Our second best attacker right now.

Martial and Antony just not at the races or contributing the way we need them.
Despite Antony getting a goal?

I get what your trying to say, but a goal is giving the output needed.

Yup couldn't get himself into the game despite there being spaces everywhere. At one point, I forgot he was on the pitch.

I really like him but he's only getting games at the moment because we have a shite forward line.
I think that’s unfair, he’s getting games because he’s contributing to goals when he plays. His off the ball play does need work, but which young players doesn’t?

How can he be incredibly raw, and still "offer more" than a 100m € player.
Antony is not a 100m player we all know that
I think Antony is quite good at pressing and harassing defenders
Some nice link up play and keeps the ball

garnacho will 9/10 lose the ball 1/10 create a goal

couldn’t have twoAntony’s because every game would finish 0-0
Couldn’t have two garnachos because every game will either 5-4 or 4-5

Visibly angry at Rashford and Bruno for not passing. Bruno had a word with him right after. Rashford gave him cold shoulder after the penalty and went to hug Bruno.
Probably went straight to Bruno for letting him take the penalty

That is because he is involved in play more, which comes from reading the game and making decisions based on those readings. Taking up positions well, and pressing at the right moments to create pressure and danger. It's not the moves of an immature player who is "raw", who plays in moments. Not when you consistently gets in those positions, which is what he does. Creates a few clear cut chances for a goal per game atm. raw is just, the wrong word for this guy

He’s not involved in play more than Antony, and doesn’t press particularly well either. His chances don’t come from that. He’s generally fed the ball wide and able to beat his man. What you’ve described there is certainly not what I see from Garnacho.

I'm not talking about a single game though.

From the minutes given only Rashford and Garnacho are adequately contributing at the moment

That was what I saw I well. Bruno is likely first choice taker still, but let Rashford take it as he was having such a good game otherwise.

Can't see it being anything to do with Garnacho.

Because he is raw and the 100m player isn't really doing that great. Both things can be true.

Garnacho is going to be a star for sure.
He isn't raw, he is young and hungry, and trying to prove himself. He consistently creates way more off the bench than even a slightly off form Rashford.

Garnacho will lose the ball 9 out of 10 times. Yeah, go on dreaming buddy. His technique is that terrible and he is a kick and run merchant for the future behold. Get lost.

Likewise
His opening cameo of getting the ball, getting too excited and then tripping over his own feet summed him up tonight
He was running out of play before godfrey intervened

when he shows composure (Fulham) he‘ll be lethal

Why would you say that when he actually got pushed? Obviously was eager to prove himself, but he did in fact end up losing his balance, because of that push.

Edit: No wait, I was thinking of the push he got early on in the game but no you are actually advocating no penalty? oh my

What a strange barometer ? Even more than an out of form player…I’d hope so
I was highlighting that he constantly wants to run at players sometimes not knowing where he’ll end up, yes he’s young but it’s still ok to say it. He’s got a huge potential, he’s not above criticism

In an ideal world Ronaldo and Sancho would be contributing to this team right now. Unfortunately both are not part of the squad so EtH has had no choice to draft him in. A bit like Elanga last season under Rangnick, they got openings they probably didn't merit yet.

In saying that, I've always felt Garnacho would breakthrough just not this soon. His contributions have been a welcome surprise but there's been a lot of games he's looked very poor because he can't get into the game. I remember at least two occasions where he's been hooked off at half time. He's good enough to play in the cups but the PL is too soon IMO but we have no choice right now.

Fantastic contributions to the team so far. And he's only going to get better.

You’re saying he lost his balance at the start because of a push ? Come off it man
Here we can support and like the lad whilst also being critical.

it was a clear foul. Godfrey didn’t even try to appeal against it and instead mouthed “I had to”

No one is saying it wasn’t, you’re talking about the penalty here
It was a penalty all day, I was saying he was running out of space, probably out of play and Godfrey fouled him giving us a pen.

the poster also mentioned the first time he slipped out after about :30 seconds of coming on, was because of a push, which is bollcks. He slipped because he sometimes gets carried away

Think Garnacho reaction was not that bad to Bruno ‘s awful shot. Bruno should have been apologising rather than being an ass

His chances do come from great technique at high speeds, which is a dangerous for any player at any age but so can be said for Rashford who had the same impact when younger but also his technique isn't as polished. I described mature decision making which is something we've certainly seen from Garnacho if we ignore just this one game as a measuring stick in a vacuum.

