Feel more comfortable with Young as RW.
Must be that first 5 mins against Liverpool.
Going to stick my neck out and put him down for an assist.

It's a joke that after all the money we've spent Ashley fecking Young is starting as a winger for us

People saying our squad is really weak, but look at tonight's team:

DDG probably no1 in the world, value, close to £100m cost £22.5m 8 years ago
Dalot, the 'Best young player in his position in Europe' (JM), cost £19.8m
Smalling, England international, been at United since 2010/11 cost £7.2m
    Linderlof, cost £31.5m
Shaw, record transfer fee for a teenager, cost £33.75m
Young, Team captain, played in World Cup, 8 years ay the club, cost £16.2m
McTomminay, full Scottish international, came through the youth ranks.
    Fred, cost £53.1m
Pogba, World Cup winner, cost £94.5m
Lukaku, Experienced premier league striker cost £76.23m
Sanchez, arguably Arsenals best player when we bought him for £30.6m

That's nearly £400m in transfer fees, God knows how many international caps ? Over 1,200 league appearance for United, how many teams can match that with 8/9 'first teamers' missing.
On another point only maybe 5 of the injured players would get in ahead of this team Rashford-Martial-Matic- Herrera-Lingard ? And Rashford is actually on the bench.
Come on guys, this team is good enough to beat Palace, Olé at the wheel.

    Stealth Fred Fred.

I'd be ok with Young playing as a winger if it was on the left. He's had plenty of good games for us there over the last few years. But can't see him doing much on the right, which is surely where Ole wants him. Might as well have just gone with Chong.

Although if he fancies banging in a hat trick I won't complain.

Think you'll see more of him trading passes with Dalot and the faster lad running past him and providing the assists. Leaving Young to cover if they win the ball back and catch us on the break.

Young on the right, Sanchez on the left, Lukaku in the middle.

Maybe we are doing this because our hands are tied, but those players in those positions have been experimented before and found to be ineffective.

    Completely unfounded prediction:

This will be a strange game. Crystal Palace will seem to be the dominant party but lose to our counterattacks: 1-3 to us including a goal from Fred

    (i know, i know)

Strange, the app has Dalot in the midfield four??

10/11 in my team selection, slipped up on Pereira as opposed to Fred in the midfield.
Regardless, COYR. Keep the run going.

You're making the mistake of thinking price is relative to quality. We've wasted a shit load of money, hence the weak squad

Young at RW is good thinking. Some of us were almost forgetting he is actually a winger by trade, and if nothing else, having two players who can play right back to team up on their winger won't hurt if we're under the cosh.

It does seem to mean Sanchez is back on the left where he hasn't been great, but we did bring him for that position in fairness.

A big night for Lukaku, Sanchez and Fred.

If it really is a front 3 of Young-Lulaku-Sanchez then we are in for a long and frustrating night

Young's days as a winger are far behind him, Lukaku has been utter pants as a lone central forward and there is perhaps almost enough evidence to suggest Sanchez is done on the right

Rather Chong was on the left with Sanchez and Lukaku shifting along, or a diamond with Pogba or Gomes behind those two

We won't know until kick-off, various outlets displaying different formations and player line-ups

Hope Sanchez and Lukaku get us goals. They really need to produce tonight.

10/11, I thought Young would get rested. Did'nt see both Young and Dalot starting.

I'd prefer Young at RB over Dalot, at least he has proven himself pretty well at RB compared to Dalot.
Going to be a tricky game, a tight 1-0 or 2-0 win for us.

MUTV also saying Young RW and Dalot RB.

I really hope it's not 4-3-3 with Young as a forward and Lukaku as the central striker.

Having Young tracking back should give him a fair bit of freedom. I sort of like the makeshift nature of the lineup. SAF always pulled those off, let's see if Ole can.

A big night for Lukaku, Sanchez and Fred.

He was a left winger not a right winger. He used to cut back and cross or shoot with his right foot on the left flank. He won't do much on the right flank.

Finally, Fred is starting:lol:. It has been awhile. I will be watching him closely. Lukaku will thrive of Young crosses.

People complain about how weak this team is, but this first eleven is packed with players who have huge wages and a point to prove. I m very excited for this game. Sucks that I have to watch it on a stream though

Depends on the stream quality ;)

Even with all the injuries I'd still back you to score v that Palace back 4 at least once.

Just whether you have enough energy to grind out another Leicester style narrow win I think.

Young will be on the right to double up on Zaha I imagine.

The coaches at United must rate Garner higher than Gomes considering the younger midfielder is selected ahead of Gomes.

it's weak compared to our best lineup, but it's certainly not weak compared to Palace's team.

    I would:

    De Gea

    Dalot....Smalling.....Lindelof....Shaw

    ......Fred.......Bailly.......Pogba

    ....Young.......Sanchez.......Lukaku

with run outs for Chong, Gomes & McTominay.

Young is a terrific athlete. On top of which, he is the captain. Given this, he will play almost every game for the rest of the season, as long as he is healthy.

It'll be a bit annoying if it's Young at RW, Sanchez on the left, Lukaku up front etc. You could do something a lot more exciting with those same 11 players.

    --------------De Gea-------------
    Young--Smalling-Lindelof-Shaw
    ------------McTominay-----------
    --------Fred--------Pogba--------
    Lukaku------Sanchez------Dalot
