A win would be huge and would also be such a confidence boost going into the remainder of the season.

I feel a Fernandes thunderbastard incoming...

If ever a time for us to win that is today!

We really need to punish Chelsea, however I'm not the most confident.

    Confirmed United squad members

David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Nathan Bishop, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Diogo Dalot, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Brandon Williams, Scott McTominay, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Andreas Pereira, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Daniel James, Bruno Fernandes, Tahith Chong, Mason Greenwood, Odion Ighalo
Seems like Martial's injury is worse than what they communicated (a clearly established trend with United, this season) That sucks, big time.

I hope Ole plays Ighalo and Greenwood and they step up to the challenge. We would not have a chance if Bruno was not in, but with Bruno, Fred and McT - I am hopeful we can get these critical 3 points done.

No Martial for tomorrow is a huge blow, he's in great form and he's got a brilliant record against Everton. Scores plenty against them every season.

Doesn't sound like it's anything really serious but Ole seems to downplay injuries so who knows.

Injuries have completely fecked us over this season. It's been brutal.

I'd go for the same XI as against Brugges, except with Greenwood on the left instead of James.

Throughout Ole's tenure this would be the kind of game that would send us crashing down after a short run of form.

Let's see if we look like we're closer to turning a corner. But maybe it's hope that kills.

Think Ole will be tempted with the back five but I’ve taken a punt with -

    DDG

    Wan Bissaka
    Lindelof
    Maguire
    Shaw

    Fred
    Matic
    Bruno

    Greenwood
    Ighalo
    James

Personally I’d play Mata instead of James and McT instead of Matic but I know they both played on Thursday

I swear the injuries we've had this season are just unnatural. We've had probably our most crucial 3 players (Rashford, Martial and Pogba) out for the entire season at one time or another, and now all three are out at the same time.

All we need now is an injury to Maguire to top it off. No Martial is a big blow, hopefully Ighalo and Greenwood can do enough to nick us a goal and help us come away with the win. I feel like this crucial period is coming at the worst time when we are just building momentum and you're hoping for a couple more winning games to keep that streak going, considering how we seem to deflate after a bad loss for weeks after.

Wouldn't say the game tomorrow is a must win, but would definitely be a huge blow if we lose. Not feeling that confident right now.

Poch must have killed a cow to curse Ole.

    Well, Martial is out then?

Bad news that both our top scorer are out. Honestly, I don't like the idea of starting both Greenwood & Ighalo, we need an alternative striker option on the bench. Since Matic, Williams & Lindelof didn't get involved in Europa, I'm guessing we will start three of them in this game.

A tough seat game, Martial being injured and a difficult run of games coming up. I'd take a draw out of this right now

Another must win...I believe that will be the cass now on.

I would feel happy in taking a point against Everton today if we didn't have City and Spurs coming up in the next two weeks, having said that if we can keep Chelsea within punching distance (3-4 pts) after these next three games we have a shot.

It's a big game this. Calvert-Lewin is in good form so we need to keep him quiet as he seems to be their main attacking threat right now. I think a midfield of Bruno, Fred and Matic/McT can dominate their midfield. I think we will see a back 5 today. Something like the below is what I expect us to see with Martial out and McT just back to fitness.

    DDG
    Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    AWB Williams
    Fred Matic
    Bruno
    Ighalo James

Worth nothing that we're also within striking distance of third. If we beat Everton, we are 6 points behind Leicester in third. We have an away game at Leicester in the final round of the season, technically that means we have a 3 point difference after Everton to close the gap on third.

Bruno, lead us to the promised land.

We need more goals so we might need Leicester to lose a bit more.

Given Martial is out tbh I'd be satisfied with a draw.

Difficult and typical match we'd usually suck at, hope Bruno can continue his form and make the difference today.

Wow, the huge loss of Martial is really understated in this thread.
Honestly, yes its not ideal, but its definitely not a massive loss as some think.

That being said, its almost a nailed on cert that we lose this one, not because of any injured player, but because its exactly the type of match we lose given all the teams around us that lost/drew.

This is simply a must win. This is like 3-4th time we are having a chance after our rival has dropped points.
0-1, 0-2,1-2,1-7 dont care, just win

Losing Rashford was huge, but losing Martial isn't as big. I feel like both Greenwood and Odion can do as good as job as Martial.

He is more essential to our style of play. With Odion we have to revert to a classic 9 set-up/runners around him. Anyway needed Martial fit for this one - will be difficult to break Everton like we did Brugge.

Tony has a great record against Everton, it’s definitely a big loss

Didn't the Premier League change from goal difference to head-to-head this season? At least for first / second place, top four, and the bottom four? Worth noting that we would be above both Leicester and Chelsea if level with them on points then?

If we get 3rd, Ole deserves the Manager of the Year award.

Which is exactly what We need to break tight defences in my opinion. Spread them wide with Dan James running on the wing, free Bruno and let him do his magic with someone always waiting up front to finish the chances.

Yes agreed but Everton are anything but a small team willing to employ a low block. We have seen it from last time at Goodison, they can attack (also have not lost last 6 at home I think). I think counter will be what will get us success against Everton and Martial's pace could be handy.

Its head to head if goal difference can't separate the teams.

I think this will be the team. Would rather have Bailly for his physicality, but easing him in gently is probably the right approach
