Can't see us picking three points. Can't even see us scoring.

    People wanting Rashford to start:lol:

The guy is 19 and has ran himself into the ground for the last two games. Needs to be on the bench.

I'd play 3-5-2 with Martial and Rooney as the centre strikers. Young and Darmian as the wing backs. We really need to be careful with team selection as we don't need want more players pulling up. Even someone like Bailly may need resting.

We're not really in the luxury of resting any players now plus if a kid at the age of 19 can't play continuously then who could ? Carrick ?

Interesting to see what Mourinho will do defensively and upfront. I'd go with Mensah and Martial as the central striker but I think Mourinho will line up like this:
    DDG
    Young Bailly Blind Darmian
    Herrera Fellaini Pogba
    Lingard Rooney Rashford

Herrera to assist and score another?

I'm sure he'll be roaring to go after sitting out tonight's game.

    Rashford

    Martial------Mkhitaryan

    Young Pogba Fellaini Herrera

    Blind TFM Bailly

    De Gea

Subs: Romero, Darmian, Shaw, Axel, Carrick, Lingard, Rooney

Interesting comments about Jones and Smalling needing to be "brave" to try to do everything to accelerate the process of recovering from injuries. Right now with most of our first XI knackered, I don't want to risk anything more than we have to, so:

    De Gea
    Fosu-Mensah---Tuanzebe---Blind---Darmian
    Young---Herrera---Fellaini---Lingard
    Rooney
    Martial
Gives Blind a game at centre-back to get back in the swing of things since we'll need him in the Europa games, and gives Tuanzebe an equally important game since we'll inevitably need him to start soon, may as well use the league games beginning on Sunday.

I'd be looking to hit them like a freight train, get some early goals and then get Rashford and maybe Valencia off the pitch asap to give them a bit more recovery time. Better that way round than leave them out and then have to bring them on to try and rescue a bad scoreline.

Lot resting on Herrera's shoulders. Almost everyone else is going to be knackered. He needs to show that he can be just as impressive against lower-table opposition as he is in the big games.

    Rashford

    Martial------Mkhitaryan

    Young Pogba Fellaini Herrera Valencia

    Blind TFM Bailly

    De Gea

Subs: Romero, Darmian, Shaw, Axel, Carrick, Lingard, Rooney
Unfortunately we can't have 12 players on the pitch

    Can see rooney starting this

    _________DDG_________
    Young Bailly Blind Darmian
    __Herrera Fellaini Pogba__
    Mkhitaryan Rashford Rooney

Given how many of our players played 120 minutes tonight on top of the tough Chelsea game I wouldn't be adverse to seeing this line-up.

We need to utilize Rooney somehow. I'm really scared of Bailly getting an injury, but i guess we can't do anything but play him.

    Rooney
    Martial Fellaini Lingard
    Pogba Ander
    Damo Blind Bailly Young
    DDG

    Or

    Martial Rooney
    Young Fella Ander Pogba Jesse
    Blind Bailly Damo
    DDG

Injuries couldn't have come at a worst time. 3 important PL games in a week; two of them winnable.

Would go with 3 at the back and try to nick a goal.

    De Gea
    Herrera Bailly Blind
    Young Pogba Fellaini Darmian
    Lingard
    Rooney Martial

I ll take a chance and play Martial upfront. Rashford looked spent last night. It won't be easy to recover well for Sunday. I think Rashford should start from bench.

Going to be a tough game as Burnley are good at home and we'll be missing quite a few players. However, we're really good away and players like Rashford, Herrera and Mkhitaryan are in good form.

    de Gea
    Valencia Bailly Blind Darmian
    Herrera Fellaini Pogba
    Mkhitaryan Rashford Martial
    ---
Romero; Fosu-Mensah, Tuanzebe, Young; Carrick, Lingard; Rooney

Hopefully the injuries to Rojo and Ibrahimovic aren't as bad as they looked, but I think it'll be impossible for them to be ready for this game at least. Smalling has stepped up his recovery I've heard, ahead of schedule, but I doubt he will make it back by the City game. In all likelihood we've only got the above 18 players (plus Shaw) for the next 2-3 games.

Shaw had cramps during extra time so seems the most likely one who played 120 minutes to be omitted. I wouldn't be surprised to see Young start at full back instead of Valencia and Lingard / Rooney in over Mkhitaryan - Jose will probably want to limit the game-time of everyone who played the full 120, but at least two or three of them will have to start IMO (Bailly, Pogba, and probably Rashford).

We need to win here. I think we can take a draw against City if we do and still have hopes of a Top 4 finish.

I hope we rest Pogba and Rashford.

We're still capable of winning without them and we really need to keep our key players injury free now that they're dropping like flies

I'm not sure we'll get something from this.

Guys are tired, played 2 hours yesterday night and we'll only recover until Sunday afternoon.

Without so many players (Ibra, Mata, Jones, Rojo, Smalling) and with so many tired player, I don't really see how we can do it.

Anyway we'll have to fight for it, we'll probably try to be strong defensively (5 at the back ?) and exploit something on set pieces (we're a small team no?)

