But they can't be THAT stupid to not realise that shit results are leading us to be mid table meaning less money for them. May as well let this be someone else's problem

Have you not seen that photo of Avram Glazer a few days ago? The cheapness goes even as far as to their own clothes! That is what they do if their own money. Such skintflints!

Outside of throwing the club's money around to make poor and unnecessary signings, those feckers have never spent their own money in order to take care of things where personal investments are more than necessary. The fact that so little money has been spent in stadium facilities over the last 14 years speaks volumes about the kind of frugality of theirs, worthy of the days of Scrooge McDuck. They never cared for the scoreline, the stat line or the goal line; they are only interested in the bottom line.

If you don't think that it is not possible for the Glazers to embody this many of the worst traits of sports ownership, think about it again. The man from whom they inherited the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is still regarded as such and is now regarded as the worst sports owner to have ever lived. Hugh Culverhouse is described as insanely cheap, treacherously backstabbing, incompetent in on-field matters and yet incredibly invested in making money at the expense of the product. For the story that Zlatan has said about being charged one quid off his paycheck because of one fruit juice at the hotel, it reeks the same stuff about Culverhouse charging his own players to pay for drinks off a vending machine.

edit: If if wasn't for the genius of 3 men in particular - Sir Alex Ferguson, Jon Gruden and Tom Brady, we would be talking about a legacy of total failure for the Glazers in sports ownership. That fact has to be hammered time and time again.

Imagine if we had someone behind the likes of WikiLeaks to snoop into the emails between the Glazers and Arnold/Woodwood over the past years.

Publish that content and I'm sure there would be enough shady business to force them all to sod off.

I don’t feel comfortable about Qatar, far from it, I worry where we’re heading as a club and right now the only options seem to be Ratcliffe, Qatar and, god forbid, the Glazers staying and right now Qatar seems more palatable than the rest because the rest means the Glazers stay.

Yeah the minute Ratcliffe started talking about keeping Glazers he totally lost me. The minority stake consideration was rubbing salt in the wound

He'd be applauded like Michael Knighton

Yeah, feck knows what the thinking is there.

Is it his last throw of the dice because he knows Jassim has more or less won?

Is it his last throw of the dice because he’s realised the Glazers, or at least some of them have no intention of selling?

Either way , the fans, the club, management and players need to know and draw a line under it all.

It kind feels like we’re proper fecked right now though on and off the pitch.

At this point I feel like Qatar is the only real option, since the current ownership regime would be removed from the club under their proposal and those who remain will be very closely monitored (senior officials and playing staff). They want to win games and trophies, not make money. That Woodward quote about how United doesn’t need to be successful on the pitch as we still make money anyway is a HUGE red flag as to how the Glazers see the club. No sports club of that size publicly admits that even if it is somewhat true.

Ratcliffe/INEOS have pretty much lost me if they’re serious about only a minority investment. Ratcliffe/INEOS have got to take a controlling share of the club with the Glazers only there to pick up small dividends or something and not involved in any decisions.

The slate needs to be wiped clean. With that change, the players who take the piss won’t feck around anymore and they’ll be fighting for their futures.

The owners set the standard for those below them in any business and their approach is one of indifference, incompetence and absence. Their core value is money, share price and dividend and looking to spend as little as possible and trying not to hire people who challenge them.

No wonder then that when it filters down, we get managers like Jose clearly not caring anymore, managers who say we’re run like a company, senior officials who stay there despite numerous failures and players behaving like they don’t give a feck as they take home exorbitant wages.

Its probably not Qatari sportswashing people are afraid of, its change that people do not want, the reality is that in 2023 this club needs a dynamic change right across the boards,
the club has died a slow death since 2005 and changing the manager every few years is just the definition of insanity syndrome, doing the same thing over and over, what this club needs is for
new and innovative owners to come in and demand the best in class from the top down, including demolishing the stadium and building a new state of the art stadium which would be the envy
of every other club on the planet, a new vision, a new culture, a new dynasty, a new structure, burying the old archaic past once and for all and rising like a phoenix, thats what this club needs, it needs
fresh air, a revolution, and am sorry yes just like the one on the other side of Manchester 15 years ago, let the past go, those days are never coming back and this club needs to now completely evolve,
lets hope that for the sake of this great club that in the coming weeks/months it catches a break in that new and dynamic direction.

Weird comment.
His clothes are decent. I was honestly impressed. Looks like he's been shopping at All Saints.

His wife on the other hand, ouch. Looks like he's been fishing in the same gene pool.

But weird to comment on his clothes. He's just out and about in NYC.

I reckon that dog is the registered owner of the club, Jim or Jassim could seal the deal with some dog treats and a new stroller.

Who doesn't want change? We all do!

Be it Ineos or Qatar, or even The Glazers keeping control, we all want change and modernization.

The Glazers are terrible owners, clearly. But had they appointed the right people and given the club the focus that it deserved, then we could easily have had a successful era post SAF. And that is despite the leveraged buyout, dividends and loan payments. But they seem only to be interested in using the club as a personal piggy bank for other ventures - which honestly, it fine for a regular business, but massively detrimental to the success of a football team.

