Transfer Tweets - Manchester United - 2024/25

Considering his transfer record, giving up transfer power would've been the very first thing to make him concede before offering a new deal, especially if it interferes with implementing the new structure (which is one of the biggest reasons we wanted new fecking owners in the first place).

99% of these "Journos" know absolute feck all about what's going on. Just making clicks for whatever they write.

I like how there are loads of talk about us needing to sell first in order to buy, and then we completely eliminate any negotiating power we might have had with one of our best assets. Everyone will now know that they can get Sancho for a bag of balls. Or we can refuse the bag of balls and he can spend another season with the reserves I guess.

But then we don't get money and we don't get new signings, and we're back struggling to maybe possibly miraculously make it to Europe, not by finishing in the top four of course don't be absurd, but by maybe the competitions expanding to the top 7 in the league or by fluking a cup win.

This news is just so depressing.

£50M  utter tripe
As a starting budget, and with those expected to leave, it would be workable so long as we don’t blow it all on another Mason Mount.

But agree the figure is bollocks. It’ll be based on guesswork and they do it every May/June and it’s always way below what we end up net spending

Maybe it's the FFP limit? result of spending nearly half a billion in the last two years

No on PSR/FFP we are ok because SJR invested $200(157m) which will offset some of the losses on the accounts, the real issue here is actual working cash. Some of that investment was used to pay off the company Credit card, so the club has a facility to make transfers but probably only £100m maximum without players Sales, the second issue is that by qualifying for Europe then Man United are governed by the Squad ratio rule where the club can only spend 80% of its turnover on;
Wages, Agent Fees, Existing amortised Owed transfers and new Transfer Payments.

The previous year the club turned over £648m so if it’s similar this year, although predicted to be nearer £675 then 80% would be a Limit of £540m, our wages have reduced and will reduce due to EL clauses so assume £300m, amortised costs are anything from £92-104m based on whichever publication you read and Agent fees last year were about £35m
last year, So I would say the club could probably spend £150-200m easily due to amortisation of player contracts however even more than that if they sell Mason Greenwood who will be shown as 100% profit on the accounts.

The real issue here is the Club has no cash and Sir Jim is not piling in unless he gets a bigger slice of ownership shares.
His argument will be, why should I invest more of my money with only 27.7% ownership when the club has been run so badly for so long!

We hear this shite every summer.
It’s true this summer, the club has no cash, now if our 27.7% co owner was feeling charitable and wanted to stick another $200m(£157m) then the club could be more active, but he’s probably looking at the previous sh..show. And thinks, I’m not letting tgat lot lose with my money, we’ll wait to Berada, Ashworth and Wilcox are all fully in.

Why all the noise about him staying if there are still reports surrounding ten Hag's reluctance to give up transfer power? This should have all been settled prior.

I imagine it won't be anywhere as big of a stumbling block as that report makes out.

Quality control
No way these latest rumours about ten Hag wanting to keep his power over transfers can be true. If we end up keeping this lemon and bowing down to his demands, I seriously give up on this club changing for the better anytime soon.

He should just count himself lucky he still has a job.

Great, we need more newbies slagging off the manager, there's not quite enough of that on the forum.

Tier 2:

United are sticking to their £3m valuation for Dan Ashworth, whilst Newcastle are still looking for £15m + add-ons.

He's not really in a bargaining position here is he? He absolutely has to give away some of his transfer power because it just categorically hasn't worked.

Exactly Erik needs to see sense on this one, if not maybe they should change their mind on keeping him

Sounds a bit of nonsense. What is Ten Hag going to do if they just ignore is so called power, walk? Okay bye.

I have no issues with those types of press leaks, go the Barca route and claim poverty in the market, shouting from the rooftops about how much cash we have hasn't really served us well has it.

Let's hope it works pleading poverty just like Dortmund are trying to do with us over Sancho

As one of the comments under that x post says. They knew nothing about what was going on, they all thought he was getting sacked, now they have all these details about the meeting that happened. Bullshitting chancers the lot of them.
