Not expecting any fireworks from this match. Martial is off form, Rooney is Rooney.

    1-0 Ibra.

The EPL is crazy. Mournho is our coach, we have just signed a host of quality players and i'm still not confident of a win at Bournemouth. I'm not convinced City will beat Sunderland either. Ridiculous league.

Is Martial injured? I haven't seen him in the pictures.

Ridiculous in a good kinda way, right?

I think the competitiveness is great.

Both Smalling and Pogba suspended for this game so we can't field our strongest side but i am confident of a win, our team is much stronger than last season even with both omissions.

Silly question but has a side every put out all all black outfield 10?
If not United could make some history this year

    Jose Mourinho ......

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho: "We feel that we are candidates to win the title. Many more think the same way as us but they are afraid to say it. They prefer to play a defensive game in words.

    Hilarious.
Confidence like that has to rub off on players, or they chose the wrong profession.

Think we will scrape a nervy win 1-2. Bournemouth are not the biggest so I reckon Fellaini will start again. Same team as the shield I reckon although how the awful Rooney keeps his place but a brilliant, creative, pacy and skillful player like Mhkitaryan sits on the bench is beyond me.

Bournemouth will have their atmosphere and nothing to lose attitude again, just like last year. United have to kill the tension early, first 20 minutes will be important. Hopefully Bailly can be settled alongside of Blind.

Tricky/tough first match and Bournemouth are a well drilled team with a clear way to play. Just glad that all the BS will come to a stop and it's all about results now.

Couldn't we say that, precisely because of them being not the biggest, Herrera might start ahead of Fellaini, because we'll need a more mobile player? You've just helped me decide my prediction.

Regarding the #10 situation, none seems a perfect choice at the moment: Mkhitaryan seems not yet adapted and might be risky to try him on a first away game; Rooney would be the apparent natural choice for Mourinho, but he's in miserable form now; Mata would be the best option, if his form was taken into account more than the pecking order.

Yeah I would pick Mata also ahead of Rooney for sure.
I would also choose a more mobile player than Fellaini but I think Jose will aim to capitalise on set plays to ensure we get off to the best start. Bailly, Fellaini and Zlatan should be too much for Bournemouth and I think we will win ugly and not in a fluid attacking way based on pre season so far and the LvG hangover. I dont mind one bit though as long as we get the three points, our best team and best style of play will surely come over the next few games.

How come you can't make a score prediction of more than 5 goals? We need it for Hull damnit!

Can't wait for the season to finally start again!

Hope to see Lewis Cook for Bournemouth aswell, looks talented.

Because of Sunday's game. Guys in form and would be good to let his momentum continue. Plus there are some that are saying Mkhi hasn't quite adapted yet, but I call bollocks. I would prefer him to start and keep Lingard in, but that would mean Mhki takes Rooney's 10 role...not going to happen.

Form? Mourinho use the game to give some of them fitness, he's not going to bench one of his best players that started training since beginning of July for the first game of the season. Mhkitaryan will start surely.

    4-0 win
If we win 4-0 or better then i'll give you my season ticket for the Southampton match.

No chance! Mkhitaryan's got to start. I really hope Jose does the right thing with Rooney if he ain't performing. Right now I'd even have Fellaini instead of Rooney or Carrick.

I'd imagine an African team has but I wouldn't be 100 per cent sure. Possibly a Caribbean one also, there's quite a few black people in those countries.

Shouldn't really matter though, as long as they perform I don't care.

    Obviously meant PL side buddy.
Even across the big leagues. Wouldn't it be a milestone moment?

Wenger did many years ago back in the day. Think it might have been around 03/04 or about that time. Could be wrong but think it was when they had players like Djourou, Kanu, Lauren, Vieira, Wiltord, Campbell, Toure, Henry etc. (that's 8 right there) in the squad. Some of the more enlightened Gooners on here might be able to enlighten us if they remember. But he definitely did it I'm sure.

Indeed otherwise it would mean Fellaini starts no matter what, which is possible, but... Well I don't know :).

We need to get an early goal. Building momentum in these starting games is key to give our players confidence after 2 years of sideways passing and pointless possession.

With a game again on Tuesday, we'll already need squad rotation.

Can Ibra play 3 games in 7 days?
