    Absolutely poor second half. Total shambles. Had we played some football on the ground without Sloppy passing in counter attacks we would have won this game. We are poor on possession and leak a goal too. Can't just stop drawing games.
     
    What an eye sore of a game. Let's hope we never have to go back there - was a wasteland with a shitty stadium built round it
     
    Props to Jose who has really instilled that drawing mentality into this team, fantastic result.
     
    Bad pitch and all but Martial and Pogba in recent games have gone to pieces inside the box.

    We need players like these to start controlling the ball up top.

    Blaming the pitch is just an excuse to cover up for the shoddy football we seen all game. The passing was just volleyballesque.

    Get rid of your red tinted glasses. A draw is not an acceptable result regardless of the pitch condition.

    The biggest bonus is we managed to escape from this shithole injury-free. Not ideal preparation for Chelsea but it'll do.

    This . Absolutely true. We could have won it.
     
    If you had said 1-1 before the match I would have taken it. Bit disappointing to take the lead and then be dragged back. It was a tough match and we did well.

    But we should obliterate these guys at home.
     
    Another draw but on the positive side we have a real chance to be in the last 8 should we win next Thursday. Players need to step up for the upcoming game really.

    He was bad no doubt, but he came on in a shit game where you can't run with the ball cause it bounces all over the place. It's just not a game to draw any conclusions about any attacking players really. Bayern lost here, remember.

    what sort of game were you expecting?
    Hard away European game on a dreadful pitch against a team with a very good home record.
    The game was just what I expected, happy with the result.
    Fellaini had a very good game, Man of the Match for me.
     
    Lack of attacking balance in the forward areas is really hampering our attacking play. Should have won this if we tried to play on the ground and passed better. Poor in possession.

    Yeah any half decent team would've played them off the pitch, just ask Bayern, they smashed them 2-3.

    It's not that it's not a perfect pitch, it's that it's got more hills than Norfolk.

    You know so little about football if you don't this mess of a pitch doesn't effect teams badly. Almost everyone seems against you, rose tinted glasses or not. Perhaps maybe, just maybe, you should take that as a sign you're talking bullshit?
     
    Pitch turned the game into a bit of a schoolboy event. Image 22 eleven year old's on a gravel pitch, hoofing the ball at almost every opportunity and just running into space and hoping for a break. Not much to watch but it looks like nobody got hurt?

    Both goals well taken ... Jones maybe at fault but really great finish by their striker. The home field advantage was significant so the result is very acceptable imo.

    A predictable score draw which should be good enough for us to take the second leg at home especially with the two suspensions they'll pick up.

    Credit Jose with as good a line up as we could muster for the conditions and the type of game it was always going to be.

    We are having even more draws than the lvg era. The only difference is it's not laboutous and boring.
     
    Really, should've dropped Pogba and doubled up on Fellaini.
    What was the game plan today? Hoof the ball? Going forward we play for a draw, at the back - whatever happens, just fecking clear it ?
    Starting with a 5-3-1-1 and then a 5-3-2. Oh wait. Pogba didn't play so it was more like 5-2-1-1 and then a 5-2-2.
    That ref - I think he was on some bonus - % towards his paycheck depending on the fouls. What was it at the end ? 38 ? 40 ?
    Ugliest game of football on the ugliest pitch that I've seen in quite some time. How we scored I have no clue.

    At the end of the day next game will be played on grass, they'll be missing their captain + another important player and we have an away goal.
    We have to destroy them next Thursday.
     
    I am just glad we came away with an away goal and no injuries. I'm sure Jose is just hoping to get out of Russia with no injuries considering all the upcoming fixtures. I'm content with this result.

    Bayern did not beat them does not mean we could not have. We could have if we tried to play on the ground in the second half. Because we were loosing all the second balls by playing long with no one to pick the second ball in attacking areas.

    No, it gives you some perspective. We had to play long, no team in the world could play football in the centre of that pitch. It's a good result. You need to reassess your outlook.

    Well it's all about playing to win and playing for a draw hoping to win luckily. Mkh played on the ground and we scored a goal.
