The England Under-21 forward's brand new chrome plated Range Rover was set ablaze as it stood on the drive of team-mate Kevin Nolan's country house.
Carroll, who was recently awarded a new five-year contract, is staying at the house of the Magpies' skipper as part of his bail conditions after being charged with the alleged assault of a teenager.
Nolan's garage door was also daubed with graffiti during the attack on Wednesday night.
Police were called Carroll's Range Rover was seen in flames on the drive.
Firefighters arrived at the house at about 7pm.
Security men stood guard outside the detached house in leafy Darras Hall, Northumberland, as forensic experts combed the scene for evidence.
Carroll's Range Rover, which was partially obscured behind parked cars and an ornamental stone garden fountain, looked badly fire damaged.
Its bonnet was open and windows smashed.
A Northumbria Police patrol car blocked the entrance to the drive.
Nolan's graffiti-damaged garage door was covered with a sheet, beneath which the letters W I could be seen sprayed in black paint.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "The fire was extinguished by the fire and rescue service and no one was injured. The garage door of the property was also vandalised.
"Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them."

They were accompanied by a pal of Nolan’s from Liverpool called Carl who had come up to watch the game. There was also a “close protection officer” hired to provide security for controversial Carroll after his £70,000 Range Rover was torched while parked on Nolan’s drive weeks ago.
After a few warm-up drinks, the group took a cab for the eight mile ride into the centre of Newcastle.
Their first stop was the city’s Floritas Bar near Central Station where they boozed for two hours among celebrating fans before moving on to the Baby Lynch bar and then the Tup Tup Palace nightclub.
Here they partied until 3am and got chatting to three girls, aged around 20, from the South Shields area. One dressed provocatively in an all-black cat suit.

So the group moved on to Aspers Casino in Newcastle’s Gate Complex where they stayed until 5.45am before having breakfast at a McDonalds and then all going back to Nolan’s home.
Here exhausted Carl and the protection officer fell asleep on sofas while Carroll and Nolan partied on until dawn with the three girls in Nolan’s luxury cinema room. At around 7.15am, Carroll tapped one of the girls – a blonde in a Hell’s Angels top – on the shoulder and beckoned her upstairs.
As she followed him, she said: “I hope you’re not going to treat us like the other girls.”

The way it reads the whole thing reflects badly on Nolan not Carroll.

I did. Great team performance but the standouts were Carroll, Williamson and Tiote. Carroll is unplayable on his day and he made it tough for Arsenal. Tiote was an absolute beast in midfield and he's quickly approaching legend territory; just needs a goal to ice it. Willo a fecking bargain and a half. Colo gives me ulcers trying to pass the ball out of our box especially against a team like Arsenal, but I love the horrible haired argie.

Carroll was magnificent for Newcastle to be fair. He's good in the air, decent with his feet, and has a brilliant work-rate. I do think Newcastle as a whole have to be careful about not relying on him too much though - every pass from the back 4/goalkeeper was aimed in is general direction today, which shows what a good player he is, admittedly, but I think a bit more variety wouldn't go amiss.
Wouldn't mind seeing him at United to be honest - it's always good to have a beast like that in the team. And his all-round play is surprisingly good
