Not confident. They will be fired up for it. If we can get a goal we will be doing well. Two would kill the tie.

I would try and keep it nil nil and maybe nick an away goal on the break. I don't see us as favourites in this tie.

Why? They're 11th in La Liga. They've lost their last three games. Have scored less than us this season and conceded twice as many.

In what world are we not favourites?

Am I actually seeing people suggest we might just about manage to reduce them to only winning 2-0. This place is pathetic

Both the CL and EL games have had decisive results in the first leg. We also need such a result so that we can still keep fighting in the league.

Did they rest their players for the last few weeks, given they will finish mid table? They need to go for EL as much as we do.

Still put us down to go through over two legs.

They're way too weak defensively even with their A team. People keep repeating that they beat Barça and Madrid but that was with those teams playing the reserves and/or having key players injured. Never seen so many doubts about a team trying to beat Celta  don't worry, they aren't 2012 Bilbao

They will finish mid table for a reason though. They are an average team and United should beat them over two legs

I agree but it's not like we've been crushing supposed lesser teams this season.

They have defeated barca for the last three seasons.

Have we ever faced a team this good? I mean, they beat Barca and Madrid, they must be the best in the world.

They are on the downward spiral in the last three months. Think they won only 3 in the last 12 games in La Liga with 7 defeats. Aren't particularly convincing in Europe either. Not that we've been consistent enough to make it an easy tie, mind.

Barça has this weird thing of being over-confident when playing away in the north of Spain. Much has been said about their Anoeta curse but everytime they lost there it was by playing a lot of subs. Barça trashed Celta in the Camp Nou and the sky blues didn't put a fight at all. Also Celta typically start the season stronger and then fade towards the end. Berizzo is a Bielsa disciple and the squad can't put up with the intensity for the whole season. They've tried to rest players these weeks but I don't think it's enough to overcome United. Your lot is very solid defensively and with some good counter-attacking you can easily disarm Celta

Dont get this 'they'll be fired up' talk. As if we don't know what's on the line.

If we're not fired up for a semi final then we are fecked.

Somehow don't fancy our chances tonight. Celta are strictly mid table and in wonky form even for that. But we look so cream crackered at the moment that any team that can play with high energy has a chance against us. The result against Chelsea the other day, and funnily enough the last 10 minutes against Swansea, makes me think (hope?) that we're just keeping our powder dry and will be able to up the tempo when the time comes. But still, I'd rip your arm off if you offered me a score draw tonight.

Gonna be difficult guys. They have been resting their players last few games and are fresh. They are strong at home and will come at us from the off with a hostile crowd. We have to try to survive the early onslaught and hit them on the counter

I'm terribly pessimistic. 0-0 away, 1-1 at home with us missing loads of chances would be pretty typical for this season.

David Moyes' Sociedad beat Barca. I've heard good things about Vigo but I seem to think we've had this with every team we've played so far. European semi, getting nervous now.

By some of the logic in here, Real Madrid should dread playing Watford because they beat us 3-1 earlier this season.

Ballsy prediction - United to win 4-1.

Difficult to guess the team tonight. Not many certainties, only Valencia, Herrera and Rashford, I would suggest. I reckon something like this:

    Romero
    Valencia Bailly Blind Darmian
    Fellaini Herrera Pogba
    Mkhitaryan Rashford Lingard

If they want to attack us or try and control the game, then we will be delighted to play on the break.

With fellaini being suspended in the league hes a safe bet too i'd say

    Gone for:

    DDG
    Valencia - Smalling - Jones - Darmian
    Herrera
    Fellaini - Mata - Pogba
    Lingard - Rashford
Despite having faith in him up until now I think Mourinho will be pragmatic and play DDG over Romero as DDG has experience at this stage of the EL (an importance he heaped on Mata)

Although Bailly is fit, I think Mourinho is going to be cautious with him and avoid losing him for the rest of the season.

I expect Lingard and Fellaini to help Valencia on the left hand side with Sisto and Pogba and Herrera to help Darmian with Aspas.

It looks attacking on paper but I expect them to be compact and deep for the majority of the game with Herrera, Mata and Pogba looking to break the whizzkids upfront into space behind whenever possible.

I'd play DDG given we have no defence and we need his one man defence trick more than ever

Celta can be a very difficult opponent on their day, however we really should be able to soak up anything they throw at us.
My feeling is that we'll play it tight and hold shape whilst looking to break fast and hurt them.
They know that they need to win tonight to keep them in the tie. This will play into our hands. They're going to come at us right from the off, which will leave space for our forwards to exploit. Pogba and Herrera will find the passes needed to pick out the runs from Rashford, Martial and Mkhitaryan.
The longer the game goes on the more vunerable they will become, and I really think that we have too much quality not to take advantage of their need to score..
Jose is a master at setting up his teams also, so relax and enjoy the game guys..
    I'm predicting a 2-0 victory

Can anyone pm me a reliable river I can not watch?

Yes. Maybe Blind should be in there instead of Darmian? Just in case one of Smalling or Jones gets re-injured.
