Só here we are then. It’s either expulsion from the league, or the demise of the Premier League.

I hope the likes of Neville are happy after defending and legitimizing this bizarre facade for so long.
PL should certainly expel them perhaps indefinitely.
I can’t see the FA welcoming them with open arms either.
This could legitimately be the end of Manchester City (by far and away the biggest cheaters in the uk - am reserving Barca for that spot on a world stage) as a viable club in the UK. Hope you enjoy Saudi boys………

Not even points deduction will happen for Manchester city. EPL are not foolish to taint the name of their biggest and most valuable product. The hearing is set on November so that guardiola renew his contract on January 2025 when the case concludes and city are exonerated
In what world are City the EPL’s biggest and most valuable product?

I'm still trying to work out how the big traditional clubs are monopolising football.... given, as I pointed out earlier, the title has only been won twice by United, Liverpool and Arsenal in the last 11 years. I'm leaving out Chelsea because their successes are almost as corrupt as City's
2 times too many in the eyes of Abu Dhabi probably.

I don’t mind a bit of lay man psychology, so thanks for the speed diagnosis :)

It’s true I am offended by the Mansour way of trying to change English football and the PL, certainly. It seems to me I’m not alone, luckily. You are OK with it?
I totally agree with you, I saw a post today on Facebook, (I can't remember the exact dates) that in the late 60's - 70' s 11 different clubs won the league title in 13 yrs. That was equality, now since 1992 only 7 different clubs have won it, Leicester being the most unlikely winners along with Blackburn.

Can you imagine what it was like for City ownership & staff back in Leicester’s run? Know that they’re cheating like hell & it’s Leicester that’s making history.

This is what makes this terrifying for City in my opinion. Their value to the Premier League is feck all, meaning jettisoning them would only minimally impact the global brand.

The only thing we don’t know about is how much behind closed doors corruption has gone on, Sarkozy-Qatar style. That’s the thing that’ll mean City go unscathed.

HMRC, the government have the power to seize assets and banks accounts if there is evidence of corruption, that is why Abrahmovich had to sell Chelsea.
I’m aware of this but they can’t take tax payments for wages and salaries paid in the UAE now can they?

City will not make such bold move against everyone if they don't already secured some backing themselves in order not to be kicked out of PL. They will not make this amateur mistake.
Yep they've been pretty spotless so far, otherwise they might have racked up 116 charges. Not a mere 115.

I know this isn't how it works, but I'd love to see them bring in some witnesses for their defence. Maybe a cardboard cut out of the stock image business woman who is CEO of one of their biggest sponsors, or Pep with a sock puppet wearing a stethoscope.

I'm not 100% on the tax laws, however I think you are liable for UK tax if you are domiciled in the UK and being paid by a UK company.
My son works for a Swedish firm but pays UK income tax.

Why don't all the other teams in the league just refuse to take part until City are dealt with and in a way which is equal to what Everton/Forest got for their charges?

My guess is a lot of other teams including ourselves bend rules and if we point the finger at City.....They could then say, "Well look what you've been doing i.e A, B and C"

Which nobodye wants.

I wish they would join the Saudi league, spend what the heck they want a nd win their next 50 titles.
But they know that has zero significance on a world level.
The only people who watch Saudi games from other countries are either Ronaldo fans or Ronaldo haters trying to downplay his career.

It's definitely a deflection tactic.
Like a criminal being hauled into the cop shop and trying to claim the cops assaulted him on way.

Neville's morals are for sale. He went from criticising Qatar to doing a fecking advert promoting the hotels during the World Cup. He's an idiot.
Watched the 99 doc on prime and he doesnt seem liked by Yokey either. Who seemed the most intelligent, chill dude. I got the impression he thought Neville was not well liked just from his body language

That’s not how the Middle East works as no income tax is paid on any wages/salary paid into that country. It would be very difficult to ask Mancini to pay 50% Uk income tax on 4 days work in their country where he was paid 5 million dirhams.

One, he would be paid into an account set up specifically for this reason and two, I doubt if the amount paid is even known to UK HMRC, it’s not as if Mancini and others would not have Middle East or European Bank Accounts (Swiss/Monaco) for this very reason.

It's going to be weird as hell seeing Sky and the likes ignoring all of this next season. It literally CANNOT be ignored. Makes me sick to think they could win this. And they are planning compensation payouts as a result too!

Football (specifically the PL) is on a knife-edge at the moment. City gets their just desserts and we live to fight another day. City win, and the Premier League is dead.
If the tide turns then Sky will quickly turn and be the moral vanguard for football. They'll have Neville in a cape on the steps of Wembley giving a speech.

This is the scourge the league let in and bedded down with. Now, they’re trying to destroy the fabric of the game as we know it.

Let’s see how the media treat them for this. It’ll be the biggest indication yet that they’re in cahoots if they entertain this scandalous behaviour.
I imagine the media can't say much if its an active legal case.

But any fawning over that scumbag club by pundits or commentators needs to stop.

It's about money. Make some sort of stand and refuse to play and sponsors and the league will hold money back.
Money needed to pay players who would still need paying etc.

Make no bones about it, other clubs will think the same as wedo about City but they're probably told not to comment in the same way we are on forums about live cases.

Nonsense. Neville won’t give his speech until a few minutes after the verdict

Leicester were cheating when they won and when they were promoted 1st time, same as last seasons promotion in fact.

Matt Lawton says he’s pretty sure we are on the side of the majority.

Good to know we are probably on the good guys side.

Are there any of those petitions going on that have to be heard by parliament if they reach a certain number?
If there was one banning state ownership I’m pretty sure it would get hundreds of thousands at least

This feels like a Hail Mary by City. I'm genuinely starting to think they're f*cked, they know they're f*cked, and they're flinging sh*t at the wall in a desperate attempt to see if anything sticks.

Starting to fantasize about them being expelled from the league. Is that a possible scenario? Just get fecking rid of these serial cheaters?

It’s a start. If you just subscribe to the view people can cheat no matter what, what’s the point of posting here? Because whatever anyone says, it will be true that there will be a way around it.
That wasn't my point. The only reason it "works" in Norway is because we have agreements with a vast amount of countries in regards to sharing information about Norwegian customers, hiding cash in banks isn't as easy as it used to be. The same concept won't work in the case we are debating ref City players and state owners.

Just the old 'Deny&Subvert' routine.