To me the Europa League is the main priority, BUT, we must make sure to give the best before we'll play a fresh team at City, so I'd rotate the squad on Sunday

    (in bold the 'tired' ones)

    ------------------------------------De Gea------------------------------------
    --------------------Darmian--------Bailly--------Blind-----------------------
    Valencia/Mensah---------Herrera--------Fellaini----------------------Young
    ------------------------------------Lingard-------------------------------------
    ----------------------------Rooney--------Martial------------------------------

Or we can field with even fresher players.

    ------------------------------------De Gea------------------------------------
    Mensah------------------Bailly--------------Blind-------------------Darmian
    ---------------------------Fellaini-----------Herrera--------------------------
    Young------------------------------Lingard-----------------------------Martial
    -------------------------------------Rooney-----------------------------------

with Rashforf, Mkhitaryan and Pogba coming of the bench

I would say De Gea, Darmian, Bailly, Young, Herrera, Rooney, Pogba are highly likely to start. Might be too much for Axel to come in. Might have to be something like Carrick Blind and Bailly maybe. Probably going to be a bridge too far at some point with our injuries. Whether it be Sunday or against City, hopefully the news on Rojo and Zlatan isn't too bad.

    rotation time.....

    ---------------------De Gea---------------------
    Darmian---Bailly-----Blind-------Young
    ---------------Herrera---Fellaini-------------
    Lingard----------Rooney-------'---Martial
    --------------------Rashford---------------------

be tempted to use Tuanzebe/Fosu-Mensah in this but think Bailly/Blind need to develop some understanding

doubt Rashford/Bailly will last the 90 mins but freshness important as Burnley will tear into us... this will be like a cup final for them

its times like this you realise how light our squad is

I hope we rest Pogba and Rashford.

We're still capable of winning without them and we really need to keep our key players injury free now that they're dropping like flies

Resting Rashford now that Zlatan is out? Don't think so... Valencia needs a rest, bring in Darmian.

Could Jose do something a bit off the wall here?

Three at the back using Blind, Bailly, and TFM, Ashley Young LWB, Darmian RWB. Pogba and Herrara middle two, and a front line of Martial, Rashford and Lingard.

A step too far for TFM maybe? and not great for Pogba but might it allow Thursdays unused players to take up the work for 90mins.

    Just a thought.

We did not need two injuries and 120mins last night. At all. Pure bare bones going into a tricky away game against a team who are resolute at home and hard to break down:

    -----------------DDG-----------------
    Darmian----Bailly----Blind-----Young
    -----------Herrera----Fellaini--------
    Lingard--------Pogba----------Mkhitaryan
    ----------------Martial------------------

SUBS - Rooney (Mkhitaryan), Rashford (Martial), Fosu-Mensah (Lingard)

    Burnley 0 - 1 Man United
Rashford (last minutes of the game).

Burnley have been unbelievable at home this season. 3 away draws are the only away points they have this season (i think).

Going to be a tough one this one. I work with a few Burnley fans too & would love nothing more than to stuff them!

The guy is 19 and has ran himself into the ground for the last two games. Needs to be on the bench.

A 3-5-2 would require us to play with 3 centre backs..

Bailly will have to play unless you want a back 3 of Tuanzebe, Blind and Fosu Mensah.

The guy is 19 and has ran himself into the ground for the last two games. Needs to be on the bench.

I disagree, i think it won't do him too much harm. He's had a relatively quiet season compared to Pogba / Ibra etc.

    He's 19 & i think he'll be fine to handle the occasion!

Unlikely that many who played 120 minutes start this one. With that in mind:

    DDG
    Darmian Bailly Blind Young
    Fellaini Herrera Pogba
    Lingard Rooney Martial

Subs: Romero, Shaw, Fosu-Mensah, Tuanzebe, Carrick, Mkhi, Rashford

Don't think Tuanzebe or Fosu-Mensah have done enough in Mourinho's eyes to warrant starts. Even Blind is only getting games at centre back now that the manager's hand is being forced.

Expect Burnley to edge this one. We don't seem to play well there and this is their biggest game of the season, considering Blackburn are in a different division.

This is going to be a tough match. Why cant they have it on Monday.

Would rather have two day gap before Burnley and three for City.

    ----------De Gea----------

    darmian-Bailly-Blind-Young

    -----------Carrick----------

    ------Pogba-----Herrera----

    --Lingard--Martial--Mkhi-

"Herrera plays, he didn't play today," Mourinho said. "One yellow card and he'll miss the semi-finals. I was thinking about him and Fellaini both at the same time [but] because I did the change with Marcos Rojo I couldn't do and he didn't play.

"So Herrera is fresh to play. Ashley Young is fresh to play and who else? Nobody else is fresh to play."

Kudos to whoever gets the right line up for this one !

Think we'll see Lingard and Martial upfrond and Herrera Fellaini in midfield. Maybe Mkhitaryan on the right and Rooney on the left

Young, Bailly, Blind and Darmian as a back four
