Better to have a second string team performing close to the first one, that the opposite, which is what usually happens when Mourinho features first teamers in these Europa League games.

I wouldn't even fly Valencia, Carrick and maybe even Ibrahimović.

The team I think should play, featuring only 4/5 first team players ahead of the important game against Tottenham come Sunday:

    De Gea
    Darmian–Bailly–Blind–Shaw
    /Rojo
    Fellaini/Schneiderlin–Pogba
    Lingard–Mata–Rooney
    Rashford
Now, this is very probably not who's going to play. Mourinho is going to choose a stronger team, that unfortunately won't perform (like away at Rotterdam or Istambul) and, even if we qualify, get us all depressed again.

We just need a draw. Some players should be rested for Spurs IMO
It's true in that we only need a draw but we have lost both of our away games so far, and we only beat these 1-0 at home. I wouldn't take anything for granted.

I'd personally play Fellaini over Schneiderlin - he'll be busting to make amends for Sunday. Also Lingard will be hungry for it after watching Mhiki stake his claim for a starting place. Rooney looked up for it last couple of times out and time to give Rashford a go in his favoured position.

No Valencia either? Guess TFM or Darmian at RB

    Romero
    TFM -- Jones -- Bailly -- Blind
    Herrera -- Fellaini
    Mata - Pogba - Rooney
    Ibra

Travelling squad: De Gea, Romero, Johnstone; Fosu-Mensah, Jones, Bailly, Rojo, Blind, Young; Fellaini, Herrera, Pogba, Lingard, Mata, Mkhitaryan; Martial, Rashford, Rooney, Ibrahimovic

Looks like Right Back will be Young or Fosu-Mensah (Young even listed as a defender in the travelling squad). I expected no Carrick and I suppose Valencia could do with a break. Shaw mustn't have recovered yet, but Bailly returning is great news so hopefully he can play 20 minutes tomorrow.

Attacking options is where it's difficult to predict. You have to feel that Mata and Rooney start as they didn't play the Everton game, while I would like to see Rashford and Martial get to start here.

I hope we're only taking Fellaini with the intention to leave him there in Ukraine, like an unwanted pet.

Reckon Fellaini will start. Wouldn't mind tbh if it means he's avoided on the weekend. We only need a draw, how much will he feck up anyway :nervous:

    De Gea
    TFM--Jones--Bailly--Blind
    Herrera--Pogba
    Mata--Rooney--Martial
    Rashford

subs: Romero, Rojo, Young, Fellaini, Lingard, Mkhitaryan, Ibrahimovic

With Bailly getting a 10 min run out at RB.

He could give our opponents a freekick in a dangerous area (most likely) or worse - a penalty!
Zorya tend to have low scoring games, so 1 goal could be crucial.

The big question is if Mourinho is going to play his current preferred front (let's say, Mkhitaryan, Mata, Martial, Ibrahimović) or not.

I wouldn't, since the second line (Lingard, Rooney, Rashford) might perform relatively well too and might even be more motivated to get a result, while the the others might be worried they get injured and miss Tottenham.

Even if Fosu-Mensah can cover at midfield, with only three midfielders making the trip, I wonder if we're not returning to 4-2-3-1, even if it's an away game.

    Romero
    Young -- Jones -- Rojo -- Blind
    Fellaini -- Pogba
    Mata - Rooney - Rashford
    Ibrahimovic

subs : De Gea, Fosu-Mensah, Bailly, Herrera, Mkhitaryan, Martial, Lingard

Is Mata going to be dropped a third game in a row, now due to the pitch's condition?

Don't like the sound of this...

    Can't play on that.

That cnut from Zorya calling Manchester a shit hole yet they can't stop their pitch from looking like one down the local park.

26.02 If any doubt arises as to the condition of the field of play after the visiting team’s departure from home, the referee decides on the spot whether or not it is fit for play

26.03 If the match cannot commence for whatever reason (e.g. condition of the field of play), it must be played either the next day or on a reserve date or other date set by the UEFA administration. A decision must be taken within two hours of the decision to cancel the match, in consultation with the two clubs and the associations concerned. In case of dispute, the UEFA administration fixes the date and kick-off time of the match. Its decision is final.

Problem with that rule is that the weather there is not going to get any warmer, it isn't just a bit of a cold snap, that is how their weather is, so how do you decide on a new date? They would actually have to play it in another place.

The game will be played, it won't be very cold according to the weather stations.
