Alternative, no Blackett at all.Wouldn't be much different if we played him LCB. I mean, he'd still have to move over to the left when defending, with the RWB covering at right back.

Hey not all of us newbies are brainless nitwits, I will have you know. No sir!Whose idea was it to open ut the matchthread to newbies again?
We've felt that way too many times this season. I'll believe it when we stop getting three injuries each week.I really do think today maybe the turning point in our season

Nah. We'll turn it around eventually but I can't see us putting a run together before we get a settled back four. Whether that happens with the current crop is anyones guess. I'm convinced we'll lose today.I really do think today maybe the turning point in our season
Rather have a 352 and play Young LWB, I'm 100 % sure Blackett will cost us if he starts. So who do we play there if Shaw's injured?
No. Not today. One day, but not today.I really do think today maybe the turning point in our season

Yeah, we looked solid enough at the back with a 3-5-2 for the most part, we were just too bland going forward. Partly due to cleverley and fletcher being our 2 in midfield...Rather have a 352 and play Young LWB, I'm 100 % sure Blackett will cost us if he starts.
Ditto that all.I can't say I'm excited about this fixture. In fact I can't say I'm excited about watching football or united these days.
Ah completely forgot, we're fecked if Shaw isnt fit.Ye but who would you play at centre back? Surely we'd have to play him, especially if we go with three at the back.
With the suggestions of the 3-5-2 being used maybe if Shaw is not fit, I wouldn't really mind it thinking about it.
De GeaGets everyone in their best positions, and this time we have an excellent midfield trio with energy, creativity and defensive solidity, compared to mata, cleverley and Fletcher before.

Same here unfortunately. We just seem to be in a huge mess at the moment with all our injuries and bad performances & results against teams we should have beaten, I'm amazed that we're still in touching distance of the top 4 although that's mainly down to other teams constantly messing up as well as us. I do think we will start to get considerably better in the 2nd half of the season when players get fit and are able to hit some form. And I believe in LvG 100% and I'm sure that we'll start playing better, winning more games, and become more exciting to watch before too long. Right now it's just a rough, gritty patch that we've got to try and grind some results out through in anyway possible.I can't say I'm excited about this fixture. In fact I can't say I'm excited about watching football or united these days.
Yeah, obviously we'd all prefer a 4 at the back, but not if both Shaw and rafael are out. Valencia and blackett at a back 4 would be a disaster. If nothing else with our 3-5-2 we looked solid at the back and had decent control of the ball, the problem was everyone was clueless on how to make a chance. Having di Maria, Carrick and herrera would surely help that. Not a big fan of three at the back, but I wouldn't mind that team at all.

What's all this talk about 3-5-2 coming from?
I really hope Di Maria has a better game today than he did vs Chelsea and City.
We need him at his best to win this match.
Di Maria has already become to 2nd Valencia. I don't even hope that he scores.I really hope Di Maria has a better game today than he did vs Chelsea and City.

Oh, yeah, we played fantastic against the likes of Sunderland, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Leicester, West Brom, etc. The times we've played decent football is when Di Maria was unplayable in the midfield and due to his brilliance won us some games. Since the formation change tho we're only hoofing the ball to Fellaini, a tactic people were slagging Moyes off when he used it in some games (Fulham). The truth is that we're playing dull and we had 21 points after 12 games last season. That would equal being third this season.
What does this even mean?Di Maria has already become to 2nd Valencia. I don't even hope that he scores.
Really hope that Herrera is playing. He would be so perfect against this Arsenal team.MUTV predicted lineup.

Absolutely no creativity in CM. Carrick and Fellaini just slow everything down. We are playing scared. Hope I am wrong.Horrible lineup if true.
