Has Lingard ever played on the left? I honestly cannot recall.

I have a strange feeling he's gonna produce the goods tonight no mata where he plays.

    Haha, love that!

He has started on the left before. Not often, but has done before, and I'd argue that he's looked more comfortable there.

Watch him have another shite game.

Greenwood started against Everton so was unlikely to start this match.

Shaw ahead of Williams is the strange one. Shaw has rightfully established himself as first choice again with his good performances lately, so thought it was almost certain we'd use this match to give Williams another appearance.

Still a long rest. Not sure why Greenwood couldn't play 2 games in a row. Rather him start this one compared to the City game.

God I hope we get embarrassed here since it’s only the FA Cup & would surely make Wolly’s position untenable. I can’t cope with this fraud in charge for much longer. Please get Poch in the summer & let us be a serious club again.

    What!!

Dont understand why he need to put Shaw, Fred and Fernandes through another game with City coming up. Mind boggling.

I think Ole fancies him, no matter how bad he is, he is always around the first 18. I just cannot wrap my head around it.
He works hard & shows passion, Ole values that over technical ability. It’s the same reason why James is always around too.

Hmmmm. Your location might be Manchester yet wanting us to lose clearly indicates that at heart you are not a Utd supporter.

    ‘Embarrassing’

    The irony.

I will never stop supporting United. I don’t care about winning the FA Cup or finishing top 4, are we Arsenal? Have you ever heard of the greater good? We need a serious manager if we are going to get back to the top. I’d take a loss to Derby if it means getting a real manager in & building towards becoming a force again. United should be challenging for the PL & CL, not scrapping with fecking Wolves & Sheffield for a top 6 place, where are your standards, man?
You are actually making a joke of yourself. Wanting us to lose so that we do better in future is one of the lamest bs.

Greenwood and Williams play regularly but let’s cry because we don’t play all of our youth even though they clearly aren’t ready. Even Chong gets a run out who’s certainly not ready.

It's been a while since Williams has played. Actually, his first bad game in a position that doesn't suit him, he got dropped. Greenwood doesn't count. He doesn't have anyone else and let's be honest, if he's shit Ole subs him right away. He doesn't trust youth no, just look at the lineups against Tranmere and now Derby. The one against Tranmere was a farce; a bottom League One-team and he basically played zero new players.

No pace in that team and it’s pretty dire if you take Bruno out of the equation (in the attacking dep.).

We'll be playing against a parked bus most likely so pace isn't that important. Mata's passing is more likely to unlock that defense rather than James' speed for example.

Running around like a headless chicken and losing the ball most of the time is not really working hard in my eyes. If that is what Ole values, i hope he is not around that much lomher to coach this team.

Hands up whoever selected Lingard in your line up. Congrats!

Anyone hazard a guess as to who will be captaining that lot? Bruno? McTominay? ... Lingard? :nervous:

Doubt Maguire is injured. The lazy bugger is probably out celebrating his birthday.

This is a joke, please tell me it is a joke, if its not you have no place being on here !!! One of the worst posts ever even for a match day thread !

Frankly, if we won the FA Cup or Europa League, and finished top-6, I'd say Ole's done something to prove himself.

I think he’s newly promoted must be a WUM

Europa League, definitely. For one thing, it would completely render the need for a fourth place finish null and void, since we'd be in the Champions League, which is the entire point in the first place.
