Madrid are selling players. Thats a fact. If we sold one striker and bought in two we'd have room. Same as if they sell a striker (Ruud) and use another in part exchange for Benzema, they can still get David Villa.
But what do you do with Raul and Huigain? They brought Huntelaar to replace Ruud in January.. So they bring in Villa sell Ruud and Huntelaar whats changed? They just end up with an extra striker who they have to fit in whilst at the same time try not to upset the fans by the straight disregarde to the legend Real sorry i mean Raul. Either way its just not going to happen they have Ronaldo and Kaka they only need one striker after them signings..

Madrid conceded 52 goals last season playing 2 defensive midfielder most of the time. Play that team above, they conceded much more. It wont happen.

If its true that £30m would secure his services I think we'd be very daft not to get him. He's young and gifted, grab him while we can!

Yes it would. But there is nothing to suggest that his price tag is actually £30m.

If it was, then most likely all the big clubs in Europe would offer that amount.

Latest from Aulas:

"Karim has said that he wants to stay another year at Lyon. But I think that Kaka or Ronaldo maybe imagined remaining with their respective clubs. There is a tsunami called Real Madrid which provokes reactions at Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United. So it is very complicated to say that he is non-transferable. Today, it's obvious we want to keep him. There is more chance he'll be at Lyon next season than that he won't be. I won't hide from you the fact that he has been approached. For the moment, I managed to convince them not to go further."

So basically, we'll sell him as long as we can get as much money out of the clubs!

I find it hard to not like Aulas.

If I was selling my house, I would like Aulas to sell it for me.

The one thing that Benzema has but Klaas lacks is an allround capability though. We need that in a striker IMO.

Klaas is a good finisher, and perfect "in-the-box" striker. Benzema has qualities all over, which, if replacing Ronaldo is the objective, is something we need.

Well, I think we need to change our style, so we don't need to replace Ronaldo with player similar to him. Huntelaar would be a good player for us, but Benzema too. Considering their age, I also choose Benzema.

I just don't understand your point ;)

Who else at that level is available at that price :wenger: ?
I think only Eto'o and his availability is still unclear.. Anyway I don't think we should sign him anyway.. I was just dropping a name cause you asked..

Ruud is old and has his injury problems, looks to be leaving. Raul is old too and will most likely be rotated. Higuain is good but nowhere near as good as Villa and Benzema would be. Plus he can and has played from the wing. Madrid wouldnt hesitate to get rid of him if it meant they could pair Villa and Benzema together.

Stop being so unrealistic.. Real Madrid are not going to sign both of Villa & Benzema this summer.. Just forget about that!

Have Madrid called you and told you who they are selling? Cause they sure as hell have not publicly stated any names that could be leaving..

They can have 23 players right? Presently there Are A Total of 28 Players In The Real Madrid Squad. http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1054436

That 28 does not include Ronaldo. So lets add Villa, Ronaldo & 4 other FW/Mids/DFs/GKs?

That makes it 34 so they have to sell 11 players..

I would imagine the 11 would be: Metzelder, Salgado, Drenthe, Diarra, Saviola Van Der Vaart, Guti, Negredo & Heinze.. & 2 more players..

That is why I find it highly doubtful to read things like Robben, Huntelaar, RVN, Sneijder are all for sale because its a load of bollocks.. Do you know how difficult it is to SELL (Not release) 11 fecking players?

Even if they sell Both Ruud and Huntelaar there is no chance they are going to buy 2 more Strikers for what looks like 1 position in a 4-2-3-1 formation! Raul, Higuain & 2 more? Not a chance..

My point is simple.

After Ruud left we have bought attackers who can do several things, and who often change positions in attack. Ruud was box-player, and since him we haven`t bought anyone remotely close to him. Klaas is the same as Ruud in many ways, and I just don`t think it would suit our style. Benzema would be a better suit IMO.

What we'll need to replace in the absence of Ronaldo is pace and goals. Which will have to come by buying players who possess these two attributes in abundance. Benzema on a very few occasions I've seen him play reminded me of Saha (power and pace) with a better finishing technique. I reckon he would be one of the players who would suit our needs.

However brilliant player Berbatov is with his vision and amazing close control, I reckon he slowed down our counter attacking play throughout last season, which has been the hallmark of SAF's reign. Something the coaching staff will have to address quickly next season.

Interesting times.

I agree with this post.

And it is going to be very interesting times at this club. Possibly new players coming in and players at this club already stepping it up a level.

Perfect foil for Rooney imo. They'll bring the best out of one another. Espically if we play them both in their natural positions. Get 2 wingers into the club and we're set to go!

Benzema
Valencia
Costa

That would make me very, very happy. Make it so Ferguson!

Add Silva on that and I'll jizz in my pants, too.

Costa seems to be great player in the future, but I don't see United buying four players.

Relax the cacks there cochise & less of the talking down to!

Are they not two of the best Strikers around?

Then why the feck would they not go for them if the have the money - which apparantly they do. The team needs a complete makeover & thats what Perez is doin. Why the feck is it impossible for folk to see that Real are gunning for all potential players we deem necessary for our continued success. Its black & white & its been goin on for many years!

They wouldn't go for them because it would be extremely difficult for them to play both with the other attackers they've signed and neither Benzema or Villa would be happy playing in 50% of the games.

Lyon adviser Bernard Lacombe has admitted the club may be powerless to prevent Karim Benzema joining Manchester United.

Lacombe, who acts as a special adviser to club president Jean-Michel Aulas, knows that the 21-year-old France striker is currently under contract with the Ligue 1 side.

But, having seen Michael Essien leave for Chelsea for £24.4m in 2005, Lacombe admits they may have little hope of retaining Benzema if United make a bid.

"He is with us, but nobody knows what will happen,” he told Progres.

“We didn’t think Michael Essien would leave at the time, but when Chelsea arrived with the cheque...

“If Manchester, who as we know have plenty of cash available, want to buy Benzema, what can you do?”

Lacombe also revealed that Porto striker Lisandro Lopez is a target for the club and compared the player to Carlos Tevez.

However, he ruled out a move for Valencia striker Fernando Morientes as he believes he is past his prime.

He's not trying to get us to put a bid in, is he? They need cash to fund their new stadium.

Seem like Benzema has informed the Lyon board that if Manchester United were to put in an offer he would wanna go.

Why else would the Lyon adviser only refer to us?
