Club Sale | It’s done!

If Jim gets in the club is done. It will be some bullshit offer that keeps the Glazers in power and the club full of debt.

I think it will actually get worse.

Well no he's not has he?
He's ditched his 100% in favour of a minority share, giving the Glazers upto £1 billion to pocket for whatever they want. We all know not a single penny is going into the club, the debt is going to skyrocket and we're going to sink like a stone. But hey, if Jimmy is good with that, thats on him
Yes.

But they've already said they're not going to overpay, which lets be honest, £6bn for Manchester United is daylight robbery!
They could, and i think they likely will go in for it and just give what the Glazers want, but they won't be happy about it. If they want the club, they can and likely will get it. I truly believe, as others have said, this bloomberg report is an attempt from the Glazers to get Qatar to pay up a bit more
I don't think 6bn is daylight robbery (they probably only need to hit 5.5bn by the way).

The current expansion of footballs appeal is huge, there will be more matches abroad, more revenue from national cups, more sponsors, an explosion of women's team appeal, VR experiences and so on.

Manchester United is a unicorn up for sale. It's easily worth £6bn (again, I think £5.5bn does the deal for the sheikh anyway).

Also the Sheikhs camp was pretty thick in saying they will use 1bn to clear debts. Naturally Glazers will want 1bn more.

You dont actually know anything, just that he's changed the structure of his offer for a minority stake and believed to have a staggered approach toward a majority ownership.

This idea that Ratcliff will throw money at the Glazers for them to not to reinvest in the club is bollocks. There is literally nothing in that for Ratcliffe.
We all know nothing at all, we're just going by what reports are telling us.
And yes, i do believe the Glazers will pocket the money and not invest a penny, because it's their perogative to do so. If they're selling their own Class B shares, are they under any obligation to invest any of that money at all? Thats a serious question, not sarcasm, i don't know the answer to that.

You are being a bit simplistic and naieve. Structured bids of this kind have clauses and investment guidelines to prohibit the Glazers to line their pockets.

So going from a full takeover to a minor investment is a restructure?

Maybe actually... just think it's ridiculous that the Glazers get to stay. Jim won't be doing himself any favours with the fanbase
What else other than a restructuring would you call it?

He’s restructured specifically to mitigate the risk him being sued by the class a shareholders.

I'm not a finance person and have no idea how it all works etc. I just don't see how the Glazers are going to agree to a deal where they sell a bit of the club and are forced into investing that and get nothing from it. Whats actually in it for the Glazers at this point?

They profit from the massive revenue potential that the club will benefit from in the future, such as more TV revenue, more sponsorships and so on. All whilst being funded by Ratcliffe on the stadium and infrastructure enhancements and transfers in the near term.

In other words they can have their cake and eat it.. For around 3 years until Ratcliffe gets majority.

Said it before and I’ll say it again, I just don’t get why the four that want to leave would accept a fraction of what they could get from Qatar to appease the two main parasites ? If Ratcliffe is only buying up 12.5% from the parasites and 12.5% from the Class A shares then that’s probably £1.5 billion so say £750 million for the parasites.

It doesn’t make any sense as either the parasites get nothing and the £750 million is invested into infrastructure and squad investment OR all goes to the parasites that want to leave which split four ways is £175 million each, if they took the Qatar deal at a supposed £5.5 billion then once the historical debt is paid off leaves around £4.9 billion so each of them getting £816 million each and massive interest on that amount each year.

I just don’t buy the idea of them wanting to stay for the prestige of being United owners and it can’t be for the money anymore because there’s none left for them to take any more, we’re a yo-yo club in regards to Champions League football who are just as likely to finish 8th as we are 4th and the longer that continues the less income so the less money and the higher the debt as Ratcliffe won’t be clearing it either so it just doesn’t make any sense other than to get one last bid from Qatar.

Understandable, but as i just posted above, if the Glazers are forced to invest Jims money into the club, what is actually in it for the Glazers at this point? They'll be selling to Jim and seeing nothing of the money as Jim will be expecting it to be invested, so will the Glazers actually gain anything?

