No attack! Need to bring Herrera on!How is Mata too weak to play the #10/central role, when we have Januzaj playing there who is somehow even weaker?Missed the first 15mins. Thought we've been okay, Adnan, Ander and Carrick need to improve though.Januzaj needs to hit the gym and get much stronger and develop some self confidence about himself. He has quality but he takes on players knowing himself he probably isn't going to get past. Needs confidence.

Why play Herrera when you have 2 players sat on the bench who are significantly better?Great until that bit at the end. No mesmerizing football, but good enough.

Carrick off one of the "sch" bros onNeed Schneiderlin on and Fellaini for Januzaj, who's been shocking. Shaw has been class.This midfield is very poor. All of Carrick, Herrera and Januzaj have been our worst performers. There's no way Herrera should come out for the second half, he was still flying in tackles on a yellow. Schneiderlin on at half time and I'd probably take Januzaj off for Fellaini later on as well. I don't get why Januzaj doesn't stay closer to Carrick and Herrera to give them passing options. There's just no link between midfield and attack. Brugge are laughably poor so it won't matter today, but we need to improve against better sides.

van Gaal so often frustrates by picking the wrong players for his formations.Sergio Romero has been terrific business for us so farGot to sort out that centre back position. Wasn't too long ago we were clamouring for Hummels but now we're saddled with Blind. He's not a commanding presence in the middle.Think the defence is missing Schneiderlin. Too open in the middle of the park, shame Herrera is having a poor game, lack of matches I suppose, Rooney superb finish, Romero done well.
