Musk | Fascist | Leader of the Free World

The next question should have been "Do you regret the nazi salute or do you feel the ketamine fueled office sleepovers with impressionable young men is to blame for the sorry piece of white dogshit that you have become"
It's Techno Mechanicus I worry about. I hope a cool as fvck name isn't too tarnished with the smell of that nazi musk.

Old video, but I wonder if this is typically the culture of DOGE meetings.

Long form interviews... check
Mainstream media... check

I wonder if he thinks we should do our own research.

Nazi salutes would be two coincidences, since he did it twice. What are the chances?

good point

hard to see who their customers will be until Musk leaves the company

Which probably explains why the stock drop is so extreme compared to automakers. It's a company that serves no one. Finally wall street has caught on. It's market cap is 10x GM and ford combined. For what?

Are Tesla's even that good? They were ahead of the rest 10 years back, but why would you buy a Tesla over any other EV from a luxury car manufacturer?
Was living off its brand reputation.. Not sure Musk leaving saves that anymore..

underwhelming car lineup..

It depends on what one wants out of an EV. There are far more options available today than just 3-4 years ago when Musk was relatively unchallenged in the electric vehicle space.

Thy luxury car? The SUV Tesla Y has a price of 54K for 392km range and 69k for the 525km range. Just bought in december a Chevrolet Equinox EV with a range of 515 for 41k CAD similar dimensions, cheaper insurance due to cheaper replacements.

I didn't check Tesla because it was not an option. But I doubt that its quality would justify +40% of the value for similar size and range

But it all depends on what you are looking for I guess. And fortunately Tesla is experience true competition and by 2030 will be just a small player if not starting to disappear after 2035

The Model Y performance base price in Norway (haven't checked the latest version and it's price) was around 600k NOK, so around 52k euros, and very competitive with the other alternatives given it's overall size, range, 4x4. Overall build quality is still a bit meh and it really sits too low.

I ended up getting one as my lease on another car ended, and there weren't really any other suitable options given i was going EV. The alternatives were generally 10k Euros more expensive.

Obviously more and more decent cars are being released, if i had to buy a car in the next year or so i'd easily be looking at a Polestar 4, perhaps Volvo's electrical XC60 replacement.

The Hitler salute was clearly just a coincidence to me, others have done similarly. You don’t seriously believe he meant to symbolize a support to Nazism with that? I find it mad that so many seemingly rational people have their opinion of him so wrongly painted by mainstream media that they actually believe he meant something with that.

When Calvin Robinson did something similar - the Church literally kicked him out. Do you think they were wrong to do so?

His support of the far-right in Germany is the one I cannot understand, but I’ll have to read up a bit more on that. Claiming he’s a fascist is selective too.

Herregud mann... Wake up, your big hero is a pathetic Far Right conspiracy pushing moron.

 Might do tomorrow, just testing the waters here. Listening to his reasoning over the years in various podcasts, whilst trying to take what mainstream media says with a pinch of salt, I’d say I’m pretty confident he genuinely wants to protect free speech and democracy at all costs, I.E his whole argument for switching from democrats to republicans to support Trump which he elaborates on in the Rogan podcasts.

Also, the idea that Musk would genuinely believe that Trump/GOP are the ones to back when it comes to free speech and democracy is absurd. Or maybe, he just watched Seinfeld and thought to himself: "I will do the OPPOSITE"!

To be fair, if you don't follow topics surrounding Musk you could actually believe the tired narrative that he is a a genius and honest human being. Now that belief stops the moment you see him interact with anyone that isn't pandering. It also stops if you follow him on Twitter.

I'm pretty sure this guy has been helicoptering into this thread for years at this point acting completely oblivious to whatever the current nonsense Musk is up to and claiming he's da best.

Oh please don't do that. Just go and watch some cartoons, video game, or go for a walk, or something, anything, anything else. Please.

Oh how I'd love to also live under a rock.

@Macern not sure you are going to win this one …..

Here's some important reading, explaining the type of fascism him and Peter Thiel are after.

