Manchester City Football Club - nicknamed City, The Citizens, and The Sky Blues - are a professional football club based in Manchester, England; and were founded in 1880 as St. Mark's (West Gorton), before being renamed as Ardwick Association Football Club in 1887, and finally Manchester City in 1894. Prior to the takeover by the Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008, the club had enjoyed moderate levels of success through their history - winning the League in 1936 and 1937, to go with 4 FA Cups, 2 League Cups, and 1 Cup Winners' Cup. However, since the beginning of the current decade, City have been buoyed by the signings of Sergio Agüero, Yaya Touré, David Silva, Pablo Zabaleta, Vincent Kompany; and have emerged as perpetual title contenders - winning the league twice and repeatedly finishing in the Top 3. City play their homes games at the Etihad Stadium, and share a local rivalry with neighbors and opponents for the game, Manchester United.

    Zlatan

    Rasford - Rooney - Mkhitaryan

    Pogba - Fellaini

    Shaw - Blind - Bailly - Valencia

    De Gea

Rashford won't start, Martial will still start and I reckon Micky will be the only change in the line up for Mata

    Let's fecking have these lot.

Same team as today but with Mkhitaryan on the right please.

    Early Predicted Lineup:

    _________________________________________________________

    1. de Gea

    25. Valencia 3. Bailly 17. Blind 23. Shaw

    6. Pogba 27. Fellaini

    8. Mata 10. Rooney 22. Mkhitaryan

    9. Ibrahimovic
    ________________________________________________________

    Bench:
    20. Romero, 12. Smalling, 16. Carrick, 21. Herrera, 18. Young, 11. Martial, 19. Rashford

    Predicted Score: Man Utd 3
-1 Man City (Ibrahimovic X2, Rashford)
I'd rather see Rashford start tbh, but I'm not sure if Jose will throw him in immediately in such a big game. I think it's more likely we'll see him come off the bench. Martial has had too many poor performances now and Mkhitaryan showed enough against Hull to warrant a start imo.

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Blind Shaw
    Pogba Fellaini
    Mkhitaryan Rooney Martial
    Ibrahimovic
Tough to leave Rashford and Mata on the bench but for the derby I think we have to. Mkhitaryan simply has to start this. Huge game even though it's so early. City will probably dominate possession while we look to counter so that's why we need Mkhitaryan and Martial... Could argue Rashford as well but Rooney and Ibra will both play so unlikely. Going for 2-1 United. Pogba and Rooney the scorers, aguero for them as always.

    Long time away :(

    2-1 United

Ibra + fellaini aguero with there goal

I wonder if we'll go with a three man midfield for this one? Reckon we'll play ugly this game to frustrate Pep, reckon 2 -1 to us.

Surely Mkhitaryan starts, I have had enough of Mata slowing everything down. I'd also be tempted to start Marcus for Martial who seems very Januzaj like of late, his hunger and demeanor look off and his personal life is obviously affecting him. A spell on the bench may do him some good.

I think this game will be a score draw though which won't be the worst result, just think City with Aguero always score.

    De Gea
    Valencia - Bailly - Blind - Shaw
    Fellaini/Schneiderlin - Pogba
    Mkhitaryan - Rooney - Martial
    Ibrahimovic
Mourinho's way of beating Guardiola teams is to use two defensive midfielders to stop the creativity of their midfielders. They must deny the City midfielders the room to operate and be very disciplined. If Fellaini is out, Schneiderlin will come in. We'll need pace in wide areas to hit them on the counter attack so that's why I think Mkhi will play instead of Mata.
    1-1

Rashford as a supersub is a fantastic option right now. As Mourinho said post match, we found new solutions with our subs, as well as creating new problems for the opposition.

Would love to see Mkhitaryan start this one and Rashford to come off as a sub to run circles around them. Likely to be a chess match, but a part of me believes we'll bend them over with force. Their defense is due for being exposed. Looking forward to the atmosphere as it's sure to be like nothing we've seen for a long time.

Going to predict some sort of three man midfield to keep things tighter.

    De Gea
    Valencia - Bailly - Blind - Shaw
    Fellaini
    Herrera - Pogba
    Mkhitaryan - Ibrahimovic - Rooney...?
Either that or just the same as today.

Tough game this one. It's certain that Jose will target our backbone (Bailly-Fellaini-Blind) with hard pressing.

Not too worried though. One of the good things that LvG has done is left us with an excellent big game mentality. Jose is of course even better, plus the likes of Zlatan and Pogba will be super motivated.

Just need to pray that there are no injuries during the international break ffs

Unless Ibra looks knackered in training this week, I can't see anything but him starting again.

Game is a fortnight away and he is retired from international football, he will be one of the most rested players on the pitch

Not sure whether Jose will decide to give Pogba more freedom and have us playing a 433 or keep things the same. Our three opponents this season have been fairly poor/limited in terms of quality.

Think Lingard will start, with Martial being dropped. Possibly Mata will be out of the starting eleven as well, with Mkhitaryan taking his place. Rooney will play, so no three-man-midfield.

    ----------------------de Gea
    Valencia------Bailly---------Blind------Shaw
    -----------Fellaini-------------Pogba
    Mkhitaryan---------Rooney----------Lingard
    -------------------Ibrahimovic

Gutted this game is on at the same time as the Old Firm game.

Early Saturday kick off after an international break is interesting. Usually the South American players return a bit later from international duty. Lets hope Aguero is a bit jaded.

Having seen today's game, despite us dominating, we looked a bit vulnerable in midfield. A few times, especially in the first half, Hull were able to get in behind our midfield, and had a lot of room to run at our defence. It's because of this reason I would go with a 3 man midfield against City, as they play with two advanced midfielders, and will get a lot of room in between the lines, with a 2 man midfield.

I think Mourinho could go with:

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Blind Shaw
    Fellaini
    Herrera Pogba
    Mkhitaryan Ibrahimovic Rooney
Schneiderlin in if Fellaini is injured.

    Think they will do us.
Would be pleasantly surprised if Mourinho doesn't play for a draw.

Another thing is, i don't think we have the pace to exploit their high defensive line.
I personally would have gone Martial and Rashford either side of Zlatan. That won't happen.

They haven't looked anything special. Lucky to beat Sunderland and scored two late goals against Stoke.

Think we'll try and counter them, but that's how Mourinho plays.

That's why I don't think we will win. Our normal XI doesn't have enough pace to exploit their high defensive line imo.

Play Martial and Rashford or Mickhi and that's enough space.

Damn I'm at a friend's wedding on 10th. Problem is weddings here sometimes start in the morning and last a whole day. Will be a lot of mobile checking.

Don't think both will start at the same time and that's the problem.