You don't think he knows he'll end up creating danger like chances, goals or penalties by using his speed and technique to get past players? He has a great finishing technique cutting inside, but often he goes on the outside and has gotten penalties and assist by that action. Me telling him that that action was a fluke or a coincidence would be me being very dumb, for the sake of calling him raw. So stop it.

He did get pushed, on the first action, twice. Just look at it ffs. Second, it definitely was a penalty. It's not needed to be weird about it and take sides based on someone opinion. It's a young player, what you see is what you get and what comes is anyones guess. Be fair.

No. He wanted to prove himself, that isn't a label, it's a feeling on a certain day. Go to bed.

I think Bruno is making sure that Garnacho does act like some big-time charlie reacting like that to a much more proven, senior player. He said it himself that the senior players need to teach the younger players what its like to be a proper pro including not getting too big for your boots.

Who is gonna teach Bruno then?

While Garnacho might have overreacted a bit but in all honesty that was my reaction too. We have to improve decision making in attack and Bruno if he wants to get the senior players privileges needs to lead in that as well

Garnacho is a youngster on his few games. That kind of attitude to senior player wouldn't fly in any big team. Keano would deck him if he got that attitude from John O'Shea on his debut season for instance (although O'Shea would've never done that as he's such a nice and sweet man).

I think what Bruno did was proper leadership and mentoring a young player

That said, we are playing Garnacho way too much. We need Sancho back so Garnacho isn't our only quality sub. Kid needs to work more on his skills and be more hungry to improve. Bringing him on, in every game, while he is clearly just a kid isn't helpful

Nah seems the right approach to me. If he’s not playing enough even if he shows he’s good enough, he will be frustrated and look elsewhere. He can and should play every game if his performance warrants it.

People criticising Bruno for having a go at Garnacho for his reaction  I actually liked that a senior leader in our team is making sure a young player is not getting ahead of himself. Garnacho’s reaction was a petulant one like how Ronaldo used to - you don’t want young players doing that.

Nah if hes good enough he should be playing. Mbappe made 44 appearances for Monaco when he was 18. I know Mbappe is elite talent but still.

Seems so angry all the time and he’s the youngest player in the squad

Also no one thinks he looks a little like Daniel James?

He reminds me young Rashford. Still raw but has energy and determination to make runs consistently. Expect him to progress really well. He will be a competent back up for Rashford in easier games by the end of the season.

Age of social media…no-one can react naturally in the heat of a situation without « being an ass » but everyone can mock everyone hiding behind tweeter thinking you are better because you judge others while doing nothing. So great :wenger:.

He's initial thought after receiving the ball out wide is to have a go at the defender, which is great for a super sub that he is now. He will need to add more composure to his game, but more than happy with him now. Clearly he's instructed to stay high up the pitch for counter attacks.

Antony has 3 goals in 8 games in the league, 5 overall in around 15 apps.

I dont think that's too shabby to be honest.

Yeah Bruno really has some nerve there considering all the crazy shite he attempts on the regular. Those saying he is just keeping Garnacho in his place as a youngster are completely ignoring his previous petulance which has been aimed Rashford amongst others.

He’s an annoying fecker, honestly.

Well said.

This is little and nothing, something that happens all the time on a pitch, quite why it was deemed worthy to create a mini furore over is just mind boggling.

Yeah and he honesmake the best imitressI tly doesn't does i

I love this player. Real Man United talent and mentality.. he wants to be involved, be a presence, showcase his energy and definite talent. He wants to be involved in games.. he'll be ever, ever so important to us this season and has the perfect manager and players around him.

His tantrums are fine, he's 18 and I prefer to see players like this, rather than passive, scared, meek.. he's loved by our fans and I want him to just be fantastic. He'll get plenty game time.. can you imagine how he will be if he keeps developing?

A very exciting talent.
