I'm surprised that Ibra and Pogba have travelled.

    De Gea
    Darmian--Mensah--Rojo--Shaw
    Herrera--Fellaini--Schneiderlin
    Mkhitaryan--Rooney--Martial

    or

    De Gea
    Darmian--Mensah--Rojo--Shaw
    Fellaini--Herrera
    Lingard--Mkhitaryan--Martial
    Rooney

Mkhitaryan won't start but I'm hoping he does. I'll be happy just to see him on the bench.

Smalling and Baily being injured means we have more space for a CB. Carrick not making it is a bigger surprise than Memphis. Maybe means he will take Herrera's place against Swansea.
This is what we're all hoping for.

lol if Mkhitaryan still doens't make the bench.

If Mkhitaryan is one of the 3 to miss out...

The opening post says Schweinsteiger is ruled out. Is this a correct description since he is not part of the UEFA squad?

Is there a super complicated UEFA special rule which allows you to nominate a player who was not part of the submitted UEFA squad? In other words: Could Schweinsteiger play under any circumstances in upcoming europa league matches?

(There is a discussion on twitter. Well, there is a discussion about every topic on twitter.)

Zlatan hasn't shown signs of tiredness in his play so not surprised he's been included especially as there's an international break coming up and its a chance to practically guarantee qualification.

United have 7 league games in 30 days from early December so imagine Jose will not be sending any of the 11 that will start against Spurs a few days later to the Ukraine on the 8th of December.

I'm surprised that Calamity Jones is in the squad, I thought he'd only been back training a couple of weeks.

Win this and we qualify. We can field kids versus Zorya and win with a mixed team at home to Feyenoord.

    Full squad :

    De Gea, Romero, Johnstone;

    Blind, Jones, Darmian, Fosu-Mensah, Rojo, Shaw;

    Fellaini, Herrera, Mkhitaryan, Lingard, Mata, Pogba, Schneiderlin, Young;

    Ibrahimovic, Martial, Rashford, Rooney.

21 man squad in this so 3 mens will be out tonight.

    -----------------------------------De Gea----------------------------------------
    Darmian-------------------Mensah--------Rojo----------------------------Shaw
    --------------------------Fellaini-----------Herrera-------------------------------
    Mkhitaryan------------------------Mata-----------------------------------Martial
    ------------------------------------Rooney----------------------------------------

Subs : Romero, Blind, Schneiderlin, Lingard, Pogba, Ibra, Rashford.

Change Fellaini for Mata, Pogba in the #10 and change Rashford for Rooney and I'm happy:

    -----------------------------------De Gea-----------------------------------------
    Darmian-------------------Mensah--------Rojo-----------------------------Shaw
    --------------------------Mata-----------Herrera----------------------------------
    Mkhitaryan------------------------Pogba-----------------------------------Martial
    ------------------------------------Rasford----------------------------------------

Why is everyone putting Fosu-Mensah at cb? He hasn't played there under Mourinho. More likely we'll continue playing Blind and Rojo. Think we'll see TFM coming off the bench. 90% sure we'll see Mkhitaryan and Martial on the wings.

Have to miss this game because of a fecking team treasure hunt at work. FFS

Genuinely agreed to a team social on match day because I thought its office code for "pub".

    Anyway, Mkhitaryan to start anyone?

I'd be happy with a draw in Turkey if we manage to rest some key players like Blind, Pogba, Mata and Ibra

We can count on our squad, I think they're good enough to play and win this game even if we do rotate a bit

If we win today though, we can be qualified and rest our squad when it matters more, ie in congested fixture lists (where Arsenal and Spurs are involved too)

I thought Mourinho was going to rest some players (remember when he was talking about having a big squad so as to play everybody in the minor competitions?), since the Swansea game is just a few days after. But I guess he's desperate for a victory and convinced the effort doesn't affect players performance… I think otherwise, that most of those failed shots by Ibrahimović might be accounted for that.

    How bromantic

We need a good win here if possible. The season is getting miserable with our rivals going from strength to strength while United continue to struggle

The press constantly saying ‘Mkhitaryan must play’ will just help keep him out of the squad.

Honestly man, please let other people make Match day threads. Its a superstition thing, but just give it a try. We have had feck all luck since you ve made them. No slight on you but let someone else do it. Just give it a try, if results dont improve you can take over again.

On the match, Play mkhi please fecking score. Give Ibra a rest maybe that will help him regain his form. Play Pogba as he finally seems to be getting on his game and disrupting that would be bad. Just win.
@Niall Listen to the man

Many fans want to see a shiny new toy in the team. Even if that means putting a player who has little/no experience in that position.
The best example of this was when we signed Valdes and some fans wanted DDG benched so they could see Valdes in the team. Bench, arguably the best GK in the World, for a player who has not played a single competitive game of football in over a year?

    Romero
    TFM-Blind-Rojo-Shaw
    -Carrick-Schneiderlin-
    Mikhi-Rooney-Depay
    -------Martial---------

I hope we see this team, I really hope we don't start Zlatan and Pogba as they've been overplayed recently and we have players that need minutes. That team is solid enough defensively to at least get a point. Have fresh players ready for Swansea.

    What's the story with Smalling?
Seemed to get injured against Fenerbache at home and went off at half time. (I assume) was rushed back to play against Chelsea, where he really stunk the joint and most likely exacerbated the aforementioned injury. Let's see if Mourinho will speak on it at the press conference.

Just to prove I don't know s…, I had two players starting that didn't even traveled. I'm finding it really hard to predict this lineup.

Have Carrick and Depay not been left behind in Manchester ?
