    I see shades of Carrick at times. Decent on the ball but nothing incredible like a Scholes or Kroos. He'll never be that as the CDM. But in the few games he's played he does show diligence when getting back for opposition counters.

    He’s a Martial tribute act, and a poor one (on evidence so far) at that.

    Atleast prior to Martial’s legs falling to bits he’d score and create. Zirkzee leaving lots to be desired

    Onana, De Ligt, Eriksen and Ugarte have been good.

    I think Mazraoui looks so out of his depth. Zirkzee has been largely poor too. Garnacho and Rashford not involved enough

    Ten Hag and the team should be giving him a rocket every time he doesn’t press. Drives me mad looking at him miles away from pressing down his side, usually he’s not even in the camera shot.

    Yeah I was really pleased with us buying him as I appreciated his quality at Bologna under Motta, but he clearly needs to find another level of intensity at this point. It's fine not being some Cavani esque predatory box striker, but every action of his is so lax that it makes him very easy to deal with for defenders. I don't think I've ever seen him sprint either on or off the ball. That has to change or he'll be swiftly shipped out.
     
    Mazraoui is not it as a CAM, poor dude is out there hiding from the ball. Eth wont do it but we should get Casemiro on and move Eriksen closer to Zirkzee, maybe it could help Zirkzee to have Eriksen closer to him instead of Mazraoui.

    Well, lots of people who have watched him play (myself included) raised more than an eyebrow at the choice of him for our next striker. I'm still baffled by it.

Defensively we look happy to sit off them which makes sense when you see how disjointed our press looks on the odd occasion we do try and do it, but even sat off them we're too easy to play through and better decision making on their part or barring a world class block and save from us we would be behind.

    Hope to see some personnel/tactical changes at half time otherwise the second half will probably look the same and it's going to take a big slice of luck to hang on.

    It was good tbh but nothing really. His back was basically turned to the goal, shooting there would have been a big gamble.
    The pass was the easiest and best choice to make

    I was thinking this as well. He's really not been great all round, but the time we needed that 1 bit of heads up, unselfish play and he did it really well. Its not enough to say he's had a good half, but saying its the worst 45 minutes a United striker has ever had is rediculous, the guy had a key pass in the build up to set Garnacho off then the assist at the end.

    He's not his from the ball at all, he's been involved.
     
    Can't watch the game - seems like no changes in the second half and we persist with this experiment?
     
    I'd sub out Dalot for Amad and put Maz as the RB and Amad 10 role after the break

    To be honest I'd be more shocked if he actually tried to create space to shoot himself. He seems utterly uninterested in doing so in any game he plays at this point.

    I wasn’t planning to rely on stats, but I had to make my point. He’s completed just 17 passes with a 76% accuracy—no key passes, no long balls, nothing creative. He’s playing exactly like what he is: a full-back forced into an attacking midfielder role.

    One simple lay off does not grant him a free pass to plaudits. You conveniently missed out my quote saying ‘apart from the assist, zirkzee has been awful’.

    He’s barely controlled the ball, doesn’t pick the right pass, is positionally suspect and weak as piss physically so far.

    But you do you.
     
    To be fair, any away game in Turkey is not occasion for top form. Although we've looked poor, we've done well (so far).