Funny how Arsenal fans hated "Silent Stan". Josh Kroenke then gets involved in the running of the club, starts listening to what Edu and Artena want and need and they turn the club around. But that isnt going to happen as United as The Glazers dont demand excellence. They dont need to when they know they have an appreciating asses they inherited and want to flip.

Not defending Woodward, but don’t you think he’s been a bit misinterpreted here? Utd are probably the only (non-oil funded) PL club who can afford to pay the absolute top echelon in transfer fees and wages, even if they don’t have CL money for a few seasons.

Edit- I see you have actually kind of acknowledged that later in your post.

Suprise-suprise Jim Brexit is backstabbing the gullible united supporters just like he backstabbed the gullible brexiters, once a rat will always be a rat. I honestly think its been the plan all along, they just cant accept it right away due to fear of getting sued so they keep delay delay delay till the qataris got tired and pull the deal off.

Those comments he made (we're the Disneyland of football) set the tone for what was to occur over the past decade. It was the reason why Jurgen Klopp did not want to go anywhere near the position. It has also attracted the mercenaries signings of Alexis Sanchez amongst others and existing offering players ridiculous salaries to extend their contracts.

Old Trafford has become a haven for players to earn a good living for mediocre performances.

The question is; if you went to the Glazer's and offered option A, win the league but break even during the financial year. Or option B, finish 4th but make $5 million profit, what would their answer be?

Hurry up and sell you vermin and when they do I hope all of the Glazer siblings more so Joel and Avram have a jolly old plane journey of the bermuda and it goes missing under mysterious circumstances. These parasites do not deserve the fortune that has been bestowed upon them.

Seems to have gone quiet again after Jimmy decided to give his new strategy a bit of a leak.

Hoping we hear something soon... ish. Starting to get a bit depressing all of this. I know the Glazers are parasites and leeches, but even they must be weighing up the future with everything thats going on

It kind feels like we’re proper fecked right now though on and off the pitch.

It's a circuitous and devious restructure of his previous proposal, which gives succour to the reluctant duo but ultimately clears a path for a full takeover.

It's clever in its own right. All Ratcliffe has are those two, so he has to play them anyway he can. It might appeal to them further if Sheikh Chevy Chase does not take them to WallyWorld.

Like David Hellier said "the process is moving at glacier speed." A bit like the progress on the pitch.

Ive never been 100% behind the Qatar takeover, but im fully convinced now its the only option left that will save the club.

A full INEOS takeover is seemingly dead in the water and an investment is the only option for them... which means the parasites stay. I honestly cant see a thing changing in this situation, not whilst the Glazers still have a hand (a majority one at that) in running the club. We need to desperately wash our hands of them and urgently need a clean fresh start.

Thats genuinely the only way i see any sort of improvement or turnaround of fortunes. Other than that i can only see things gradually getting worse and worse... and thats unbelievably depressing as it appears INEOS seems to be the most likely of the two. (if it even happens)

Very well laid out by the journalist here and backed up by Jordan….

Wait, what? I see that i missed one thing about Sir Jim. So, he was for brexit but he doesn't live (or pay his taxes) in England?
  that is some funny shit.

The Manager is a problem though. Ten Hag is not best in class. Ten Hag Fanboys do not understand this. How do you even know Ten Hag would willingly work under a Sporting Director, he demanded control of transfers or he wouldn’t even have come to Man Utd

Qataris will not tolerate some baldy Dutch egghead who loses games 7-0 to tell them what they can or cannot do. Ten Hag also has a habit of going to places like Anfield or Etihad and getting absolutely smashed
You just know when we go to Anfield in December we are getting smashed.

Again Qatar will not tolerate that. Ten Hag is gone my friend, once new owners come in and that’s a good thing. Like I said it’s Nagelsmann or De Zerbi by summer 24

First two paragraphs are spot on. I am not at all convinced INEOS are the more likely party to have a bid accepted though. We know very little about what is really going on.

The minority investment is a route to a full takeover and I'd imagine Ineos will ensure progression before handing over a dime.

Wait, what? I see that i missed one thing about Sir Jim. So, he was for brexit but he doesn't live (or pay his taxes) in England?
  that is some funny shit.

Brexit is best understood as an attempt to make the UK's political executive more and more to the right.

Ratcliffe's complete lies are notorious regarding brexit.

But as bad as brexit is, and it is very bad indeed, it is not as bad as Qatar's government.

Not yet, anyway.

Watching Newcastle really makes me dread having a competent ownership backed by decent money available to us.

I don't think I can stand a period without extended football misery after the training the Glazers have done on the fanbase in the last 10 years.

Tell that to the people that the liars convinced people to vote Brexit and then how they criminally mismanaged Covid, crashed the economy and wasted billions which they gave to their buddies.

Hugh Culverhouse, the man from whom the Glazers inherited the Bucs after several lawsuits following his death, was notoriously known for being that kind of cheap (down to the clothes as well).

The de zerbi that just got smashed 6-1 that's him out a week after ten Hag then. Who's up after?

I can't see Qatar staying quiet if they were genuinely out of the race/lost interest. They'd have cause more stir and shown public interest in a different club by now.