I ventured into this thread to try and enlighten myself a bit because I honestly don’t follow him that closely these days. I used to like him a lot, but have been very much undecided lately, also because mainstream media seem quite biased these days so not sure what to believe really.

I get that there’s this clear perception of him on here as a far-right fascist and a horrible human being. I thought I could ask questions and perhaps learn something which I would assume is the point of discussing things on an online forum.

However it’s clear this is a very sensitive subject for you lot and I can’t be arsed engaging in a defense/attack debate especially as I don’t follow him that closely and I would have to read up a lot in order to do so.

Apologies to all you that were offended, and as I’ve said I’m not here to really argue against anyone because you all might be right and I could be misinformed which I probably am. Think I’ll make a swift exit out of this thread.

If he wanted to protect free speech he wouldn't have had his twitter employees set it up so people saying cis or cisgender would get their posts blocked, while allowing racism and bigotry. He only wants to protect free speech if it's something he agrees with, otherwise he censors it.

Genuinely wants to protect free speech by buying Twitter, allowing right wing narratives to run wild but shuts down or deletes left wing

His Nazi salute was just a wave to the people on the back row

Yeah I can see how you came to your conclusions

Sometimes if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck it must be a cat right?

You know who else does that salute the exact same way he did? Nazis, and even they admitted what he did was a nazi salute.

Or..... you could have just read the info you have been given? and educated yourself?

@Macern any concern about Musk's reported penchant for eugenics? Another coincidence?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if his children were genetically modified CRISPR babies....

I want to protect democracy at all costs, so I'll side with the coup plotter. Wumming tends to work better when it's less obvious

Those two things are not really that compatible.

I wonder do any Musk shills believe that the "Just asking questions" approach really works. The thin veneer of uncertainty really isn't that clever.

One thing, regarding his Nazi salutes. Perhaps read up on the family he was born into. Grandparents were strong members of the Nazi party and moved to South Africa to take advantage of being white there.
He was brought up in a Nazi household with Nazi beliefs. He now publicly supports Adf.
Still think those salutes were just “coincidences”?

Anyway I suspect you know all this but are deliberately ignoring it because it doesn’t fit with the image you have. Considering you’re Polish I’m surprised at your take on it

It isn’t. But they think it is. The far right really loves this weird shtick and think it makes them look smart, while anybody with more than two functioning brain cells can look through it and sees it for what it is: insincerity and lying.
I mean how stupid would you have to be, to believe that a neutral observer who just asks questions has already arrived at the conclusion that his repeated Nazi salute was just a happy little mistake?
They always reveal themselves for who they really are: cowards who don’t have the decency and courage to argue their convictions and beliefs in an honest way, because they know they can’t win in an actual debate.

I've been more or less away from the Caf for years now. Silly me to think the state of the generals would be any better than the matchday threads. You lot are so hostile and aggressive it makes me laugh whilst also pondering why do I even bother. I'm not here to troll and I had no idea about his Nazi heritage. It's a thread on a Man Utd forum ffs. Anyway might as well deactivate my account, any time spent on the Caf is just a complete waste.

So you’ve learnt something? What are you annoyed about? Having your views challenged?

To be fair. If you read the thread back a bit (not recommended), you did post mostly word for word the same thing that others have posted before.

People judging Musk's antics have very little to do with a misleading MSM. He posts everything he thinks on Twitter or says it in live interviews. It's not well hidden and there's no need to spin it in any direction. He's retweeted or agreed with a plethory of far right, racist conspiracies. It's all very easy to find and it's all on his personal account (he might delete some of the worst offenses from time to time). Him having turned into a far right weirdo isn't an irrational anti-Musk thing, it's very evident.

And as for him being insane, come on, watch the dumb chainsaw clip and tell me that's a well adjusted man.

Your post just comes across as wumming, because you start with a rather point of view and after (admittedly very intense) pushback you immediately say you don't really follow him at all.

It's a bit sus.

None of the responses warrant that kind of reaction. You said things that are wildly wrong and people corrected you and the reason the responses were unanimous is because Musk's intent and character aren't up for debate in 2025. He has been very transparent for multiple years.
