As the elections come closer, Joe Biden seems to be freezing a lot more often. These two guys competing for POTUS seems completely bonkers.

Columbia Task Force Finally Weighs In: Yes, Anti-Zionism Is Antisemitism
The task force revealed its plans not in a communiqué to faculty and students — but instead in an Israeli newspaper article.

According to the Haaretz article, the task force’s antisemitism definition “is expected to determine that statements calling for the destruction and death of Israel and Zionism can be considered antisemitic, while criticism of the Israeli government cannot.” It mirrors, then, the contested and nationalist International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, IHRA, definition, which has been championed by Republicans and other conservative Zionists, including President Joe Biden.

“This definition is designed to inform faculty and students about what can offend Jewish people and which types of statements can cause pain and discomfort,” Haaretz reported.

Columbia law professor Katherine Franke, writing in The Nation in April, noted that the task force is “chaired by among the most ardent Zionist faculty members on our campus” and that “none of its members has any academic expertise in the study of antisemitism, or in how antidiscrimination laws apply in an academic setting.” (Franke was among the five Columbia faculty members maligned by university President Minouche Shafik in Congress for their Israel-critical positions.)
"from the river to the sea" is obviously gone, i would guess this also includes calling zionism settler-colonialism or apartheid. ihra definition doing the work, as usual. every single event since corbyn became leader of the labour party has pointed in this direction.

...

a funnier one

Colleges would face financial punishments for boycotting or divesting from Israel under new Pa. bill

Pennsylvania colleges and universities that boycott or divest from Israel for political reasons would be cut off from state funding under a new bill.

State Sen. Steve Santarsiero (D., Bucks) first introduced a version of the bill in 2015 and decided to offer it again after campus protests broke out in the wake of the Oct. 7 attack by the militant Palestinian group Hamas, and Israel’s subsequent retaliation. Santarsiero said he was shocked to see university administrations in other states express willingness to enter discussions with students demanding divestment.

The bill would also prohibit any fund controlled by the state treasurer, including Pennsylvania’s multibillion-dollar general fund, from divesting from or boycotting Israel. It would also apply to the state’s three big pension funds: the State Employees’ Retirement Fund, the Public School Employees’ Retirement Fund, and the Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement Fund.

This isn’t the state’s first attempt to deter private entities from divesting from Israel. A law passed in 2016 and signed by former Gov. Tom Wolf, a Democrat, prohibits state agencies from doing business with contractors that boycott or divest from Israeli companies or otherwise support the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement.

Santarsiero’s bill has been referred to his chamber’s State Government Committee. Asked about the bill’s prospects, Majority Leader Joe Pittman (R., Indiana) did not commit to calling it up for a floor vote but did voice support. “The bipartisan effort on this bill magnifies the priority of this issue and likely lends it to being brought to the Senate floor for the entire membership to be heard,” Pittman said in a statement. A spokesperson for Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro, meanwhile, said the governor supports the bill and will sign it into law if it reaches his desk.

The amount of money people are willing to give these grifters. It's actually fascinating in a macabre way how the article describes how the "non profit" shops around for the most lucrative conspiracy to peddle.

America’s Future then embraced a new cause: protecting children from sexual abuse and human trafficking.
In doing so, the group began to amplify a false conspiracy theory, similar to the one at the heart of the QAnon movement: that a global cabal of pedophiles controls the media and politics.

In a video on its website, members of the group’s board and advisory board echoed the false “Pizzagate” conspiracy theory, a QAnon precursor alleging that prominent Democrats were trafficking children at a Washington pizza parlor. Ms. Flynn O’Neill warned of an organized effort to use children’s body parts.

“They have organ harvesting,” she says in a video. “They have also found a way to take the blood, and use the blood, to make themselves youthful.”
Keep bouncing around the conspiracies to see which one clicks and you can get cash from rubes. All the while paying your family members hundreds of thousands.

WASHINGTON —
The Supreme Court on Wednesday struck down part of a federal anti-corruption law that makes it a crime for state and local officials to take gifts valued at more than $5,000 from a donor who had previously been awarded lucrative contracts or other government benefits thanks to the efforts of the official.

So, the SC just gutted a key enforcement mechanism of the SEC in their reveal yesterday. Now it gutted a key enforcement mechanism of the EPA in their reveal today.

And so it begins. @Carolina Red, how close is South Carolina to attempt to do the same thing?

the supreme court case today - does it mean no new regulations, or that existing ones are under challenge too?
