Garnacho hopefully will turn up and show these numpties how to finish.They would love to be the team that stopped us from clinching a CL spot. They have that to play forEasy draw/lossEven though we are relatively poor, the likes of Bournmouth, Brighton etc will always give 110% against United.

Not comparing the quality of the sides, but their stature. "Smaller" clubs still treat playing United as if we're still the same club/quality of 10+ years ago.

They can treat United game as they see fit what it comes down to is United's lack of quality to consistently get results .
When we were good in past these things didn't matter much in grand scheme of things and they won't once we get our act together and progress from occasional top 4 team to regular title challengers .
We make those clubs look stronger than they are away from home by constantly hoofing the ball back to them because of De Gea and unable to take the sting out of the crowd by holding the ball.
It encourages their fans and makes the atmosphere hostile.

To an extent he's correct. Look at Brighton ran their socks off against us, next game lose 5-1. West ham beat us 1-0 then lose to Brentford who could barely string a pass together in their previous game against the scousers.

Those of us of a certain age know that even when we were relatively shite in the late 70s and 80s to beat United was still the most important win for ‘smaller clubs’. That comes with our history and mystique created by the babes and the holy trinity in the 60s. Beating city? Impressive win nowadays no doubt - but the cache associated with beating United is still intact despite our decade of relative underperformance.
No they don't. We still have 2 matches at home, we only need 6 points. Even if we lost this we'd still have a chance to get top 4 with 2 games at Old Trafford where we have failed to win this season only 6 times in all competitions and in 2 of those we finished the game with 10 men.Last edited:
