Jason Wilcox - New technical director

Wilcox need to come to quick realisation that ETH is not made for PL. The sooner the better. After 2 years and throwing away 400M, finishing 8th and with no style of play at all. Surely he has to go?

Wilcox may not even get a say in the matter and Ratcliffe or Berrada could jump in and say that this is fecking shocking under ETH and they need to bring someone else in lively which is their main and most urgent task.

One of them said the same thing about LvG when he was signing for us in 2014. And think he was even worse then ten Hag in that regard. I don't think we'll go for a Dutch manager again in the near future.

A Dutch manager will be fine as long as we aren't relying on them for signings. The days of having a manager like Fergie doing the job of head coach and an entire sporting department are long gone,

They won't. They'll be having -3 goal difference with 3 games to go.

Well, if you want to go so particular on the wordings. The 'many' is in relation to the Ajax posters here. There are not many of them here but most posters here agreed/stated that ETH should not be in charge of signings players due to his records in Ajax. And let's be honest here, most of the players we signed are one way or another related to ETH or Eredivisie. And we are currently 8th in the league. It was a complete failure from mostly Murtough as he was supposed to be the one in charge of signings players.
I agree that the buck stopped with Murtaugh on that count, yeah, even if it is the making of the Glazers.

I think the decision has been, or will be made for him, by the results on the pitch. This team looks like it has lost the fight and doesn't have the heart for any big effort needed to earn a result in the PL. ETH is now radioactive, his reputation in the pits and Wilcox won't want to be credited with any decision to keep him around, in fact no one will.

Hope SJR, Brailsford, Berrada, Ashworth and Wilcox are also fuming now like majority of the fans. He has to go and no more excuses. This is not the first time we were being outplayed by smaller team.

Blanc and Wilcox didn’t look impressed at all last night, I think all the reports of Wilcox and ETH meeting every morning are far more ETH being on trial til the end of the season than them planning for next season together as I believe Ratcliffe and his team have their minds made up.

I think the trial can stop now. It's clear as day we are the worst coached team in PL. We can still have slim chance to win the FA Cup if we sacked ETH now

Who bought Antony? Who bought Onana ? Who bought Mount? .. if that's EtH telling them he wants them then we're fecked.. Martinez and maybe Hojlund are the only 2 players Eth has brought here that showed and promise.. I've had enough of the guy ...Wilcox imo and the rest have made there mind up he's going..

If Ten Hag has shown he can't get a tune out of players he wanted, why on earth do people think Ineos would trust him when he's not going to have as big a say in the signings? He's done here.

Exactly, if it were a case of all of his signings setting the world alight being let down by the previous lot then he would have a case. He can't be trusted with being involved in the recruitment and development process moving forward.

The idea is that they will save him from his own incompetence. But wasn't it just the other day that he complained about the board not getting him the exact players that he wanted and how Mourinho got his? How can this work out if he's that inflexible.

He'll probably also want Ten Hag's input on players having worked with them for 2 years to help give Wilcox an idea of who to sell and keep, judging by the leaks it's fair to say ETH was scathing.

You're suggesting that literally every Dutch manager will fare exactly the same as ETH this season?
I was just pissed off with ten Hag last night when writing that.

Not necessarily, we’ll see Slot at Liverpool, supposedly has right personality so may be successful for them. Don’t think Koeman was too bad at Southampton either.

Fair enough.

I never assumed Wilcox would get a say, technical director is normally some one who will over see coaching structures and programs, particularly at youth and under 23 make. Not make decisions on mangers or transfers

JW may be point man until Ashworth starts

It’s been reported that Wilcox is interim Director Of Football until Ashworth has come in so Wilcox is doing that on top of his Technical Director role, either way though I think the decision has already been made above Wilcox as there's no way Ratcliffe and his team can continue with ETH as head coach.

still lot of uncertainty seems like it would be better of waiting ti make decisions untill we have a full team in place to make educated decisions

I don’t want an interim anything firing or hiring mangers, I don’t really want a full time DOF making those decisions in the first few weeks in change.

They need to have a conversation asap. Things will only get worse if uncertainties drag on into the new season

We need to make decision soonest. I really think we need a change to stand any chance for FA Cup. With ETH end to end football vs City will be suicide.

He must be thinking he had less of a mess to sort out at Southampton.

I hope these guys build a proper plan and stick to it. Good planning is one of the most important aspects in a project. Do not listen to the fans, do not make moves you wouldn't due to fan pressure.... DO NOT TRY TO APPEASE THE FANS FFS

If and when we are playing good football and winning games, the majority of the fans will get on board. Let's face it, must of us know feck all about the environment, what's happened behind closed doors and what private conversations have been had etc.

These guys are supposed to be first in class, top tier right? Let them do their thing.... I won't be passing judgements yet

You're a fan too, technically they should ignore this post as well :wenger:

Coming from City, I think he will be shocked how badly coached we are. It will be interesting what's in his report to upstairs so far. Hope he recommends to people upstairs to get rid of ETH out asap.

If they appease me, I will go get them fired immediately.

Completely agree but can only see a change before FA Cup Final if we lose last 3 league games

Im not sure I agree, I think take there time as long as we don’t get relegated next season there is no massive benefit to rushing.

We will be far better of getting the new structure in place letting them bed in assess the club, culture, player and management staff. Then making big decisions as they come up next season. In the mean time holding pattern, no big signings no big contract renewals, let a few aging players go if we get offers and let go people out of contract and bring in a few loan players / short term deals.

Does it mean writing off next season possibly but we have far better chance of being in better health going forward if we don’t make rash decisions before the new structure has had time to bed in, assess the situation and form a plan.

Ruthlessness will be rewarded in the medium term

I mean, according to the media Ratcliffe threw a wobbly when he saw how untidy the IT department offices were. So the idea he doesn’t feel positively homicidal after a 4-0 thrashing by Palace, after nearly being humiliated by Coventry, is almost laughable.

If EtH is still here next season, it’ll be in a proverbial gimp suit, playing football the way Ashworth and Wilcox tell him to. Between coaching sessions - audited by Wilcox - and matches - audited by Berrada and Ashworth - he’ll be kept in a box under the stairs.

I’ll say confidently that even if EtH stays, we won’t ever see the 4-0-6 formation again, from the start of next season.
