Said it after the last England game, why would Southgate persist in playing 3 right-sided players who prefer to hug the touchline, and no pacey outlet on the left to stretch the game, is beyond me.

There is acres of space infront of the defence every time denmark go forward.

They have also figured out that if you cut out the england right side interplay between walker and saka, we basically have no threat at all bar some long range hopeful hits, because the ledt side is just non existant.

Denmark playing quietly, confidently and very assured as a TEAM.

Shearer ‘We need to get Bellingham on the ball. Get people around. Get runners off him’

This England midfield is terrible, zero control and defensively naive. Just because Trent can ping a few long passes it doesn't mean he's a CM, he doesn't have the positional awareness or work rate to play there, plus he might be able to hit long passes but his short to mid passing is nothing to write home about. Then you have Bellingham and Foden who aren't doing enough when they get the ball and Southgate needs to face the fact that his "tactics" aren't working.
Spot on.

Kane is a problem. We don't need him on the edge of our box.

Denmark just whacking it from outside the box at will like it’s 2004, gotta love it.

I’d bring on Eze. We need a runner in midfield who can carry and dribble up the pitch.

Has Foden had a good game or memorable game for England?

England resorting to solo runs from their own half because there’s no midfield matrix to play through.

Who could have seen this coming?

Denmark has definitely been the better team 1st half

England are a mess. Half the players are static and half the players move so you have people occupying the same spaces as each other and just an abomination of a performance.
So little movement, everyone wants to be through the middle, everyone of the attackers keep dropping too deep so their is literally no outlet on the counter.

Not having an actual LB hurts England a lot. Foden also has no desire to play on the left, either.

England second best to absolutely everything in this last 10 minutes.

Typical England. Great level of talent and boring football with barely any fun element to it. It amazes me that a country this crazy about football, is this incapable of producing a somewhat decent coach.

A traffic cone. Just walks around, lost. No interplay, no making himself available, no positioning and absolutely no clue of what’s going on around him.
Yeah, it's awful, and then you have half the other players around him moving and the other half static so you just get a really crap side with little attacking inspiration.

Plus, the area he'd most naturally pass to which is left wing is occupied by both a non-LW and a non-LB. Brilliant.

Bellingham's role at Madrid is absolutely perfect for him.... it hides the fact that he isn't actual part of dictating play anytime soon, and yet that's what Southgate seemingly wants him to do, while having Trent next to him. Bizarre shit.

I still dont get why TAA was randomly put into midfield to start this tournament.
