Welcome to the US my friend. Atleast you're not on the west coast by the sound of it. You don't have to suffer their games at 4:30am man!
Yep. Fortunate enough to end up at the east coast!

Wasn't too crazy about surrendering possession against Leicester but our counters had some lovely exchanges on the breakaways. Think that was what Jose meant when he spoke of signs of how we want to play.

The Brighton game will be interesting to watch as I think it will better show us if we've improved when we try to break down a parked bus. Improved fluidity in possession or more of the same tumescent passing from the second half of last season?

We could score more if Sanchez has been careful with his passing, he could have 1 or 2 assist if Lukaku buried the chance. I can see our third final decisions is improving compared to last season.

Apparently Alexis not in matchday squad? Didn't travel with the team...

I think there were signs in the Leicester match that some of our attacking moves were drilled. Our attacks broke down mainly due to mistimed or inaccurate passes rather than attackers simply looking out of ideas, which can be easily improved with more training. Would personally have more patience with Jose if he persists in this direction, even if he wins nothing again this season.

Not sure if the Brighton match will show us anything different though - given that we're the away team, Brighton might try to take the initiative and we could easily just surrender possession and play on the counter again. Hope I'm wrong and we'll try to take control of the match.

    De gea

    Darmian :(
    Bailly
    Lindelof
    Shaw

    Pereira
    Fred
    Pogba

    Lingard
    Lukaku
    Rashford

Wouldn’t be surprised to see fellaini feature and would expect at least 30 mins from Martial.

It's important we win this as our next match is against Spurs. Last season, we had a strong start and tailed off towards the end but we secured 2nd cause of our strong start. Hopefully, we keep it this way.

You're absolutely right, there could be no other possible explanation.

He's not getting dropped and there's no reason for him to travel alone out of all the other squad. Must have picked a knock or something in the last training session. Happens all the time.

Or maybe he had to take his dog to the vet and travelled separately.

I'm not saying you're wrong, it just annoys me when people state things as fact, when they don't know the facts.

I didn't but give any other possible explanation for him not travelling.

Couldn’t agree more and let’s hope it’s a good win because the wolves (media) are never far from our door these days, not that we should care, but getting a good win here and beating Spurs might shut them cnuts up for a bit (wishful thinking)

I would have liked to see Alexis given a good run of games, but i’m happy enough to see either of Martial or Rashford given a chance on the left flank, so it doesn’t bother me too much if he is out.

    Can’t wait till kick-off!

Apparently no Sanchez, so I'm expecting Lingard to be drafted into the 18-man squad with Rashford retaining his position and Lukaku starting:

    de Gea
    Darmian Bailly Lindelof Shaw
    Fred Pereira Pogba
    Mata Lukaku Rashford
    ---
Grant; Smalling, Young; McTominay, Fellaini, Lingard; Martial

    Woke up surprisingly positive.

Fred-Pogba-Pereira is one tasty midfield. Lukaku back up front with Lingard, Rashford and Martial to choose from. Lindelof and Bailly with a good partnership at the back. Big Dave in the sticks.

    Let's have it!

    Shame if Sanchez is out.

Was hoping he’d hit the ground running this season, even after a poor first game.

What time is ko and what channel what happened to sanchez dropped or injured thanks all

Met a lovely man in supermarket yesterday who was the spit of Sir Matt Busby, and he was wearing a United top! Couldn't resist telling him he looked like Sir Matt (wish I could have taken a photo.) He said he gets that all the time but went on to tell me that he used to be a taxi driver and had the real Sir Matt in the back of his cab twice, including one time to take him to Glasnevin cemetery to pay his respects to Liam/Billy Whelan.
He said we will win 2-0 today. Not going to argue with "Sir Matt!"

Young, Martial and Lukaku in for Darmian, Sanchez and Rashford hopefully.

Really hope we keep with the Bailly Lindelof partnership and the Fred-Pereira-Pogba trio in midfield.

Apparently he didn’t travel with the squad for some reason.

Oh, I was unaware that was the case.

This is the latest team news information:

Mourinho is without the six players who missed the win over Leicester through injury.

Nemanja Matic recently underwent surgery on an abdominal issue picked up at the World Cup, while Diogo Dalot has also been under the knife due to a knee problem and he remains some way off his club debut. Sergio Romero and Marcos Rojo also had surgeries after being injured on international duty.

Antonio Valencia limped out of the pre-season draw with San Jose Earthquakes with a calf injury, while Ander Herrera is out after developing a hamstring problem during the loss to Bayern Munich in United's final summer fixture.

No mention of Sanchez being injured, so let's hope you are wrong. In the event that he is unable to play, at least Martial will get a start (probably).

    United Hour podcast

Just under four hours until the match. If you fancy yourself something to listen to to get you in a United mood, we have the podcast for you.

In this week's edition, host Imran (@Annihilate Now!) returns and is joined by Nik (@Rood) and Alex (@Alock1) to discuss Manchester United's season opener against Leicester City. They also take a little time out to mention Paul Pogba - the goal, the performance, the quotes and his relationship with Mourinho.

If you are interested in being a contributor on the podcast this season, message one of the three names tagged above with a clip of you recording something so the gang can check the sound quality as they have had issues with that in the past with guests.

If you have any questions you would like the team to answer for tonight's recording, post in the above thread, message one of the three names tagged above or tweet the United Hour podcast directly with your question.

    Last minute lineup questions

Just under an hour until the lineups are out and there are a few question marks over what the starting XI will be.

    Who will the fullbacks be?

Last match, Darmian and Shaw started with Young on the bench having just returned to training the week before. Both Darmian and Shaw had been linked with futures away from the club but Shaw made headlines by scoring his first competitive goal against Leicester while Darmian couldn't secure a move to Italy before their transfer window closed. Will Young come back in the team - and who for? If Shaw was to start today, it would be a big show of faith from Mourinho into a player who was dropped as soon as Valencia and Young returned from injury and suspension last winter.

    Pereira or Herrera?

Last match, Pereira did well in the absence of Herrera. Is Pereira now above Herrera in the pecking order for that number 6 role or will Mourinho opt for the experience of Herrera for a tough away game against Brighton?

Last time we played Brighton, we lost 1:0 but half the team which started that match aren't expected to start today.

    Where's Sanchez?

It was reported last night that Sanchez did not board the plane for the game against Brighton. It could be that he made his own way there, though unlikely. If he is missing, Lukaku should slot back into the starting lineup but who will join Lukaku and Rashford - Mata, Lingard or Martial? With Mata being the fittest of the three, my guess is him.

    Damien's predicted XI

    De Gea

    Young Bailly Lindelof Shaw
    Pereira
    Fred Pogba
    Mata Lukaku Rashford
