    Everton fans were protesting against his nomination because he's Manchester born.
    It seems to have worked because he's trying too hard to look impartial.
     
    People being a bit ridiculous in here. Apparently we should have had a pen and them 3 red cards according to posts I've seen

    He shouldn't have passed it to DDG from a deal ball there, didn't make sense, equally DDG didn't need to take 10 years to decide what to do with it

    Apart from that horrendous error, we’ve actually played quite well at what is a very difficult ground for us. Hell of a strike from Bruno too!
     
    Would definitely have settled for 1-1 at half time after the DDG mistake. Game is there for the taking.
     
    Why we always play good when we are losing. That was really nice and dominant football until we scored. After that it is again our old controlled football without risk

    And the same is true of every match thread on every forum everywhere. We get emotionally involved with young men kicking a ball around, it is not a of calm minds.

    Yes it can get a little ridiculous at times but it is the nature of the beast.
     
    Fred has done well on the left of the diamond, McTominay has looked like a fish out of water on the right
     
    Good first half bar that mistake by the keeper. Matic has been superb and Bruno class again. I like this 4 man midfield diamond, Everton cant cope with our midfield strength.
     
    terrible from De Gea. We struggle to create vs a low block too. Great goal by Fernandez even if Pickford could potentially have saved it.
     
    One mistake away from a solid first half. Centre backs a bit wobbly and Martial has disappeared, but in the midfield we’ve bossed it.

    Big teamtalk for Ole. Doesn’t need to panic, just remind the players they were excellent for the first 35 mins. Focus on playing the ball and moving, and we should win the match.
     
    McTominay is so out of position in this system. He keeps ending up on the right.
     
    A bit frustrating because we have been much better than Everton. However, because DeGea has had another iffy game against them, it's only 1-1. Great to have Bruno to bail us out. If only he'd arrived earlier in the season!

    I think the handball by Richarlison? could have been pen, his hand is away from his body and at head hight, only reason I think it wasn't given was proximity
     
    I've grown to absolutely fecking despise Everton. They've been a comfortable six points a season for their supposedly bitter rivals Liverpool for what, a decade now? And then they always play out of their fecking skins against us.
     
    We’ve been far superior in this game. Without the mistake they have only had 1 chance of note. Without the DDG error we’re sitting pretty at half time 0-1 without much threat.

    We’ve ran it in midfield, they can’t cope.
     
    That DDG howler is fecking annoying as we’ve been the better team.

    Matic & Fred have been very good. Martial & Greenwood need to do better as both of them have been anonymous.
