If Cavani were playing, at least one of those 9 would have gone in the net. We've also put in another 4 or 5 decent crosses in dangerous areas which a proper poacher would have got on the end of.
This isn't to say that McTominay and Fred can't be improved upon in the summer. But they haven't been the biggest problem today. Far from it.
