I think Jose will surprise many and pick a strong team, blud.
I think so as well. All i want is Bailly to be rested. Many want Valencia to be rested but the man is a machine and will be fine. Rashford will probably be on the bench. Play similar tactics as against Chelsea and hit them on the counter.

Valencia missed a few games some weeks ago, Mourinho even said he “had a little problem” and couldn't play every game. One thing this dreadful run of games in April showed is that there's no “machines” (nor Valencia, nor Pogba…), except maybe for Bailly, and even him was in trouble lately.

I think Rooney will start on the left. Rashford needs rested for EL return leg. I think we'll see

    Rooney Martial Mata
    Pogba Herrera
    Carrick
    Darmian Blind Smalling Valencia
    DDG

Rashford, Mkhitaryan, and Jesse off the bench.
You're taking Mourinho's words about resting the overplayed ones a bit lightly, but maybe you're right. I would say that at least Valencia, Blind, Herrera (or Pogba) have quite a chance of being rested.

Pretty incredible stat: Rooney is our second player with most assists (10, Herrera has 11).

I found this pretty funny, especially the comments he had on Mourinho:

Can see a starting 11 of

DDG, Jones (as RB), Smalling, Tuanzebe, Darmian, Carrick, Herrera, Martial, Mkhi, Rooney, Mata

Maybe Valencia starts - but, with Young injured we probably shouldn't risk him. Baily, Pogba, Rashford, Lingard, Blind should be rested.

I think whomever we put out, we can beat them - just give it a go (fight as Jose put it) and they are there for the taking.

No way we field a strong team. It's a dead rubber of a fixture, it means nothing.

We have two matches to get into the CL now and also win a trophy. No way does Jose risk Pogba and co. v Arse.

Sanchez doesn't deserve that respect at this moment in time. We should be able to beat Arsenal going toe to toe with them.

Its not about respect, He is the main creative player and the way we win the ball back is to press the soucre of creativity so we should do that.

Pogba has had a good rest for 2 games. anything can happen, as fellani is banned . Its herrera who does more of the running around and we can not play with only 1 midfeilder .

in a 343 Pogba can play , in a 352 we can rest him, in a 4231 Still pogba can play

I'd like to keep going in the league. If we can get 4th spot and win the EL, i think it'll result in Liverpool having to play the EL and deny them of CL football.

I'm pretty sure after the 1-1 Swansea result, the 0-1 Vigo result, and the injuries, that focusing on top 4 is out. Different story if we would have won against Swansea. This will be heavily rotated side from Thursday's match. I expect all of Rashford, Lingard, Bailly, Valencia, and one of Pogba / Herrera to be rested. Maybe Valencia plays if Young can't go.

Why on earth risk an injury to Pogba just to beat a crap Arsenal side?

I don't see the logic. Look at the long game here people.

Could careless about this match now. On one hand, getting a result is one less opportunity for Arsenal to get their 4th place trophy. On the other hand, if United lose, then there goes the unbeaten streak...which will end some time and could give two shits. I rather United have lost a few more times and gained a few more full 3 points.

Just want to see Wenger have his meltdown moments and laugh.

Couldn't care less. Think about it.

I think he is trying to say that he cares about this match a lot.
Either that, or English may not be his first language.

Because he aint made of glass , Stop thinking than every game we play we will have an important injury , he is capable of playing both games since he had 2 games rest. Herrera canalso use some rest.

I'm sure Jose will put out a side that will annoy the hell out of the Arse (who have to win!). It's going to be an ugly game but I think we are more than capable of getting 3 points.
If ever we needed an early goal...

    1. This will be AFC's Cup Final. This game will be their most important and probably their most watched game (world wide).
    2. AFC aren't that crap. They are being weighed down by a manager who is "coasting", but for Cup finals, they will raise their game. They will fight tooth and nail (like they did in the reverse fixture), until the last second, to try and beat us.

