I’m sorry to say out of all the managers we’ve had since SAF, Mourinho is the only one who can sort this out and get us back in the right direction. We know he’d have made changes at 2-0 without a shadow of doubt.

I am livid at everyone everything. But just keeping the head calm and thinking...DDG finished the game with his two mistakes. After that every player gave up, which is in their nature.

I don't know what the feck I am saying. My mind is cooked up completely.

Atleast we did well in pre-season.

That's the funny part, it's like many of the fans praising our pre-season never seen a pre-season game in their life.
Everything is 3x times slower, less physical and energetic. That's why our possession-play from the back football worked.
It's like hitting a boxsack vs a real opponent.

He's been gone a fortnight shy of nine months and two transfer windows, what are the two proper managers who we replaced him with waiting for?

Two transfer windows? You counting January that was vetoed vs RR as to keep money for permanent manager on summer, nice. RR aint proper manager, if he was, that shitter wouldnt sell out his ways and ETH getting everything he deserves right now with clean slate bullshit.

I’m 100% team ETH and will back him all the way.. however.. he needs to be way more ruthless. Saying this group is good enough isn’t the one.. they are not. Time to get ruthless. I cannot believe that we’re two games into the season with pretty much the same first team as last season. It’s not good enough and I’m hoping and preying that the penny drops real quick.

I said it could end 4-0 to Brentford after the second goal went in. I didn't think we'd be 4-0 down at half time. This is almost as bad as anything that happened last season. I say almost cos I still remember what Liverpool did to us and, even though they are a superior team to Brentford, its still Liverpool. It always hurts more when its Liverpool.

Who would've thought after Brighton smacked us up in May we'd be staring at a worse result two games into the new season? The Board were warned at the time that the squad needed open heart surgery. The Board did nothing. Now look at us.

There is every chance that we end August bottom of the table, potentially with zero points. Is anyone still laughing at Rangnick's suggestion that we need major surgery done on this squad?

It's sad having supported the club for nearly 40 years, I'm listening to the commentary on 5 live, and all I can do is laugh, the situation is so ridiculous yet not at all surprising.
longer for me. they've never made me cry before but bloody close to it now but as you say, not in the least bit surprising

Well I’ve been hammered on here before for slagging off de Gea but surely he has to go. Schoolboy error for first goal and passing out from the back to a player who is clearly marked. I know he plays behind a shambles of a defence and midfield but his mistakes are what results in goals. He is too comfortable due to lack of competition. God help us against Liverpool.
I also am losing faith that EtH can do anything about this load of detritus. It will take a lot more than de Jong to solve these problems. Rashford and Sancho are posers, Shaw is not a defender and Dalot too, as for midfield we are just an incompetent mess. Viva la Revolution.

Yeah I would definitely support 3 subs here. Malacia for Shaw. Varane for Maguire. Donny for Bruno. Move a midfielder deeper to support the deepest guy.

Maybe even take off De Gea for Heaton, disastrous today.

If Ten Hag has any iota of man management skill in his body, he sends a message at half time. 5 subs.

Heaton for De Gea, Varane for Maguire, Malacia for Shaw, Garner for Fred, Garnacho for Rashford.

Then on Monday morning he walks up to the executive office and gives them an ultimatum. Either they back him with a real team or he walks. He's too young and promising to have his career killed by overpaid clowns.
He shouldn’t have waited until half time.

I wish it was that simple.

It would be just as bad with Varane. The only players showing any heart are the new players and soon the rot will get to them and they won't have any heart left either.
There’s so many problems. But we need to find the solutions now. Where to go?

    I have some ideas:

Sell Maguire. Get rid of Ronaldo.
(These two have the most power in the dressing room and we keep underperforming. So both should just resign)

Stick with EtH. Buy a new Midfield.
Rotate Martinez, Varane, Bailly and Lindelof for the CB positions.

    what do you think?

Fred off, Varane on. Move Martinez to number 6, push Erikson to number 8. Malacia for Shaw and garnacho for Rashford. He has to make 3 changes in this half, get the overpaid names off, these shits need to know this is unacceptable. They cannot keep blaming every manager, they are the problem.

You can't go pragmatic. Now is the time to instill the brand of football we're going to use going forward. If the players can't play that style (leading to losses in the league), that is when you replace everyone who can't perform their duties.
I agree, but if your are gonna do that you have to have players who can play that type of football.
You can’t play De Gea if you want to play that style of football.
Pragmatic or not Eriksen isn’t a holding midfielder.
Martinez maybe great on the ball ( though we haven’t seen that yet, but you also have to be able to defend at premier league quality which He doesn’t look like he can)

I don’t mind losing games, shite happens. But seeing these players give in like that is unacceptable. Apart from ronaldo, i do not think anyone cares. They are walking up and down the pitch, no energy, no aggression, no spirit. Next liverpool is it? God help us
    Pool will rip us apart.

    1. Let a easy shot go right past you.
    ✅
    2. Do an uneccesary back pass right on top of your box that leads to a goal.
    ✅
    3. Have a one on one in which you stand straight in the middle, and don’t choose a side. Even though your defender has pushed the striker to his left left.
    ✅

What in the world are you on about?

    Right back at you.

It's not even just the fact that we shipped 4 goals. It's also our inability to score a fecking goal. Rashford is absolute fecking useless these days.

This is really bitter right now, but I’m going to absorb this game in all its awful glory so I can truly enjoy what it’s like when we’re back on top one day
I'll be there with you ...at the start of the next millennium.

True. I was expecting a sub at 2-0, sadly he just sat there and expected the team to bounce back, as if they have ever bounced back mentally.

There’s no great answer for the second half. I’m tempted to say send in the kids, but we all know that would invite disaster.
they don’t deserve that pressure tbh.

Let these wankers take the walk of shame

if we lose at truly awful Southampton, and we easily could, then there is the actual chance of going down

Forget the first half. Win the second half and we build from that.
    - that’s what ETH should tell the players

we already lost the game, guys
