    I'm not making this up as I go along. My view is based on what this team has shown us this season. Repeated instances of the same outcome.

    It's pessimistic, I admit, and there's a chance that anything happens, it's just very unlikely.

    Would be incredible if we knocked Chelsea out.

    I'm not exactly a raging optimist and agree it's unlikely. However, a couple of wins in the leagues could turn it around again.
     
    I think Shaw will miss this one and play against Chelsea and I think I'm right in saying that
    Jose prefers Rashford to Martial for away games.

    I would expect Mkhitaryan to be back and in place of Mata.
     
    This will be a tough tough match. If we can get a lead we will be doing well.

    The fact that Jose rested a few today means he knows it will be tough.

    Yea i doubt we will beat chelsea. Might get lucky but the odds in in Chelseas favour.
     
    No idea why Rojo and Jones didn't start this game instead of today in all honesty. I'd be inclined to shake up the whole team minus Ibra, I suspect he's going to be banned for at least 3 games by the FA.

    Keep the score low and try and snatch an away goal.

    Bailly is suspended. We can't afford to play risks like Schweinsteiger in this either - I'd 100% go full strength. They look like right physical bastards, and seem to play a 532 type formation. I think we'd definitely need Smalling for this game, it'll be gritty.

    Yes, but I mean we can't go over there thinking it's only Rostov, they will not be a walkover if we're complacent or incompetent. Our team and result at today's home game is my point of reference.
     
    Play the best team. E.L is the realistic way to be in the C.L, IMO we will not finish in top 4.

    Smash them 4-0 and most people will leave todays horrible match in the past

    I really believe we're going to have to win the Europa to get CL qualification
     
    Need to get serious in EL. Every game in this competition is important with how our league form is so inconsistent to get a confident top 4 finish.
     
    Poloz and Azmoun are the danger men. Both are goalscorers. They have performed well in Europe.

    But generally, Rostov have quite an old squad. Lots of 30+ players in their ranks.

    Let's get out of their with a 1-1 draw and finish the tie at home.
     
    I'm not particularly keen on watching us play anytime soon after today.

    But a score draw would do us nicely.
     
    I think this match will be a draw with us getting at least one away goal.

    I'm pretty confident we will get a positive result without playing Mkhitaryan the full game. I'd also rest Carrick as I think we will need him for the Chelsea game, I have a feeling we will be under the cosh for most of that game again. What we certainly don't want is another collapse so playing Carrick 3 times in 9 days would be suicidal.

    I don't know to gauge how good Rostov are, but we can't hit a barn door - I'd be surprised if we got an away goal out there. I'm expecting Zlatan to spend 90mins being hassled, harassed and wound up by two CB's with nobody else stepping up and offering a goal threat. One of those games where we're limited to a couple of 25yrd speculative shots from Pogba.
     
    I don't really like the Smalling + Rojo partnership, but considering how shambolic Phil Jones was on Saturday, I think we have to play these two with Bailly out. Could even be Smalling/Jones/Rojo but I never want to see Rojo at Left Back. Zlatan will play to redeem himself and he's probably missing the Chelsea game now anyway. Mkhitaryan likely still out, Herrera guaranteed to come back in.
     
    Suddenly this has become a pressure game, will be interesting to see what that burden does in a cup game finally.
