    Kick-off tomorrow, presser tonight.
Thanks. I really do need help!!! All day I have been thinking this is Wednesday  Was just leaving for the pub when your reply came in.

Off this week and must have caught a day somewhere. Still going to the pub with darts in tow... A few pints might help me get out of feeling so stupid and annoyed with myself :annoyed:

You are going to have to contain yourself for another 24 hours.:)

Just stay in the pub drinking, the match will come at some stage!

Why would it be, when you could just walk back to where you were staying. Those people stayed in Lyon for a reason, as St etienne is a small town and couldn't cope with the capacity
Sure but this isn't a game at the Euros. They can handle some United away fans. Don't see why there should be any hassle to get to and from the game.

    I know my friend.

I was so geared up for the game - I told a few of my mates yesterday I was going to the pub early to watch it. They said (not united supporters) it was on Thursday evening and I said "no kick off early due to Lyon playing at home - can tell you aren't Man Utd."!!! No doubt the ribbing will start when they arrive 7ish. Oh well, a few pints will help me till tomorrow. As the saying goes "there is no fool like an old fool" :D

By the way is there a reason for this being on a Wednesday? Aren't Europa League matches exclusively played on a Thursday?

I totally understand the logic in selecting such a strong squad, even thou I was surprised at how strong going into the game with a 3 goal lead.

Our top players not being given the time off to rest at home as it might allow complacency to enter their minds.
Also Mourinho will want to do everything in his power to avoid defeat in France as this season's bad results seem to follow bad results.

I think the Blackburn match also gave him more to think about as that match could have easily ended with a draw.
The Europa League and EPL are our biggest competitions this season as the prize of Champions League football next season, plus addias's sponsorship deal can not be missed under any circumstances.

    ASSE squad of 20:

    Gardiens de but :
    1.Anthony MAISONNIAL ; 16.Stéphane RUFFIER ; 30.Jessy MOULIN

    Défenseurs : 2.Kévin THEOPHILE-CATHERINE ; 3.Pierre-Yves POLOMAT ; 4.Léo LACROIX ; 19.Florentin POGBA ; 24.Loïc PERRIN ; 25.Kévin MALCUIT ; 31.Ronaël PIERRE-GABRIEL

    Milieux de terrain : 5.Vincent PAJOT ; 11.Henri SAIVET ; 14.Jordan VERETOUT ; 17.Ole SELNAES ; 18.Fabien LEMOINE

    Attaquants : 9.Nolan ROUX ; 21.Romain HAMOUMA ; 22.Kévin MONNET-PAQUET ; 26.JORGINHO ; 27.Robert BERIC

Think Lyon have a home game of something like that.

I had a dream we were crap and were losing 3:0 in the first half hour.
Then the dream stopped or I woke up, can't remember.

Completely forgot this was on tomorrow!

    Romero
    Mensah - Bailly - Jones - Young
    Schweinsteiger - Herrera
    Lingard - Mata - Martial
    Rashford

Herrera is suspended. Jones's out injured. Bastian can't play vs Blackburn away. I don't fancy him start in EL. As dead as the tie should be, we still need to see it through & not risk spike thing up for the home team having a go at us since we have a final this weekend.

Was really expecting to see Shaw get a start or at least get some minutes, not even travelled with the squad. Either he's not training well or Jose has some other issue with him like some have suggested. Given that he would rather play a winger or a guy who always looks like a liability instead of him certainly gives the impression that he's trying to make a point, personally I wish he would stop dicking about and play him.

From Mourinho's comments on the press conference, Shaw clearly hasn't been applying himself enough in training. And he will get exactly zero chances till the end of the season if that doesn't change.

With every match being vital now till the end of the season, Shaw might not start anymore.

Think Mourinho's comments in the presser were fair. Was impressed when he answered in French in particular, I realise he started as a translator but how many languages is that now (that was his interview for the PSG job if Wenger's staying at Arsenal perhaps )? Bringing Martial out was an astute move when he could probably much more easily brought out Pogba to face the cameras – it gives Anthony a bit of a lift and reminds the French public how important he is when he probably feels a bit let down after the Euros last summer – although he did seem a bit rabbit in the headlights at times. Not surprised by Jose's answers to the Rooney or Shaw questions but I DO wish the press would occasionally ask something a little more pertinent.

That's not what Mourinho said. You people and your twisting, predictable

He has at least 5 in French,English,Spanish,Italian and Portuguese.

Not sure how the line ups will be for the next 2 games, JM says constantly United don't want to be in the EL, but they will respect the competition. It does provide a route in to the CL though. 3-0 up but St. Etiienne looked a decent team in the first leg. I am pretty sure United will play as strong a team as possible on Sunday but playing a "weakened" side tonight might backfire.

Does Martial not know English yet? (not watched all of the interview so forgive me if he does eventually use english)

Obviously feels more comfortable answering in French but take your point.
Can't wait to hear his "frenglish". Love those accents. I really do hope he scores against St. Etienne today and that he has an overall strong match - would do wonders for his confidence.

I've a bad feeling about this game.

We didn't played well against them neither at Blackburn, and I think that sometimes we'll get pusnished (again).

Just hope that our away european form will get better and I hope for a good draw tonight.

Saint-Etienne will try to push everything in the first 30 mins so just focus on our game, we'll get a lot of opportunities if they push high.

I hope for an early goal from us that'll close everything

Hard to see what Jose is doing here. If the game were on Thursday, I think we'd see more of the first XI rested, but since it's Wednesday and the final is on Sunday, he must feel as though he can play most of his best side in both fixtures.

20 man squad as follows: De Gea, O'Hara, Romero; Bailly, Blind, Fosu-Mensah, Rojo, Smalling, Valencia, Young; Carrick, Fellaini, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Pogba, Lingard, Schweinsteiger; Ibrahimovic, Martial, Rashford. Means one outfield player will miss out, along with O'Hara. It's actually difficult to decide who that'd be as Young was good against Blackburn and may force another start.
