Please start Hernandez up front. I just want to see what he offers

No changes to the team, please. The lads deserve it after the first twenty minutes v Newcastle.

    Subs: Fellaini, Hernandez and Herrera.

Was looking on the official website and the squad is there for tomorrows game. Unless they have cocked up there is no Valencia, so some rethinks in team selection might be needed.
    Name squad is:-
Romero, Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Shaw, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Mata, Januzaj, Memphis, Rooney, Johnstone, McNair, Carrick, Fellaini, Herrera, Young, Chicharito.

    ......................Romero.....................

    Darmian....Smalling....Blind........Shaw

    ...........Schneiderlin..Schweini...........

    ......Mata.........Rooney.......Depay.......

    .....................Fellaini.......................

18 member squad travelling to Belgium as per official twitter account
Romero, Johnstone; Blind, Darmian, McNair, Shaw, Smalling; Carrick, Fellaini, Herrera, Mata, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Young; Hernandez, Januzaj, Memphis, Rooney

Has Valencia been dumped or is he the first in line of our usual injuries? No Wilson, Lingard, Pereira or Blackett again. I'd say the squad named is the ones he trusts for the season. Maybe a few loan outs again. Only Johnstone and McNair from our kids.

Agreed, I actually think we played very well on Saturday and on another day we would have won be a few.

I think the only change we will see is Young in for Januzaj.

I think he does not want to take any chances with the return leg. Go out professionally, see out the game and make changes after 60 minutes to give rest to some important players that will be involved against Swansea. I for one am glad there is no Valencia, we might see McNair getting a run in second half.

    Romero
    Darmian--Smalling--Blind--Shaw
    Carrick--Schneiderlin
    Mata--Januzaj--Memphis
    Rooney

Make changes after 60 if we're comfortably in front.

Think I predicted same team as Newcastle game but would love to see Hernandez start this one with Rooney playing just off

It will be interesting to see how we set up for this one. I hope we ddon't not go defensive. If we score first, the tie is over.

its utd so we will do it the hard way, early goal for them, crowd up for it and 70mins fellani scores for 1-1 then 85mins they score again to have us panicking. Then we score again on counter attack in injury time , depay, 2-2.

Expect minimal rotation. Maaaybe Paddy in for Darmian and hopefully Herrera in for someone too.

Wait, thought the game was today? Grrrr.

Odd that the travelling squad is listed in such an order, though it wouldn't surprise me to see the same team start this game that faced Newcastle. LvG did say he was happy with the performance. The only real changes I can imagine are Carrick for Schweinsteiger and Herrera for Mata. If those changes aren't made in the starting line-up, they'll be made during the game if we're leading. Fellaini is very likely to get the nod, along with Hernandez and Young/Herrera if we need to score.

    Romero
    Darmian Smalling Blind Shaw
    Schweinsteiger Schneiderlin
    Januzaj Herrera Memphis
    Rooney
    ---
Johnstone; McNair; Carrick, Fellaini; Mata, Young; Hernandez

It is a strong, strong squad in my opinion, especially when we have Jones, Rojo and Valencia vying for squad places and the youngsters like Blackett, Pereira and Wilson. Do still think we need to sort out the de Gea situation quickly and maybe get another striker, but that's for another discussion!

Think this will be another open game and I expect us to not lose. Going for Herrera to start as I think Mata's overall level has dropped a bit in the last two games and Januzaj has looked a little too weak still to play the No.10 role. Fancy an assured performance with us taking it 0-1 and defending well, along with keeping a fair bit of possession again. Rooney to score.

Interesting that LVG took none of Wilson, Pereira or Lingard.

Nothing taken for granted, only thing we don't have is a wide playmaker from the bench, or a pacey winger.

I think LVG will start Fellaini and Januzaj, they will both be "desperate" to play, as the journos love to say.

Frodo Baggins taught me what to do with nasty, filthy journos!

Yes, sweet america, britian has a message for us: not violent enough, boys.

Side question but related: when the Hammers sing the "blowing bubbles" song do the rival fans sing it with "blowing homos"?

    Or maybe "blowing buddies?"

    I'll put the joint down.

It's an ideal game to rest some players. Especially Memphis who is a young player and played all the games till now without the rest.

Haven't seen an update on Bastian's injury cut but I think Carrick might start, otherwise it will probably be the same line-up that started on Saturday, unless LvG fancies trying Hernandez.

Romero, Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Shaw, Carrick, Schneid, Mata, Januzaj, Rooney, Young.
Rest Memphis. Think he might also rest Januzaj in favour of Fellaini. Schwein and Herrera to get some minutes.
