Saw the Express' Arsenal-United combined eleven, and I think they've got it nailed on.

    De Gea

    Valencia Bailly Koscielny Monreal

    Matic Pogba
    Sanchez_________Martial

    Lukaku

Some will argue that Young should be in there, and by current form - he should to be fair. Other than that, looks dece.

Anywho - big match. Annoying that City plays after us here. I hope for a similar team to the one we played vs Watford. Counter the shit out of them and we'll win.

A win here would be huge. If we fail to win it means we have to beat City next week to stand any chance of catching them. If we win this though we could still afford to draw with City and then attempt to make ground over the Christmas period.

I have a similar feeling to before the Chelsea game. We will lose or draw. Heres hoping this post somehow proves me utterly mistaken.

What is the reason for so much negativity here nowadays? Is it because City performance? Or because last few seasons? IDK but we are Manchester United and we can win anyone.

The negativity stems from United never having all their key players before a big game. I think it’s a curse.

Zlatan has been with us for 18 months and he’s never played against Arsenal.

Today, we have Bailly, Jones, Matic & Fellaini missing. At least 4 of those players are guaranteed starters if they were fit.

No matter how good a manager is, he still needs his best players in big games especially when the games are away from home.

The pessimism is legit - we have too many chicken players in our squad.

I was whining before watford game.. i was completely proved wrong. Should I do the same today? :P

Haha, I dont think herrera has been as bad as everyone has been making. He isn’t creative or make tackles like matic but he keeps the ball moving and works hard. Lack of matches and matics form has been herreras undoing, not Herrera being any worse!

Yeah but he hasn't been very good, but as you say it could be due to the lack of matches, and comparing him to the work machine of Matic, but I still feel he needs to pick it up a bit. Hopefully he will put in a shift today, whether that's from the bench or the starting 11.

I agree mate, mata and him are on borrowed time I think and they need to put in big performances when given the opportunities.

Don't know if it will be Rojo or Lindelof to start next to Smalling for this one. Last time out I went with Rojo and it ended up to be Lindelof, got a feeling if I put Lindelof with Smalling, its going to be Rojo. :wenger:

Got my bird-poop senses tingling. Somehow we will turn up on beast mode and hammer them courtesy of a Smashley Young hattrick...

    All three will probably start.

Judging by some posts, Young appears to have transformed into Messi. This place at times...

All of them will play in a back 3. It's an easy decision because Bailly and Jones are injured.

Absolutely crucial to win today. Firstly for obvious reasons regarding the title race. Also, Arsenal v Utd may not be the fixture it once was, but you'd be hard to pressed to find much worse than smug Arsenal fans. Draw in itself isn't the worst result, but then I think we put even more pressure on ourselves to win against City.

    You missed the 3 subs.
    Young, Young and Young.

Ah! My bad. Of course the subs. 52nd minute: Young for Young. 70th minute: Young for Young. 92nd minute (United holding on to a brace lead scored by Young and Young - one from a free kick 30 yards out and the other directly swung in from a corner kick) Young for Young.

Happy birthday to your dad. Nice story. Hope he gets a nice present today!

Thanks, mate. He still has his membership and goes to some home games, but it's a different game now, of course, from when he used to watch United home and away in the seventies. Buchan, McIlroy, Greenhoff, Hill, Pearson, Coppell et al was his big era.
