Glad to see Di Maria back and Falcao starting. We did not pay so much for them to be on vacation. We should be seeing Alex Sanchez, Cesc Fabregas-esque return on their performances. Even more from these two if I am being honest.

He also had Evra and Vidic in defense. That's my only worry. Benteke-Agbonlahor can be really dangerous.

That attack SHOULD be enough to outscore them. I reckon Rooney will play in a deeper role similar to the Liverpool game to help out that midfield and Mata in behind the strikers.

Only choice we have is to put Carrick there. That'd mean a 4-4-2 with Young and Valencia as FBs or a the 3rd CB being McNair. All 3 options are as good/bad

Why not move Carrick to midfield and do a regular back four? We don't look solid with 3 CBs at all, it's just De Gea and luck that keep us in games anyway.

I really don't understand the fascination Van Gaal has with that system. I guess he's feeling lucky and wants to gamble some more.

When you spend around 30 million on a midfielder, you should get a top-class player and a certain starter. We've spent around 66 million on two midfielders over the last 18 months, and still the feeling, my feeling at least, is that maybe maybe both of them are just short of the required quality. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong.

I know we have been on a winning run recently but I have not been convinced by the midfield we played against Liverpool. Rooney and Mata as midfielders with a front two is just too many attacking players in this type formation for me. I hope it pays off today and glad to see Falcao get a start.

Only surprise is Fletcher but I think he will do alright, if we get an hour out of him and then let Di Maria get some action it will be ideal. Fletcher has been really poor off the bench but its a different mentality when you start, I hope we get pre-season form Fletch today.

I don't like the line up but I didn't like it last week either and we won so lets hope the same happens today. I just really dislike the fact we have no pace in our team. United sides have always been built on pace and power and right now we barely have any of that. Theres not one quick players in that United side. Valencia and Young have a bit of pace but even they aren't as quick as they used to be.

Also its like we have no midfeild at all. We have a bunch of attacking forward players and then a bunch of defenders. As Carrick is in defence and Fletcher is there to shield the defence. Its basically a 6-4 formation.

Anyway im guessing 3-1 United.
