Crazy to think that an elite level talent like Yamal wouldn’t get a game for us in his natural position with this stupid formation. Not a single actual winger lining up for us today. Never thought I'd see the day at this club.

He has to stop the team from losing games. So defensive again. How did we end up with a manager more conservative than Mourinho?
There's an argument to be made that Garnacho looked a bit better coming from the bench. Not sure I like it, but it's not outlandish
Cool, so were most of his teammates. Let's drop them as well.He was diabolical.
He also has a great record against Everton which shows you that Amorim doesn’t even know which players are suited to certain opponents, he’s such a rookie at PL level and he needs to learn fast now?Not a fan of leaving Garna out when he's the best out of the 3 attackers we have fit. Absolutely nobody who can take people on out there for us
Width? One v one ability? We don’t need that. Not a single actual winger lining up for us today. Never thought I'd see the day at this club.
We say this for almost every game and every season.Every game to me is one game closer to the end of season.
Some people just want to be negativeThere’s some good quality in this team.
Just take Ugarte, he’s been excellent, Bruno consistently amongst the highest numbers for a number 10 in the league before this season. 4 players could change this team we just need the right 4.
....and that is a "defensive" lineup how, exactly? So defensive again. How did we end up with a manager more conservative than Mourinho?
Or missing the target completely and ignoring teammates in better positions.
So leave out the player that scores goals against Everton, Ruben is dogging his own grave right now, this team he’s selected is to try and be compact and nick the game 1-0 won’t happen? We can't score goals. We don't have a single player at the club who can score a goal. And there is no way we will score a goal
2-0 to Everton
We won't score a goal
One goalkeeper, five defenders, two defensive midfielders. Three attacking players. How is it not?....and that is a "defensive" lineup how, exactly?

These negative lineups have us losing eight out of 14.He has to stop the team from losing games.

Lose the next two games and relegation is a real concern because Amorim would have lost 65% of his PL matches !We cruised past Everton in the reverse fixture, but a lot has changed since then. Our performances have steadily declined, while Everton, now under Moyes after replacing Dyche, have been revitalised. His return has been nothing short of brilliant.
That said, despite Amorim’s comments and the media’s narrative, we have more than enough quality to win this game—even against an Everton side in far better form.
The team we played in the reverse fixture was:
Onana
Mazraoui De Ligt Martinez
Amad Casemiro Mainoo Dalot
Rashford Bruno
Zirkzee
At this point, we have nothing to lose. Relegation isn’t a real concern, which makes this the perfect opportunity to give some of our youth players a chance. With that in mind, the lineup I’d like to see this time is:
Onana
Mazraoui De Ligt Heaven
Dalot Ugarte Moorhouse Dorgu
Garnacho Bruno
Zirkzee
That would be because we don't create enough chances. Garnacho is selfish and shoots on sight. You'd expect him to hit the odd one on target. While true both he and Bruno average 1.1 shot off target per game. Garnacho on the other hand averages 1.5 on target as well and thats a good ratio - none of our other players are above Bruno's 0.8 shots on target per 90
The first step to scoring goals is getting your shot on target. Most of the time you arent going to score if you don't get that part right
Zirkzee is playing and he averages 0.7 on target and 0.7 on target per 90 mins. Just 50/50
To be fair Garna has always been better off the bench, some of the moaning here is incredible. Not a fan of leaving Garna out when he's the best out of the 3 attackers we have fit. Absolutely nobody who can take people on out there for us
Garnaucho record pretty good too and on bench!Any chance we can bring Martial back just for this game?!
Seriously? We play a 343. You think that automatically implies 7 defensive players? One goalkeeper, five defenders, two defensive midfielders. Three attacking players. How is it not?
It isn't a concern. You forget that the teams below us actually have to win games.Lose the next two games and relegation is a real concern because Amorim would have lost 65% of his PL matches !
Some people are incapable of seeing past the formation.Seriously? We play a 343. You think that automatically implies 7 defensive players?
Garnacho getting punished for being the only player mustering up shots on target vs Spurs. We don't like to do that under Ruben. Especially in the first half of games.
It's truly awful unless you have the right players in every position. Hiring Amorim when we knew we couldn't buy anybody in January, beyond idiotic.I hate this system. There. I've said it.
I'd like him as an impact sub if we had 2019 Rashford, 2020 Cavani and Amad starting. With this current lineup, I'd prefer Garnacho starting so we can see us have a few shots in the first 60 minutes. Is he? I'm thinking that he's always better coming in as impact sub.
Oh come on, that is way too simplistic to make any kind of meaningful argument. "Defensive midfielder" is a role Casemiro often plays, not something he IS. Generally one of our 8s is heavily involved offensively, as I am sure will be the case tiday too. Hopefully that's Casemiro - at this stage he has much more to offer in that role than as a defensive anchor. And the WBs play an offensive role whether or not the players are nominally FBs or whatever. Dorgu also has played wing quite a lot, I gather.Three CBs, two fullbacks at wingbacks and two DMs in midfield.
I'm not particularly critical given the relatively limited options to hand, but you'd have a hard time seriously trying to argue that isn't a defensive set of players. 7 of the 10 outfield players defenders or notionally defense-first players.
Ideally you'd have at least one actual attacker in one of the wingback roles, and pair your DM with someone who isn't also a defensive midfielder.
Put it this way, if we score, it's likely it's flying in off someone's arseLeast the midfield won't be so porous. Not sure about the attacking threat?
Having 2 DMs in this system gives the wingbacks more license to go forward. It's why I like Amad as RWB.Ugarte Casemiro has looked the best combo this season. They seem to work well together and hopefully they can carry it on today.
The system makes us choose between Garnacho and Bruno though where as 4231/433 allows both players.
Is he? I'm thinking that he's always better coming in as impact sub.
