Not necessary, if we're level on points by the end of the season (assuming we don't lose our game against them) we get CL because of head-to-head.

League has new rules for separating teams who finish on the same number of points in relegation/European qualification spots.

Incorrect, this rumour really needs to die.

Fred as a lb? We have Dalot. Fosu Mensah playing? Before him I would play even freaking Pereira, Mata or give Gardner a chance.

Yes, Fred at left-back, the position he started his career, the position he finished last night .....

Timbo has been fit for a while now, and we'll need legs in there and it's an ideal opportunity to throw him in on a ground he knows so well to see if he can be a useful squaddie moving forward.

Presume you meant Garner, and not the MUTV commentator Stewart Gardner?

Fosu-Mensah hasn't played a single competitive game for United this season and you think this, a game we absolutely must win, is the ideal opportunity to throw him in the starting XI? That's, um, an interesting take.

Ramazani, Galbraith, Bughail-Mellor, Levitt and Bernard all played more this season than TFM - and if I'm honest I have no idea who any of these people are.

Would be tempted to start Igahlo, freshen things up and probably rest Greenwood. Would mean front 3 shuffling about a bit but trust him more than James. As for defence, hopefully Shaw or Williams are fit, dont trust Dalot. And if both are would rest AWB too. Fred in for Matic as well.

Brilliant. Ever thought about applying to be coach at Utd?

On Football Manager, after a result like yesterday, I always train the players doubly hard the next day, and give an 'aggressive' team talk. Hopefully Ole sees this and takes my advice

We've just had a 13 week break, so it's practically a new season, and I wouldn't expect him to last more than an hour if he did start, but we've got to use him eventually and what better venue than the one that for a period was his Manor.

5 players who were fit played more minutes in the first-team than somebody who was not fit, well colour me shocked.

Why? I don't think we're obliged to use him at all. It would be an incredible gamble to throw him in at the deep end at such a crucial part of the season. Matic, Fred, Pogba, and McTominay are all fit. There's no injury crisis in midfield.

No one else remember we played AWB once at LB and he did well?

Assuming both Shaw and Will are out..
    De Gea
    Bailly - Lindelof - Maguire - AWB
    Pogba - Fred
    Greenwood - Bruno - Rashford
    Martial
Rather that than gamble on Dalot or other youths.

    Alternatively,
    De Gea
    Bailly - Lind - Mag
    AWB - Pogba - Fred - Dalot
    Bruno
    Martial - Rashford
Both Shaw and Williams are fit. They showed up for training today.

    - AWB and Matic were bad again, the fresh backups won't do any worse than their dead legs so let them recover properly to start vs West Ham and Leicester;
    - If Shaw or Williams can't play, play Dalot or Laird;
    - We'll probably have the ball a lot more so I'd start Pogba, Bruno and our best forwards again, also because of the GD. Hopefully they can secure a result early and we can rest them as soon as possible, giving some minutes to the ones that will start vs Chelsea, where we should rotate more.

    --------------------------DDG
    Williams--Lindelöf-Maguire--Shaw
    ---------------------Fred-Pogba
    ---Greenwood--Fernandes--Rashford
    -----------------------Martial

Romero, Dalot/Laird, AWB, Bailly, Matic, McTominay, Mata, James, Ighalo

I had pinned this game as our toughest fixture in the run in.

I think West Ham will be a slightly easier tie, Leicester they have some aging players low confidence.

If United can get 3 points against Palace I'll breathe easier because I do think top 4 gives some breathing room at that point, momentum will then help in the West Ham game, and Leicester the United team just need to focus, dominate early and get an early goal.

Just turning up to Carrington doesn't mean they'll be fit to play.

Shaw will be having a scan and then probably physiotherapy.

If Shaw is driving himself to training then it's a good sign

Fernandez is in desperate need of a rest. He looks spent and progressively his performances have been degrading but still better then the rest! Time for Pogba to step up on the creativity front as the alternative no. 10s (Mata/Perriera) are not worth the hassle. So I would go for Matic/Fred or even McT/Fred combo to push pogba further up the field.

In defence we have no credible options so its going to be the same 4 that finished the game last night, barring any concussion issues meaning Williams can't play. And the front 3 picks itself with Ighalo as back up.

The ability to hold on to possession under pressure is still a massive negative for me, and the sight of Utd players hoofing the ball upfield (only for it to promptly lead to further attacks) was the most disappointing aspect for me. The fact that the equaliser resulted from a corner that was gifted after yet another poor attempt to keep possession merely rubbed salt into wounds! Still, one can hope...

Can't be arsed to go back and look at that wonderful XI I selected earlier, but Matic needs a breather, as does Fernandes(Pogba to take his place, as far away from our goal that is legal), i'd hazard a guess i've put McTom in, and Fred however talented he is can't play left-back and central-midfield.

This is not FIFA mate, Fred is not a LB. It doesnt matter if 10 years ago he played as a LB or if yesterday he played for 4 minutes there because Williams got injured. He will be found out in that position, its not thay easy.

Timbo has not played in months, he its clearly out of form and when he played he used to do it as RB, all that without adding that he's not good enough for a team like Palace never mind for us.

And yes I meant James Garner, and actual midfielder.

head to head only matters if 1) goal difference is the same, and 2) goals scored are the same. It’s the third criteria, not the first one

It is positive for sure, but you can sometimes twist your ankle and be able to move it backward and forward fine with no pain, but then try to turn it sideways and be agony. I've done it before myself.

I'm just saying don't expect him to be magically fine by Thursday just because he's in the car.

Garner who I rate as highly as Greenwood hasn't either, and has never to my knowledge started a Premier League match, whereas Timbo is a full International for Holland(he played in midfield) and has circa 35 appearances in the Premier League.

He was good enough for Palace though, he was a regular and praised for his performances, and if he'd have been allowed to play against his parent club and stayed fit AWB might have had to move on to get first-team football because he was half-way out of the door till he got his break against United.

I agree Garner hasnt has played, thats why he would be one of my last options to start. What I said is that I would rather play him first than Timbo.

Saying he is a full international for Holland is like saying Cleverly is a full international for England, yeah sure they played some matches but that hardly counts dont it?

Regarding him being good enough for Palace, that is full of "ifs" if he stayed fit, if he was allowed to, if if if. The reality is he wasnt, and got another chance to prove himself for Fulham who were one of the worst teams in the league and couldnt even start there.

Anyway Ive wasted enough time talking about Timbo, for good or for worse I dont think he'll play anymatch for us ever again. His contracts expires next summer and my bet is he will be let go for free.

Don't know how many games Palace have played at home since the restart but they more than anybody in the League are missing their home fans backing, much like myself those Holmesdale Fanatics can keep going for 90+ minutes!

Incredibly rare that I agree with anything that CO63 guffs out - but in this case, for once, he's absolutely bang on.

Palace without those rabid Selhurst maniacs are basically toothless. It's like they're constantly playing with 10 men.

Perfect game to bounce back with and I expect a comfortable win (albeit a somewhat drab game).

You also mentioned Mata, that feared Dog of War so I wasn't sure if you were joking, or not.

Agreed time to move on from topic.
