Why do all our managers make daft decisions at this stage of the competition? Mourinho benched Pogba against Sevilla, Ole started Bailly at RB against PSG and now Ralf has either Lindelof at RB or Sancho as a RWB.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement for Dalot and Wan-Bissaka if it’s Lindelof at right back, is it?

Like with central midfield, we should have sorted this out back in the summer. Alas… we did not.

Why do BT Sport put their CL coverage on BT Sport 2 and 3? I know its not hard to switch but wouldn't you put it on your main channel?

I wonder if he is playing Lindelof at RB so that if we want to switch to 3-5-2 to match up Atletico we can do it without making a sub?

Not sure what to make of this lineup. But happy to see Pogba, Ronaldo, Sancho and Bruno in the starting 11. Gonna be interesting!!

Is their left side so dangerous that we need Lindelof as right back?

Would make more sense as a back five, but I really don’t fancy that at all.

Will be interesting to see whether its a 4-3-3 or a 3-5-2.

It has to be 433 as Shaw is the only wingback in the starting eleven.

I can't for the life of me figure out why he'd pick Lindelof as RB in a 433, though, not with Dalot and AWB available. Makes no sense :p

It's fairly entertaining seeing the panic and confusion. It's our usual shape with Lindelof at RB. Nor sure why everyone is being so weird about it. It's not like Dalot or AWB are in great form. Lindelof doesn't deserve dropping but obviously Varane needs to come back in. Hence Lindelof at RB. It's an interesting selection but it's not like he's never played there before.

That is one weird lineup. Can't be a 3-5-2 as both Dalot and Telles would be far better options as WBs. So it'll be Lindelof as RB, excited to see if he can repeat his heroics against Leeds from the right. No McT a bit of a worry as I think his physical presence would've been very useful. But overall it's a lineup that shows we're going for it. Hope we get a solid win.

Lindelof was very good at RB a few years ago at Watford, always wanted to see him more there.

Usual formation. Lindelof at right back.
Is that just based off what SkySports or BBC churn out or an actual source?

The formers just wack whatever formation and don't actually know the system before kick off.

Line up has me scratching my head. I'm not sure now is the time to be experimenting? And Rashford starting? Ughh...

I guess we will see... :nervous:

Strange line up .. Fred + Pogba + Bruno is too lightweight in the middle if it's a 4-3-3.

    ---------------- Ronaldo -----------------
    --- Sancho -- Bruno --- Rashford
    ------------- Pogba --- Fred ------------

    vs

    ------------- Rashford -- Ronaldo -----------
    ---------------------- Bruno ------------------------
    --- Shaw --- Fred -- Pogba -- Sancho --
    -------------- CB ---- CB ---- CB -----------------

    I suspect it's a somewhat attacking 5-3-2 Chelsea style.

Just seems odd to pick Lindelof ahead of Dalot and AWB. Maybe Rangnick has seen something he likes in training?

Is mct injured or suspended. Dont like that matic is our only sub midfielder
