Round of 16 | Romania vs Netherlands | Austria vs Turkey

Great balance by Gakpo. Think he’ll be a big player for Liverpool next season. Especially with them having a Dutch manager

I doubt it. He is a very good squad player but misses a world class attribute like speed, strenght or shooting to be a star in the Premier League. He is good at most things but not special at anything

I'm saying we need to return to the linesman raising the flag when they see it, not waiting for a goal etc.
They also keep the flag down to see how the play pans out - if the defending team recover the ball there’s no need to stop play for a free kick, it helps the game flow better and is a good idea IMO. Wish daft commentators would stop going on about it.

Danny Murphy is so stupid

Talking about how the Dutch could go “deep into the tournament”

The 2 commentators on BBC are absolute shite. They're just talking for the sake of talking, saying absolutely nothing worthwhile.

Wait am I listening to some radio shite with the TV pictures?

Edit: yes I am  why does iPlayer default to that?

When you're defending, you want the flag to go up soon as possible. There are a lot problems with offside, letting play develop, VAR, etc., but I think it's worse when they let play continue, the ball goes in the back of the net, one set of fans celebrate while the other half are in tears, then there's a lengthy VAR review, and it's overturned. I'd take the odd shit offside call over whatever the current standard is.

A most pathetic showing by Romania. Can't even use this as a benchmark for Holland.

Netherlands could breeze into the final if they play like this.

They've got a significantly better side than everyone except England and Koeman, while admittedly not a great manager, is levels above the former Middlesbrough boss.

Disagree with you there mate. Otherwise you get disgraceful early flag calls like Bayern vs Madrid in the semis of the CL this year.

No Eastern European team has made it to the QF.

Slovakia was very close, Slovenia fought, Georgia had a lead against Spain, etc. In the end, they are not good enough. They fight, they resist, they give you a run for the money, but for the most part, the football is not good. With these kind of teams, you get the worst of both worlds: hard to beat and kill games, but don’t show attractive football (like, say, Croatia showed few years back or Czechia in 1996).

I like Cinderella's, but I haven’t see any coming from Eastern Europe.

They just can't get it over the edge.
