He won't have his favorites. That's why we blamed Jose . Blind favoritism.
Everyone will get a chance ole said over the next weeks.
Matic is still our best player in that position. Any manager will play him. It's just a large portion of caf members whith blind hatred for Mourinho that have convinced themselves that he's the reason we've been poor and Pogba apparently is somehow restricted because of him.

Good line up. You do realize we have Young, Jones, Matic and Lingard playing. There are 4 players who should never never be starting for a club of our size. It is a good line up for a team that wants to be around 6th position I guess. Dalot, Bailly, Fred were all better options

Bailly I totally agree. But I can understand Ole wanting to start the captain and the experienced Young instead of Dalot. Fred hasn't been playing well at all lately and it might not be the game to put him on from start today. Lingard has his ups and downs but plays better with Pogba and the other attackers starting today.

You never know, they can all play really well today, or the complete opposite.

Feel so sorry for the Lingard haters, Ole is clearly a big fan of his, better get used to seeing him starting plenty of games, as usual.

Is this based on something he said? Not that I’m upset, just curious as to what makes you say this.

nooooooooooo Ole, Jones, Really? Would have also played Dalot and stuck Greenwood on the bench

Don't think I can ever get too excited about our team while the likes of Jones and Young are still here, no matter who the manager is. But whatever, still looking forward to a United match for the first team in ages

How will we line up do you think?

    -----------DDG------------
    Young--Jones--Lindelof--Shaw
    -----------Matic----------
    -----Herrera---Pogba------
    --Lingard----------Martial--
    ----------Rashford---------

    Would be my guess.

I think you have it spot on. Pogba will play higher up the pitch for sure, more as a number 10 I imagine

Bit annoying to see exactly the same team

Was hoping to see more of Dalot and less of Matic, Young etc but let’s see how it goes.

    Spot on.

A Jose team bar Pogba. No change in lineup even with a new manager. Now let's see if there is any change in the style of play, intensity and result.

    This would be my guess.

United have Huddersfield on Boxing Day, that's four days from now. Squad rotation will be in full force. Today's lineup is fine and quite expected, especially for an away match in the league.

Jeez man Jose is gone. Get behind the people actually repping our badge today

Ole basically said Carrick and the fellows would choose the first eleven for the first game, because they know them better then he does. Nothing surprising about this. Now, let's support OLEgend and enjoy
We' are winning this one comfortably

    15:40Samuel Luckhurst
Solskjaer's already made a big step in the right direction
One step in the right direction for Solskjaer is the exclusion of Antonio Valencia from the squad, even though he is fit.

Valencia is literally the worst permanent captain in the history of the club. Like Pogba, he undermined the previous manager and also disrespected the club by tweeting team news on the day of the game. His lack of communication does not help, either. At the risk of sounding like a Brexiteer, Valencia has a responsibility to speak on behalf of the squad and club from time to time and he refuses to do so. He will not be missed in Cardiff.

    Luckhurst is scum.

Right we have done the line up predictions, we have done the score predictions, we have debated tactics. Onto the most important debate. What minute will Jones either a) Pull up injured or b) Make a gaff that will give away a goal. I am going for minute 60

Ole likes himself a 4213 so hopefully:

    De Gea
    Young Lindelof Jones Shaw
    Herrera Matic
    Pogba
    Lingard Martial Rashford

feck off with starting Matic. Seriously. I dont care how much ground he covers. He's too slow, cant create from deep and cant spot danger.

Jones is our best defender when on form. But his last few weeks have been shockingly bad.

I can see why he's been picked, though. Ole likes to play out of the back and Jone/Lindelof our most comfortable CBs on the ball.

    Explain this then.

Exactly and Bailly and Lindelof were a disaster together in the early part of the season.

    He apparently favours the 4-2-3-1.

With that in mind, Rashford is much more suited to be the lone striker than Martial.

Pogba has really poor movement between the lines, but if we play with a high tempo, that won't matter too much. He'll be in the hole.

Lingard and Martial will likely spend lots of time getting into the box.

All that being said, hopefully the formation will be super flexible, 2007-style.

So imo the starting positoins will be:

    -------------Rashford
    Martial -- Pogba -- Lingard
    -----Matic-------------Herrera

I'm not even bothered about the line up. Just want the win for Ole. Fecking players need to give their all today.

A Jose team bar Pogba. No change in lineup even with a new manager. Now let's see if there is any change in the style of play, intensity and result.

He's had less than 48 hours with the squad. D9nt expect miracles, just enjoy seeing 20legend as our coach.

Fans brought back down to reality. Matic, Jones and Lingard starting. All players that get destroyed on here.

Teams don't become good overnight, just ask Emery and Sarri ;)

Don't get the crying, we got Phelan and Ole, they're both coaches. We still have to do with the same squad as Jose.

Matic is pretty much our only natural defensive midfielder and we need to play one considering how our CB's are on the ball. As much as I'm annoyed by his form this season.

I remember when a few people were equating Phil Jones to Duncan Edwards when he was new to the team.

How do we know that Carrick and McKenna picked today's team. I see a bunch of people posting that but what's the source?

Matic is still our best player in that position. Any manager will play him. It's just a large portion of caf members whith blind hatred for Mourinho that have convinced themselves that he's the reason we've been poor and Pogba apparently is somehow restricted because of him.

I don't think many of us who backed Jose through to last couple of months thought Matic was anything other than atrocious. Nothing to do with Jose, Matic has just been terrible.

I'm not sure why every viewpoint has to be through the lenses of supporting or not-supporting Jose.

Win this game and the gap to top 4 is in single digit with more than half a season to play.

Surprised so many people have already thrown the towel.

You're asking for trouble playing Jones. Let's hope he give a wretched performance and convince Ole send him down to reserves.
