Lingaaaaard, Fellaini, Darmian, Smalling and Blind these names somehow freaking me out.

Can't shake the feeling that us giving up on reaching the top 4 is just setting up for failure tonight and Jose looking like a tit.

I've felt this way since the Arsenal game.

Also don't like this growing assumption that winning this game is a foregone conclusion, when in my eyes it is anything but. I'm bricking it.

I know Romero is the most likely keeper for tonight however why won't De Gea be selected? I mean if Mourinho knows that we need to keep De Gea, then playing De Gea in the final would be a no brainer.

Forget De Gea. He's bags are already packed. He's gone.

Havent seen that assumption TBH. If anything people are mostly bricking it and are frightened we'll lose.

Because Romero got us here and because, unlike a lot of clubs, we have class. I absolutely love De Gea but couldn't care less if him playing the final increases the chance of him staying. Romero all the way.

The way I see it though, De Gea didn't play the last game of the PL season. I can see Mourinho starting De Gea.

Interestingly, I see more of gloom than optimism here. I think more people believe we will either lose or find it extremely difficult to win than otherwise. This is understandable considering how we have been playing lately.

But I belong to the minority that believes United will dominate this game and win. The basis for my conviction are the following:

    - Our boys are far more experienced

    - Our boys are more expensive

    - Our regular team is one of the most difficult to beat in Europe

    - Our boys know that this is their only chance to qualify for the CL next season. They will be desperate.

    - Player for player, United wins it.

    - Paul Pogba

    - Jose Mourinho

    - The Manchester Attack

The last listed above was a tragic incident and it will certainly be in the minds of the boys tonight. I think our boys will be motivated to bring a little bit of joy to Manchester after the devastating experience.

Paul Pogba is in very good form and I am willing to bet that tonight is the night he shuts his critics up.

As for Jose, three European cup finals, three wins. His opponent, Bosz, has never won a silverware before. I have a feeling that small details like this will swing the game to United.

Ajax were beaten to the league by Feyenoord and we put 4 past them in the group stages, easily stronger than this team, let's give a performance to show that!

    **ignores the 1-0 defeat**

Just saw some tweets saying Smalling and Mata are expected to start. Hopefully it's bogus.

Reports the front three will be Mata, Mkhitaryan and Rashford.

You see, this is annoying, I can't decide whether it will be Mata or Lingard either

Need Pogboss to continue is form of bullying the players in midfield. Hopefully from the start we see a few of their players bouncing off him as they try to get the ball just the settle the mood and give us control in the game.

What's their LB like? is he athletic / attacking? if not I can see Mata starting.

If he's the type who flies forward at every opportunity then it should be Mkhi/Lingard.

Mata has had a weeks rest like Mkhitaryan, Lingard 3 days. Seems obvious to me.

Fellaini or Carrick is the only question mark to me, depending on if Fellaini is over that knock and how Mourinho wants to approach the game.

That's all to logical for my liking, in a one-off game such as the Europa final anything can and very likely will happen. I'm generally quite positive in the build up to our games, but with so much riding on this one I can't help but feel anxious about it. Placing all our hopes on one solitary game felt like a risk at the time and it feels the same now.

Just want this game out of the way.

Smalling and Blind are making me shiver a little bit. Or maybe I'm just cold

I'm thinking he'll start with Lingard then when we're struggling to create much down that flank he'll bring on Mata or Martial instead for the last 30mins.

Also can see Smalling starting ahead of Jones and while I'm not a big fan of either, I'd prefer Jones.

I want this win for the City fans so they can hate us for the day instead of thanking God it wasn't their kid.

Hopefully for two hours today any lingering fear in England can be pushed aside for the time being.

been to the toilet 3 times in the last hour. My food isn't going down well.

Maybe, but i personally hope he doesn't.

De Gea actually started 3 of the Europa League games.

Yeah i know. 3 group games and 2 of them were losses if i remember right. Happy if i say "mostly got us here" instead? Regardless, Romero has played the vast majority of games, every game since the group stage ended and deserves to start, in my opinion.

Why? Mata is experienced and one of a few in the squad that can actually score goals. Since Bailly can't play, Smalling is actually not a bad choice. Jones might be a bit better but he has a bigger 'risk' of getting injured during the game in my opinion. It's important to avoid making unnecessary substitutions during the game, since I think this will be a long game. Won't be surprised if it ends in penalties...

In the end, it won't matter if it's Smalling or Jones. The important thing will be the tactics...

I don't want to see Lingard anywhere near the starting 11 but I'm sure he will be. My team.

    ------------Romero
    Valencia Smalling Blind Darmian
    --------Carrick Herrera
    ----Mata Pogba Mhkitaryan
    -----------Rashford

Fellaini and Martial to come on.

I hope you're right. I'd to see this as our starting 11. Carrick offers far more "football" than Fellaini, as does Mata over Lingard

Gone to the store with my United training shirt on.(to grab a beer of course)
We need to show our colors wherever we are.

    COME ON UNITEEEEDD!!!

    (I'm bricking it)

Friend is at fan camp outside the stadium says there are police with snipers on the roof of the stadium :nervous:

This is torture. I really should give up supporting United. Will get a heart attack some day with the nerves.

This waiting is not good for my health. I wasn't thinking this way up until today but I wasn't as excited as this back in 2009 or 2011. We should really win this. Come on United!

Mata's has been poor since coming back from that injury. I'd much rather Lingard plays in this kind of games. He delivers more often than not.
Smalling's the worst defender in the world when being pressed. And I have no doubt Ajax will do just that.

I have a bad feeling about this game. Smalling at CB and Romero in goal doesn't feel me with confidence.

I'm feckin nervous. Such an important game. No i'm not thinking about you Griezmann..
