Lionel Messi | PSG Watch

Why can't they both retire as legends?

They're making it really hard to love them, primadonna narcissistic hardman wannabe cnuts both of them.
Don't see anything primadonna or narcissistic from Messi here. He's just showing a bit of teeth. I like it.

Primadonna narcissist is our former cnut.

The wannabe hardman cnut is Messi.

Showing a bit of teeth? Fine, then play like that, don't go rolling off the pitch and trying to con the ref every 3 minutes.

Nah @IFC 1905, Argentina are definitely the least likeable team remaining in the competition. Martinez, Acuna, Romero, Otamendi, Paredes, Di Maria, De Paul, Correa are all footballers it's VERY easy to dislike.

It's a shame they resort to cheating for 60 minutes after some Messi magic, because they looked quite good in the 2nd half of ET when they needed to score!

As long as England is still in the tournament, no other team can be the most dislikeable  I mean, Enland is coached by Gareth fecking Southgate of all people.

Bundesliga has zero competition way worse than Ligue 1 with Bayern winning all 10 titles in the last 10 years (also with no other German team winning something in Europe). If that's not the definition of 1-team farmers league, I don't know what is.

Put Aguero, Benzema, Suarez etc. at that Bayern, they would all break records in that league..

Frankfurt is literally the reigning UEL champion. Those players aren't better than Lewandowski or if so, not by much. I don't get why people always have to talk other players down to make their favorites look better.

This so fecking stupid.

Van Gaal's comments on South American players in the past. Messi was imitating Riquelme's exact celebration since Riquelme got the hard treatment from Louis.

Wasnt Riquelme one of Messi's idols?

Im sorry how is Southgate comparable? he's like an inoffensive nice guy.

The best player ever by a distance. I'm sick of having to listen to others opinions on the rest. He is a level above the rest just like he has always been a level above CR7. I don't care about the trophies or anything else, just use your eyes and appreciate he is the best ever and we were privileged enough to live through it. Not Maradona, Pele, Zidane or anyone else can deliver the pass he did yesterday. Case closed, for me, there is no one else and it isn't even particularly close either.

Emi. If Lisandro didn't play for United I'd probably be less biased, but you know it's bad when he's one of the good ones!
so every argie is a hateful cnut bar Lisandro cause he plays in a United shirt.

Him, Maradona and original Ronaldo (r9) are goats for me. Can't separate those 3. I am fanboy of R9, Maradona is Maradona and Messi is just an alien on the pitch. Joy to watch.

But, why is he treated like some kind of good guy? He is a cnut. Not CR7 level cnut of course (who is?) but Messi also has shit behaviour.

Probably because if you think Messi is a cnut (because of his on the pitch actions) then you would probably think that mostly everyone is a cnut (because his antics are tame compared to most) , so if everyone is a cnut (because their actions are usually worse than his) then it's just varying degrees of cnut which is why Messi isn't really seen as a cnut because he's less of a cnut than the most cnuty cnuts (He wasn't in the top 10 cnuts involved yesterday for example where he was Peak cnut).

The longstanding comparison with Ronaldo is a big part of it. When you're constantly being compared to such an obvious heel people will tend to frame you as the good guy.

have no idea why you guys are so defensive, id love it if Messi won the whole thing but there is no denial that this and a lot of past Argentina teams is full of absolute cnuts. You dont want harm to anyone but id genuinely be happy if someone broke leg of Otamendi or Paredes. There are lots of other cnuts in the team but they stand out tall as much as Messi stands out in talent.

I think most Argentinians embrace (and love) most of the antics.

It's the holier than thou attitude (mostly based on an out of context picture) thats grating IMO.

I hate to break it to you, but your national team has had a vast array of cnuts in basically every generation(including former Utd players).

It might be a cultural thing, because literally none of you argie posters seem to recognise it, but it's how everyone else in the world basically sees it

what I can’t stand is the hypocrisy. As if European teams didn’t have antics or behaved like cnuts  it’s part of every competitive side, but it stands out for us becaus we are more passionate.

imagine If we got the penalty holland got vs Mexico with that incredible dive by robben, or the one for England when Owen fell down in 1998.

no One that really competes is a saint

People who thinks he was a cnut never played football nor are competitives. Or they simply just are haters.

Probably the most overrated player of my time. He’s good but nowhere near even Benzema or peak Suarez. People go on about how Mbappe plays in a farmer league(and rightly so) but cream over Lewy who’s played for the best team by a country mile in a league arguably worse than Ligue 1, who also managed to bottle most of the big games.

He has 13 goals in 14 games for Barcelona in La Liga already at 34 years of age? Same shite logic saw people saying Haaland would be a flop because of the ‘all powering’ Premier League.

All of the Argentine posters recognize it though.

What they have been arguing against is the lack of recognition (and condemnation) of the Dutch antics which contributed?

So it comes across as people using events (or out of context imagery) to push their own preconceived biases ("Argentina have no class" etc) instead of a fair and balanced opinion.

Every nation in the world will have some of these players, nobody is saying that they don't (Tyrone Mings is a good English example). The difference is that it's part of your DNA, your country celebrates it, and sees nothing wrong with it. You intentionally produce and exalt cnuts

Recognise was probably the wrong word, I moreso meant have no issue with it, you see it as part and parcel of the game.

Being a cnut to Van Gaal is a massive plus imo. Van Gaal is such a dick.

That really surprises me. Fair play I didn't this was the case. Maybe the teams they've played are also a factor? Their group was really easy

Good call, I mean they dominated Saudi Arabia but lost and then Mexico and Poland parked the bus.

Australia didn’t start playing football until the 80th minute.

For example Croatia have allowed 22 shots this tourney, Argentina just 7. I imagine it could be lopsided in Argentina’s favor in the next match but Argentina could still get Croatia’d the way Brazil did

Argentina would lose to either. Both have so much more quality. All this fairytale stuff and the huge support is fine but quality tells imo

In fairness we could say the same about Croatia vs Brazil and look what happened. Jammiest result of the entire tourney so far but that’s football

definitely see France as a big favorite though

How do you envision Real’s 21/22 campaing with Lewy instead of Benzema? Have you ever seen Lewy carrying anything?

Ronaldo must hate that he's still their main man in this world cup, whilst he's been relegated to a glorified cheer-leader for Portugal

Never underestimate Lloris' ability to throw games.
