Where have I said Ryan`s a great bloke for sleeping with his honestly stupid if not lying brother Rhodri`s wife or for having to front up to court for being a control freak with his ex wife to the point of making her feel threatened?

He`s one of the greatest footballers ever to play professionally and he didn`t have the longevity at United by not taking his profession seriously unlike some professional footballers playing at the top level who were and are in it for the money and are happy with what they didn`t achieve. Nothing can alter those facts. I made a point of saying he didn`t learn from his father`s unhappy relationship with his mother.

I just don`t get triggered the way some are by two adults having consensual sex regardless of whether it`s with their brother`s wife or not. It`s naive to think this all occurred suddenly one day and moral, upstanding Rhodri suddenly found out that his wife was having an affair with his brother. I`d say there`s things we have no idea about regarding Rhodri and his wife or ex as she is now and his running to The Sun to put all the salacious details in full view simply reinforces that something unusual was going on with Rhodri as well.

Definitely a lot of people were triggered. Why that (not the abuse allegations) would be a factor in any football conversation is beyond me.
 
No matter what you think of the adultery with your brothers wife thing (and it is hard to think how that is OK in any circumstance), he obviously has issues with women, and you still wouldn't want him anywhere near the club again, as he is not only a bit of a scumbag but and also a PR disaster looking for a place to happen.
 
Must've been 'feeling funny down there' a bit again in recent months. Fatherhood again looming on the horizon for him.

The two bits about Rooney were interesting. The bit about how he'd know if Rooney was going to have a good game or not based on how good his first touch was early into a game.

Also, how he wanted to drop back as a 10 after having his best season ever as a 9 in 09/10, which Rooney himself went into on an overlap episode himself. Thing is, I'd say his 11/12 season was just as good and he was playing as a 10 that season. I think it helped playing behind a selfless 9 in Welbeck that year.

Giggs also seems to have loved Di María.

Di María is a knob but I don’t buy that he couldn’t have been convinced to stay. There’s no way that only lasts 10 months under Mourinho, Solskjaer or whoever else.

He just didn't work with van Gaal's risk averse style. If he had lasted one more year under him, it would've been interesting to see him under José again, but van Gaal hated his wastefulness and Di María hated his tactics, so I don't think there was any chance of him lasting another season.

He never wanted to come to United. Real Madrid forced him out the door, they had their stooges in the media run a smear campaign on him and made the situation untenable. It was the end of the transfer window and he was going for one of the biggest transfer fees ever, it was a different time, there were few clubs that could afford that transfer. But it was clear from day one he was only at United because it was the only option, not because he had some desire to play for us. He didn't want to be in England, his wife didn't want to be in England, he never played in England again, there was no way he was ever going to be convinced to stay.

He's a bellend of a bloke off the pitch, but I don't understand how he's not in the hall of fame, Terry is in, and he's also got a few, lets say Questionable things on his off pitch resumé.

Its a football hall of fame for a league, in which Giggs is the most decorated and probably always will be.

Scummy isn't criminal though. I have a hard time getting worked up about infidelity when a huge percentage of the population has cheated or been unfaithful at some point or another. Ryan seems to get a disproportionate level of abuse over what is a fairly run of the mill indiscretion although I admit that it being his brothers wife is weird.

Run of the mill indiscretion is having a one night stand, or banging a stripper behind your spouse's back. Having years long affair with your brother's wife is sociopathic. A lot of people have siblings and they are repulsed by that kind of betrayal, its not hard to grasp.

I think sociopathic is a bit strong and honestly long running affairs within families are really not that unusual they just generally don't make the news because unless a celebrity is involved it is just seedy but hardly newsworthy. If people want to take the moral high ground that is fair enough but on a sliding scale I would put this a long way below buying items manufactured by child labor in sweat shops which to be frank almost all of us have done and is far more ethically questionable.

The outrage just seems to be completely out of proportion to the offense and in answer to why the far less accomplished Terry is in the Hall of Fame ahead of Giggs despite his own arguably greater sins, the simple answer is that Terry is English.

Point 1. Giggs is a massive twat.

Point 2. He was an outstanding footballer at times.

Point 3. Point 1 only becomes an issue to counteract Point 2 when there's evidence of criminal activity (Greenwood...).

Whether we should trust the criminal justice system and analyse the fact that in most cases of sexual/domestic violence, very few cases result in meaningful convictions (no, not every woman made it) is a very different question/debate.

Wasn't Rio alleged to be a serial shagger, including during the period his first wife and mother of 3 of his children was dying of cancer? No-one seems to care about that, or any number of other footballers affairs. Trashy thing to do no doubt, but infidelity is everywhere.

He’s clearly got a lot of football knowledge, there was a lot of interesting stuff in there about the nuts and bolts of his play. It wasn’t all on instinct, there was method to a lot of it which I didn’t really credit him for.

It was shitty but the story was more complicated. Giggs' brother's girlfriend was a former stripper and I've heard that she cheated on him with a lot of other football players as well. She slept with a lot of different people and footballers, so I am not sure why Ryan only gets the stick.

It was a reality check for Ryan's brother to not date her anymore and he later remarried and now has a couple of kids and is happily married. He's been making a lot of money out of this scandal and he's done so many yt videos about it. He's been profiting out of this situation and it's his main source of income.

What Ryan did was shitty and he's a flawed human being but there were a lot of footballers who were serial shaggers. Not sure why Ryan is the only who gets the stick about it.

Again, we have no real insight as to the dynamics of their relationship. If the cancer was known to be life-threatening, it could have been a consensual agreement between the two which is not uncommon.

Giggs banged her before Rohdri did. Rohdri married the first thing that came his way after getting out of Jail. It was doomed. It's tiresome to keep reading about. Yes he's a cnut sometimes. Hopefully he'll manage a Premier League club to play exciting football like he did
 
Funnily enough I was listening to a podcast with Rob Brydon the other week and he was discussing how with celebrities their emotional development stops when they become famous and so generally it is the ones who came to success later that are much more well adjusted and decent human beings. In football, they pretty much all become wealthy and famous pretty early in life so their emotional development stops in their teens which explains why they act like teenagers on a trip to Ibiza even in their 40's.
