa.

Sneaky feeling we'll win this - but then I thought we'd draw with Everton so what do I know.

Actually I do know we'll be losing to Newcastle on the weekend - that's what I know.