I don't think Beckham would be suddenly piping up if Qatar thought Ratcliffe was about to have his bid accepted.

I can see another Jassim 'final offer' coming in very soon.

Ok that clears that up for me, i can see why it's appealing for the Glazers then

The Glazers are essentially selling equity at this point if I understand it correctly.

No, he hasn't ditched any offers. He's had multiple offers on the table since at least the end of April. If the all the Glazers wanted to sell their shares, then they would've taken either Ineos' or Qatar's 69% offer months ago.

And I can't believe that you think a fecking Bloomberg report is just a ploy to get Qatar to up their bid...

And for what it's worth, objectively I feel 5bn from Sheikh Jassim is too low to buy the club outright today. Football is likely going to be worth a lot more in 3 years vs today. Just look at the wholesale changes around us, from women's football to new streaming platforms and more money in matches abroad.

From a business standpoint I think the Glazers are right in telling sheikh to up his bid, or they can just keep their pie and benefit for the next few years.

Why does everyone assume that Becks is in with Qatar , he could just as well be in bed with SJR

What the hell are you talking about?

The Glazers are just 6 little money-crazed goblins that have been terrible owners of our club. Everyone knows that.

However, most of you have deluded yourselves into thinking that a person that's 10 times richer than said goblins, with a company that makes him so much money in a year that United's annual dividends are a drop in the bucket in comparison...will just come in and "leech" those drops off of his new multi-billion investment...yes, it's as braindead of an argument as it sounds.

This fanbase is not much better than what Newcastle has become since the saudi takeover. Twerking for blood money. Pathetic.
And outside of gut feeling what exactly is the evidence to back it up? This is a guy who went from I want to buy the club to any % will do just let me say I own utd. This is a guy who has said or done nothing to show he cares about winning or good of the club beyond bragging rights to say he owns utd, every single one of his sports ventures till date have been anything but a success.

Also blood money is what made the west today what it is, but let's not get into the moralistic bs. The club you support makes money from things like gambling and has money coming straight from the so despicable Saudis so i would suggest getting off the high horse. The whole we are self sufficient and don't need the devil ME countries owning us bit comes from taking blood money from these evil sources.

I still think that Jassim will win, I can’t see any other outcome.

The thing i don't understand, is why would the Glazers have already rejected investment from places like Elliott etc if they only wanted investment or to sell small parts of the club? Unless there is a reason as to why they wouldn't want this?

The figures from Elliott may not have been as appealing as Ratcliffe.

Qatar will win this. But damn, the Glazers and Raine are really good at negotiating this deal. They will get maximum value in the end.

Obviously, Qataris completing a full takeover would create a powerhouse out of United it once was, if not even more frightening. But, that looks unlikely now, Joel and Avram have won somehow over the other 4 siblings.

Jimmy Brexit will stop the next, midtable irrelevancy of the Glazer Apocalypse(which is where we are heading if Glazers remain with total control) and he will keep the club fighting for top 4, but not anything more than that. Forget about winning titles, we will truly become the new Spurs - desperate(as Roy Keane said).

This new update really just brings us to six months back where Qatar just upped their bid.

I believe they'll do it again and if they're as cunning as they'd want us to believe them to be, they'd wait until close to the board meeting and present their offer as superior to Ratcliffe's with the only logical decision within the fiduciary duties of directors being accepting their bid.

Its consistent with what David Hellier has said previously - the Qatari's were leading the race a couple months ago and Ratcliffe's bid was dead in the water unless he changed the structure to appease Class A shareholders or offered a minority. He's done the latter.

What I will say though, is the situation is very fluid. David Hillier has only said that Ratcliffe is "edging it", or similar, so I wouldn't be surprised if there is another turn.
Cheers mate

It’s not unlikely at all. Negotiations are ongoing.

They literally give up a large portion of their revenue if Jim buys 25 percent and they have to spend 25 percent of the value of the club on the club.
The maths do not add up.
Everybody keeps talking g about rising value etc but the top clubs finances have been stagnant for years. The super league didn’t almost happen for fun
Chelsea are the only to be ever sold for over 1b. It’s all hysterical crazy talk