It's not over, city are 1 point above and they also drop points they are against crystal palace who can make them droppoints while liverpool too can always drop points , If we beat arsenal or even draw we still have chances ,so we have to stay close as much as we can because you never know what can happen in a final.

I think most fans, including myself are terrified of injureis, now.
We picked up 2 cruciate ligament injuries in one match, a few days ago...and that is unprecedented.
So, an injury to Pogba is a huge fear.

He just got fit, he will not get injuries every game, No risk no rewards.

If we were fighting for the title and champions league we'd have to play same amount of situations. Herrera can be rested too .

I think he will pick his starting 11 for Celta Vigo 2nd leg first, and then rest a few that he feels can't play 2 or 3 games in a row.

Personally I can't see him starting Tuanzebe or any other fringe player as he hasn't done it at any point in the season when he could have done. He was so reluctant to use players like Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin and Depay so I think it will be a stronger 11 than u may think with the majority being international players.

Yes this makes the most sense. I trust he will make the right judgment calls as to which players can play both on Sunday and then again on Thursday. I suspect Pogba will probably play, and we can probably expect to see Rooney and Martial. Bailly may be rested for Jones or Smalling. Herrera should be rested too.

I expect something like this vs Arsenal....

    De Gea
    Darmian Jones Smalling Blind
    Fellaini Carrick
    Mkhitaryan Rooney Lingard
    Martial

    Mata coming on at halftime.

    And then vs Celta

    Romero
    Valencia Bailly Blind Darmian
    Herrera Carrick Pogba
    Mata Rashford Mkhitaryan

    -----------------De Gea-------------------------
    ---------Tuanzebe-Smalling-Jones----------
    --Lingard-----Rooney-Carrick-------Blind--
    ------------Mata----Mkhitaryan--------------------
    ----------------Martial--------------------------

    Best I could do.

I think we'll play a stronger team than a lot of people think. For starters, we don't want to give Arsenal any sort of momentum to do their usual late surge. Not to mention the dislike of Wenger from Jose as it is.

I'd expect most of the benchees to be in with a chance of starting.
Romero, Bailly, Fellaini and Rashford certainties to drop out, with De Gea, Smalling, Carrick and Martial to come in.
Miki and Lingard should be fresh enough after not playing full 90s too often recently. Mata to come on somewhere in the 60-70mix for whoever needs the break, and to ease him back in.

Jones to step up to the bench, way too much risk to start him and Smalling together.
Similarly, Rooney in for this one might be a stretch.
You can't take Valencia out, as that'd mean Darmian switching to right back versus Sanchez, which was a disaster last season, and Blind needing to go left. Meaning you'd either partner the "just back" brothers or have to risk Bailly again

    De Gea
    Valencia
    Darmian
    Smalling
    Blind
    Carrick
    Herrera
    Pogba
    Miki
    Martial
    Lingard

bench - Romero, Jones, Mata, Rooney, Tuanzebe Bailly Rashford (these 2 switched for youngsters potentially)

Prediction .....just that Welbeck will score and we will get 15 pages added to his thread rehashing the whole scenario of why we sold him.

I can see that as well.

Then when they are asked whether 2 goals a season, plus the inevitable 3months injured every season is worth it, they disappear.

We should be resting anyone starting next Thursday. Forget about the league.

I'd be really surprised if the likes of Pogba, Bailly, Valencia, Herrera and Rashford start this game. It's a risk not worth taking.

We watch the city result and then pick our team. I think if they dont win, we will pick the best team possible. If they do, i think jose will ring in the changes. It does not mean we pick kids, it means we just dont start players who have played a lot of minutes and freshen the team up.

The 6 subs from last night (obviously Young would have been in too but someone had miss the rest of the season). Pogba I think will play. Possibly Jones. Hopefully Arsenal will rest players for the cup final.

The final is 20 days away? They play 5 league games, with us being by far the biggest and toughest left.

Why on earth would they start resting players now!
