How on earth are we lining up ??

    ------------- DDG
    --------Smalling---McNair--Blackett
    --Valencia--Carrick-Rooney-Fellaini---Shaw
    ---------RVP-------Di Maria

I don't know why you're all so pessimistic. We're playing with Monreal at CB and it looks like we're playing 4141, which we've struggled with all season. It looks like it'll be a big United win.

I'm trying to keep faith eventhough we haven't actually performed at all away from home and we're now playing 3-5-2 and I don't agree with his line up but then again it is arsenal we're up against so it might even out.

    Wish I had your positivity.

The 3-5-2 is just way too reliant on pacy players, which we lack, save for Di Maria.
And Di maria playing in his best position is the big plus we get with this, along with defensive solidity. We didn't have Di maria at the start, apart from vs burnley but he was hardly fit anyways and didnt have a midfielder next to him.

This is a massive massive test of Mcnair and Blackett's temperament.

Feck off we've thrown the towel. We couldn't beat Swansea and Sunderland with the 3-5-2.

Arsenal are going to completely destroy us.

    Jesus christ.

I've just realised we don't have a single defensive sub except for Lindegaard...

Woo 3-5-2, Van Gaal must like the way we've drawn with it in the past.

I wish we went back to the diamond. 3-5-2 doesn't suit us and this constant changing of formations isn't helping.

Would've preferred Herrera in there ahead of Fellaini.

Interesting line-up. I hope it's Di Maria next to Van Persie, in the "Robben role". Let him run at Mertesacker and Monreal and they're finished.

This system usually works better against team that controls the game in terms of possession.

Pretty much seems Stifle them and counter attack tactics.

    Di Maria is key.

Little bit worried about the CB's.
I'd be more worried about the fact we're playing without a central midfield.

Change Fellaini and Smalling for Herrera and Valencia, and give Valencia's spot to Mata or Adnan.

    Have you seen our defense?

You'll score at least 3. I just hope we can match it at the other end.

This could potentially be one high scoring game...

Is it confirmed Di Maria is playing behind the strikers? Plenty of people on twitter are talking like it's been his confirmed role.

It's the only place he could be playing if we're playing three at the back and for me that's the only real positive of this setup. If it allows Rooney, van Persie and Di Maria to play centrally while retaining some of that solidity then it's fine by me. The alternative is we're playing McNair or Smalling at right back and Valencia and Di Maria on the wings.

We'll ram these feckers up the backside, big time. We've all been waiting for that special performance. This is the one.

Who in the begeesuz is McNair?
You guys really have been hit hard with injuries.

Smart money is obviously on Arsenal tonight, but I'm gonna say that it will be close.
3-2 Arsenal, I change my mind from a draw.

Disappointed that Herrera isn't getting a run out from start, however I think Fellaini helps our defence particularly on set pieces, and offers an aerial threat as well.

Really is a must win game, as things stand we're 9th (could even be 10th if Stoke pull their finger out and beat Burnley). Then you have Liverpool and Spurs not far behind with a game in hand.

Who would have thought Southampton, West Ham, Newcastle and Swansea would be in the top 6 at this stage

Agh feeling so anxious!! :nervous: Having no Herrera is a bummer, as is seeing that we will play either 3-5-2 or Smalling at RB which, let's face it are neither really great options to have. I would love seeing Herrera in place of Fellaini, but who knows maybe the microphone can come with the goods again tonight?
